ANYHOW i love this so much. the detail in the first chapter made me squirm, it was so good. i really wonder what she's done to end up in such a position - of course, with izaya, you don't really have to have done much at all aside from exist - but even if she's done something horrible, goodness, i feel really bad for her.
"His voice was dripping with ill intent, layered over an undertone of boredom. A vocal sneer if there ever was one." OKAY LET ME JUST FAWN OVER THIS LINE RIGHT QUICK. that is such a perfect description of his voice; i've watched in both dub and sub (& i feel no shame because the dub is equal parts hilarious and wonderful) and both have this certain tone for izaya that seems to carry over from one to the other and THIS IS IT THIS IS THE EXACT TONE YOU JGUESIHGUESHG THIS IS PERFECT.

OH GOD NANAKO I FEEL SO SO BAD FOR HER. we're back at it with fantastic description; in the words of my favorite little jerkwagon, it feels so human. it's real, you don't hold back any punches. everything that would happen in this situation, from thoughts to panic to her body reacting, is not covered up but instead given to us to put us even further into this situation and sharpen our own sense of dread. ughhhhh i love this so much.
"As I said, I was simply very bored." so bored you had to go fish some poor girl out and torture her.

you already know i loved this, but your mini commentary in the author's notes about izaya had me rolling.
he's someone i love to hate; i abhor his actions and his self, he’s irredeemably awful, but he makes things very interesting (and very hard) and can draw some great stories from his horridness, like this one!! i'll definitely be back to read this again just because i love it so.

OKAY BUT I LOVE YOU SO MUCH OH MY GOD. "Noodle ass legs" I'm sobbing you are the best human I swear. Also the dub has a special place in my hear because they don't talk shit HALF as much about Shizuo, which I didn't even realize til I started rewatching the sub recently. Like they all call him stupid a lot, especially in x2.
OKAY BUT LET ME LOVE YOU. I have found no other human that understands my feels about him.
Side note, a theme for Izaya Orihara. I've finally found it.
