This is... Wow! Amazingly written, I dare say. I agree with gostbuster.—the house makes a splendid character, I nearly forgot who was narrating a moment. And I loved the repetition: it added a sorrowful, almost senior-citizen type of tone; which works perfectly for such an old house. I'm really happy to have read this ^-^ and I feel terrible for the house, as well as the family. Lol great job

Wow! This is hauntingly beautiful! Told from such a creative and unique perspective, but also told so perfectly that you forget an inanimate object is narrating. Excellent descriptions and your words just flow like poetry. By the end, I feel for both the family and the house, because you've made such a believable character out of it. I felt like I was reading an except from a prize-winning book. Very well done!!! I'd recommend this a thousand times if I could.
