I like this plot a lot. I feel so bad for Alex and whatever he had been through. Interested to learn more about that. I like that Jack is so receptive and attentive to him instead of trying to run away.

Towards the end of chapter 4 I noticed a paragraph or so where the POV changes to Jack in first person and then switches back.

Great! Sorry about you writer's block, I know how much that can suck :( I hope you'll find some inspiration!
