Secondly, I know you get tired of my gushing, but omigosh, I loved this!
I thought the time jumps were perfection, and I really admire the fact that you chose to tell this story in a non-linear fashion. I feel like having the silence and the aftermath of the fight at the opening of the story really helped to build the tension and peak the reader’s interest. As always, your use of description was superb, the characterization was spot-on, and the dialogue felt true.
But most of all, I think my favorite aspect of this piece was that, for the majority of the story, they’re fighting and not speaking to each other. I loved that the dynamic between them wasn’t so perfect, because it was entirely true to how they are as characters. Bellamy and Raven are both completely stubborn and headstrong as characters, so of course it’s going to lead to these massive blowups. As amazing as OTPs are, even they have their rough patches. I think the fact that they were in conflict for most of the piece made it that much more powerful when they reconciled in the end.
Anyways, I completely adored this. I definitely needed to stoke my Ravenbell feels, and this was a godsend.
