i like this, it's cute and everything, but i don't think cataracts were the best thing to use?? like, i mean, they were bc they do cause blindness obviously, but they're visible from another person's standpoint, so before they got to the point of being beyond repair, they'd more than likely be seen by one of his parents or a doctor. i mean, they do still take those pictures of newborn babies when they're awake with their eyes open and everything, so i'm sure someone would've noticed that his pupils were cloudy. like, i don't know the medical practices in lebanon (like if you'd kept p much everything canon expect for jack being able to see then he'd still be born there and all) but jack's dad would still be a doctor so i'm sure it'd still be visible before the too late cut-off.
so yeah i mean what i'm basically trying to say is that i probs would've used something other than cataracts?? idk it's probs just me too bc i only know the bare minimum about cataracts so maybe i am wrong or smth?? but yeah overall v cute oneshot.
first of all thank you, and I'm thrilled you enjoyed reading it. second of all, I am not blind so I tried to do quite a bit of research. I did read that cataracts may cause blindness in infants if left untreated/unoticed. Of course, Its more than possible that I misunderstood that information or to have it be extremely rare for that to happen. Sorry if that sorta irked you, I tried my best to find an explanation for his blindness. Thanks for the criticism, it all helps!
