@ dudewheresmyipod Thank you so much for reading! Comments like this make my entire week (not that I find joy in your tears, but I feel accomplished hen I'm able to evoke powerful emotion into my readers). Also, thank you for commenting despite the story being semi old now because comments always encourage a writer and give their esteem a boost!

I had intended to write a follow up part to this, but decided against it only because I like the ambiguous ending in which the reader can decide what happens to Alex.

Thank you so much for reading this(:!
In regards to the all caps- I see what you're getting at, as it can be seen as remedial use of syntax in language, but for the purpose of the story Ifelt like it was acceptable (I've also seen it used in Harry Potter but JK Rowling is a goddess so she can get away with it shhhhhh).

And, the "retarded" use of the word, I whole heartedtly agree with you, it is extremely insulting, which is why Jack uses it- it was his intent, to be offensive. When it comes to writing, I try to, not necessarily ignore touchy subjects- but encompass them as the character.. For example, I would never to any degree use the word in such a derogatory term, but Jack would. I hope this doesn't offend you in any way- it was just my take as a writer.

    Thanks again!!!! I love criticism.

Noooooooooo, please say Alex gets out and finds someone who actually loves him.

That was good! My only pointers are not to use all caps for dialogue and you also used the slur "retarded" in it which is considered offensive.

I wish I found this earlier because usually when I find a fic that's a month old I don't bother to comment but this, I had to. Oh my god this made me cry. No joke, I started sobbing when Alex had to give up school because all his hard work: gone. And how much Jack enjoyed it? That made it worse, it actually hurt so bad. But this was really well written and I loved the story nonetheless. Always a good one if it makes me cry!

@ YouMeAtATL (sorry this posted twice and I can't delete. ..)
You're welcome, and I know exactly what you mean, because there are many fics where there's more of a reason or its from the victims POV, which you didn't always do which I really liked actually

But yes, I was thinking about how the death would have affected Jack. Personally I think that there would be a hell of a lot of guilt involved because from my POV it was apparent that Jack still loved Alex. I was also thinking a lot about the psychological effects as to what caused Jack to have this sudden change in mood towards the relationship which could be explored throughout. But I think that the guilt needs to be the leading idea if you were to write a sequel (personally that is), so legal guilt and the repercussions of Alex's family etc.

But yes, it'd be great if you were able to carry this forward a bit, and even if you don't manage to, I hope you liked my interpretation as to what may have happened as a result :) thanks for the great story again :)

I'm really thrilled to hear you enjoyed this. I made it my primary goal to seek out away from the usual abuse relationships because there exists people who don't really have an excuse to hurt other than the fact they like it.

I think the sound of a sequel could be interesting to write. I'll definatley keep that in consideration, since I formulated my own ideas prior to writing this. Just for clarification, do you do mean a P.O.V in which we see how Alex's death affects Jack?

Once again, thank you for reading! I would love to hear your thoughts about what could have happened in the case the sequel does not get written! Very Happy

I really liked this, despite how dark it was (I don't really read them often) but it also highlights, as you said in the comment below, that this shows the sad truth for some relationships... but this is going on a complete whim, but is there any chance you could write a sequel to this showing the repercussions of what happened to Alex on Jack? It'd just be interesting to see your point of view as to how it affected him, especially as I have my own thoughts as to what would've happened

Thank you so much for reading! And yeah I totally understand! Jack's reasoning is very arbitrary, but it's an angle I was going for. Just to show sometimes people don't even have a reason to be cruel, it's just in his psyche.

As for the scissors, it's really just intentional ambiguity so yes, you can view it that way.

    Once again, thanks so much for reading! I love the darker themed stories as well ;-;

I liked this! dark fics are my fave, which maybe is kinda weird but oh well. the only thing I have to say I didn't really like is the reasons Jack was hurting him? I don't know, they just seemed a little silly and unrealistic. and I'm confused as to what he did with the scissors- did he cut his eyelids off??? other than those things, I liked it, you wrote it nicely :-)
