Holy crap. Okay, honestly I can say that from reading the beginning and middle, I wasn't expecting that end. I was expecting Lana to give up fully as well, or for Mira to gain hope and then have Lana die, but I'm so pleased to see that that wasn't the case.

The fact that Mira ended up gaining hope as well was so lovely to see, especially when it began raining/storming afterward. Reading about their happiness made me smile so wide, especially when I truly thought the ending would be something heartbreaking.

Something else I loved about this was the way you talked about breaking the earth's heart and the impact that cruel people have on the earth, as well as other people. I thought it was a beautiful touch in the fic.

I wish I could rave on and on about this for days, but that would be such a long comment, I can't even. Your writing style is so amazing and easy to read, but so beautiful and complicated at the same time. I loved this!

This is a very haunting story - I also enjoyed the hopeful ending, which isn't entirely common in apocalyptic fiction. The prose is very poetic and flows nicely, aiding the elevation of your story along with your characterization of Lana and Mira to be about more than just the end of the world, but about what that could mean for the things left over. This is beautifully written and something that has stuck with me since I've read it.
