Love's Requiem

"Huh?" I exclaimed looking up to see Niko standing there holding my hand. "Hey stranger." I smiled as I put my arm around his neck and we danced. "How'd you score an invite?" I asked him.

"The bride invited me herself, insisting I go." He explained.

"You don't say." I giggled.

"You look beautiful Isabella." He told me as the song stopped as we went back to the table.

"Just a lot of make up and this place is low lit." I told him as he shook his head. "Niko, this is the coolest person you will ever meet in your entire life, this is Jesse. Jesse, this is Niko." I said introducing the two.

"I get no introduction?" Niko joked, as he shook Jesse's hand, "It's nice to meet you."

"Same here, I've heard a lot about you over the years." Jesse nodded.

"Now that that's taking care of where the fuck is the food!" I groaned.

"Didn't you eat?" Jesse asked me.

"Does the gum that Denis gave me count" I asked as I lunged for the basket of rolls that was put on the table.

"How do you put up with her all the time?" Niko asked Jesse as he laughed at me.

"Not easy." Jesse shook his head.

"Hey Denis," I said looking at him across from me.

"What's up?" Denis asked as he took a roll as well.

"I see cheeseburgers." I said blankly trying to sound like the kid from the sixth sense movie.

"Oh Christ." He laughed at me.

After the appetizers were brought out and I finally couldn't hear my stomach any more Niko and I took a walk outside to get some fresh air.

"So how've you been?" I asked him.

"Can't complain that much." He chuckled, "Though I know you've been busy from what Luka showed me." He smirked.

"Don't tell me he showed you the videos too?" I exclaimed making him laugh.

"Very terrifying." He joked.

"Yeah, yeah laugh it up. I'll have you know that was the most fun ever. And Ken Susi told me if I ever wanted to have anal sex I could call him."

"I don't know who that is but I'm sure Alex loved that idea." He laughed.

"Yeah," I said lowly, as we headed inside.

I danced all night with Niko, Jesse, Denis, Michi and even my brother against his will. The wedding was fun, we were all sitting around waiting for cake when it was time to toss the bouquet.

"You know technically you should be going up there." Jesse whispered to me.

"Shut it." I mumbled back, "So Niko, we're all going to the beach tomorrow and you and the misses are more than welcome to come too." I said inviting him.

"Sure what time?"

"Uh" I paused to think.

"Can you be at our Baka's around 8?" Denis asked.

"Sure, we'll all go down together." Niko nodded as the bouquet landed right in my lap.

"Redo!" I shouted as I threw it back to Monica causing everyone in the room to laugh.

"So Isabella is there something you're not telling us?" Niko joked.

"Nope, that was out of bounds." I told him making him laugh.

"So you know what I don't understand?" Jesse asked me as we got back to my grandma's after everything.

"Quantum physics?" I joked as I took my shoes off seeing as I was drunk and my shoes made it impossible to walk.

"No, if Niko is married where was his wife tonight?"

"You know I was thinking the same thing." I told him as he helped me up.

"Maybe she's sick?"

"Probably." I nodded as we headed upstairs to go to sleep.

The next morning, I awoke to the worst headache imaginable and unfortunately couldn't even sleep it off because Denis would be here any minute.

"Come on Bella, get up." Jesse said yanking the blanket I had wrapped around me.

"Ugh." I groaned as I rolled over falling out of bed and on to the floor. "Fuck!" I groaned in to the floor.

I picked myself up off the floor and headed to the bathroom with my bathing suit and a pink dress to wear over it. I slumped down the stairs while I clipped my hair up and headed to the kitchen to get some thing to drink so I could take some tylenol.

"There she is." Denis said obnoxiously as I walked in the kitchen to find him, Jesse and my grandma packing a cooler with food for the beach.

"Isabella you shouldn't drink so much." My grandma told me while I fought with the fridge.

"I wasn't drinking I was celebrating." I mumbled as I rested my head against the fridge, seconds later the doorbell rang.

"I'll get it." Jesse chuckled as Denis opened the fridge for me.

"Show off." I mumbled in Croatian to him.

"What's up with her?" Niko asked following Jesse in to the kitchen where I was holding my head in my hands.

"She decided to extend last call last night." Jesse explained.

"How about I extend my fist in your ginger kid face Ketive?" I groaned, as Denis slammed the cooler closed.

"Come on princess." Jesse laughed, as I got up and put my sunglasses on.
