    Alternate universe. It's when situations aren't canon to real life--like a fic where they're in college or have regular jobs is an AU. imo all fics are AU, but some people think that as long as its band-centric, it's not considered AU. a lot of other terms in fanfics can be found here.

    This is a lot different from anything I've read so I'm still adjusting to the idea but it's written well and Alex is adorable so I really like it!
