I really like this plot! It reminds me a lot of She's the Man, which is a fantastic movie.

Your characters seem really realistic, and I like that Alex was so hesitant about her brother's plan, because there really is so much that can go wrong. But you can tell she just really wants to help and would do anything for her brother which is really cool. I've only read the first chapter so far, but I'm interested to see what happens when she actually gets to the school. I know I would forget I was pretending to be my brother and would randomly start "being a girl" again. I feel like I wouldn't be great in that situation

The only thing I have to say right now is that I liked the beginning of your summary, but it felt like you gave a bit too much away at the end. That might just be me being a sucker for the mysterious side of things but yes.

Great job overall though! It looks like you've made it a lot further with a NaNo story than I ever have!

Aww, I feel so bad that Alexander can't do the drumming on his own, but he is very lucky to have Lex to help him out and take his place until he gets better. You can tell they have a really close sibling bond, which is always fun to read about. I feel bad for Lex to that she had to chop off all of her hair; I would be so sad if I had to do that! She took it like a champ though. I can understand why Lex is so hesitant about the whole thing because there is so much that can go wrong, but she still knows that she has to do it for her brother. I think this story has the shaping to be really great! Keep up the great work!

Of course this reminds me of She's The Man, but better because it's got music in it and not sports. Not that sports are a bad thing, just.. well... you know. MUSIC. :D

There were a few little grammar things. Just missed words that your brain connects are supposed to be there, or one word in for another. Nothing too big, nothing distracting. :)

Their relationship is interesting! As siblings they get along really well and I'm intrigued at how this is going to work. I would have liked to have seen those lessons maybe, at least figured out something that she was doing. Is she musically talented in anyway? I should probably keep reading before asking but all the same. The drums aren't as easy as they appear and I hope her three month stint helps her brother out as they both this it is going to! I'm excited to meet the roommate and see how that works out for the poor girl.

I once tried on boys clothing and frankly they would not fit. Hips are a thing that just get in the way. :P
