Breathtaking, and heartbreaking. You did an amazing job capturing the raw moments after a tragic loss of a loved one. The details you put in really added to the somber atmosphere you created in this drabble. Which I found to be incredibly realistic; often times it's in the small things, either forgotten or things previously taken for granted where we miss the people no longer with us the most. I also liked how the emotional state of the narrator was captured. So soon after a tragedy where a person would still be in denial and shock of what happened, and I think you portrayed that very well.
I am in love with this piece! It's beautifully written and really encompasses the feeling surrounding grief the morning after someone is gone. I felt like I was right there, standing next to the narrator as they woke up and started their day. I can't wait to read more of your drabbles!
I'm absolutely floored by the level of skill in the way you encompass all of the senses through your brilliant use of description throughout the passage really managed to encapsulate every single feeling and sense, from sight to scent to even hearing.
I'm a sucker for introspection, and I both love and also hate how hard the main character is on herself, my heart is breaking into a million pieces for them.
Great read, thank you for sharing!
