Serena: A Whole New Breed of Vampire

I was pacing nervously in the darkened meadow. It was about 7:45 we were meeting at 8 and the wolves would be here at any moment. We had called the school told them the Cullen children and I had the flu, we had picked it up in Seattle, and wouldn’t be back all week. Now I was covered till the fight I would train nonstop we had three days and counting we knew it would be around afternoon on Friday at the peek of the extreme cold front. It was always cold here but a foot and a half of snow was unusual in March, but that is what would happen Friday.

Back to the present, I paced at a human pace up and down the middle of the meadow waiting for the wolves they didn’t know about the numbers quadrupling there were approximately 80 give or take a few newborns. We hoped it would drop to 70 from internal attacks by Friday. I was a nervous wreck and Lulu kept right with me pacing back and forth Edward lounged on a quilt talk strategy with Jasper, Esme and Katrina watched me nervously, and Alice and Rose were tag teaming Emmett for fun, when the twig snapped alerting us of the wolves arrival.

Four wolves emerged. Sam, Paul, Leah, and Jacob appeared in wolf formed “We have a problem” I said sadly walking to my three new friends and current enemy “and you” I hissed to the russet wolf “stay out of my way or I will snap you” the large and small grey wolf coughed laughs and the black one shook his head

“Back on topic darling, please” Edward said holding me close to his chest and kissing my temple

“Right” I nodded my head “We miscounted” I whispered

Miscounted what? Sam questioned

“The newborns” Edward answered I saw the wolves’ features harden

How many? Leah’s voice said in a cold monotone I felt the fear radiate from them for the answer

“At least 70 maybe more around 80 maybe even 90 it was to chaotic in the vision to count” I felt their panic rise “Wait before you begin to panic. We have a secret weapon like nothing you’ve seen before”

What? it was Leah this time

“Me” I smiled I felt Edward stiffen

“Don’t forget me” Katrina said standing next to me the wolves were stunned by our likenesses they surprisingly didn’t imprint on Katrina I was thankful for that

The large black wolf disappeared followed by the rest they reappeared in human from I bound over to Leah who wore short shorts and a sports bra “Lee Lee” I cooed jumping on her.

“You two what can you possibly do?” Paul scoffed before affectionately messing with my long blonde locks

“Well” I blinked and had big baby blues and a sleek black bob. The wolves gaped I flicked threw 2 more looks before changing back to my normal look “and you all know I can phase into any animal” they nodded

“That is the easy stuff” Katrina scoffed “We are basically a sponge. We absorb any power we come in contact with, and trust me when you are my age you absorb a lot of powers. I’m going to coach Serena on the best powers and soon we will be the best weapon for this battle” Katrina smiled

“How old are you?” Sam asked looking curious a new emotion for him

“Over two thousand years old” she smiled

“You aged well” Paul said as Leah set me on the ground

“Show us some of what you can do” Leah said pushing me towards the middle of the meadow.

I looked around puzzled and decided to do something easy. I sat on the ground and set both palms on the meadow floor I began pulling and funneling water towards my body and let it rise from the ground. I sat floating on the gushing water next I moved the air around my body as I redistributed the water around the meadow. I use the air to dry the earth around me next I ripped the earth from its place and sat floating mid air on a boulder sized hunk of earth, I crumbled the earth back into place and sat softly on fresh churned soil. Next I set the grass in a perfect circle around me ablaze keeping it contained and let it crawl towards me. Leah and Jacob made a break to ‘save me’ but were restrained as the fire crawled up my legs and over my entire body I opened my eyes and smiled at a shocked Leah threw the flame. Last I extinguished the flame like a light. I took a deep breath and imagined green grass around me I focused all my energy on those little pieces of green grass and when I opened my eyes I was sitting on a bed of three inch pieces of fresh green grass. I collapsed and lay on the ground tired from my little show

Edward was at my side holding me before I hit the ground, and Leah, Paul and Sam followed quickly “I’m fine” I said smiling brightly still extremely tired “Nothing a little cat nap wont fix” I purred reaching for Leah. She took me and carried me to the quilt on the edge of the designated training area. Edward stayed close looking worried as Katrina made her way towards me “Edward train. I’ll be awake in 20 I promise” I said closing my eyes and laying my head on Leah’s lap

I yawned and stretched feeling hot skin on my face. I smiled up at Leah and stood stretching and popping different joints. I watched Jasper and Emmett demonstrate how to properly attack a newborn. I watched fascinated as Edward crept behind me and wrapped his arms tight around my middle. “Love you” I sighed holding him close

“Love you too Darling” he murmured kissing my neck

I heard a deep growl and Jacob’s cruel thought floated threw my head Leech just wants to fucking suck her dry

“Jacob” I screamed “Can you not take a hint?” I stormed threw the practice ring Ripping apart Jasper and Emmett who stood in my way with hurricane winds. Both boys went flying as i now stood glaring into the chocolate eyes of the russet wolf in front of me “I love Edward. I love him, not you”

I can’t help it he pleaded to me I was the true imprint for you. My feelings are stronger than anyone else in the pack. You are the reason I breath now. I’m sorry I can’t help. Give me a chance please he pleaded really putting on the puppy eyes. I was surprised when I heard no thoughts from Edward that upset me for some reason.

“Jacob” I said slowly he nearly melted at my voice “Maybe if Edward and I had never met if I had never experienced his love we might have been able to work. I have experienced his love and it is a heavenly drug that I refuse to give up especially for some puppy. I love Edward from this day till the end of the earth. I love him and no one will ever take him from me. NO ONE. You are causing yourself pain get over me I will never ever love you only Edward for a all of eternity. You’re just shit out of luck when it comes to me” I stormed back over to Edward and wrapped him in a hug “Why weren’t you thinking anything?” I asked worried

He let out a sigh and drug me closer to his deliciously cold hard body “I thought you were leaving me for him my brain just shut off at the thought of losing you”

“Never” I murmured kissing his lips “Katrina teach me a new power please” I begged walking to her

“Fine dear come with me” she took my hand and smiled at me “You know I think that Jacob boy was supposed to be your shape shifter lover” she murmured linking her arm with my own

“I don’t care I love Edward more than anything” I said shaking my head

“I know darling you forget I have Marcus’s power I can feel the bond between you and Edward it is the strongest love I have ever encountered” Katrina chuckled pulling on a lock of my blonde hair

“Yes” She nodded solemnly “ I don’t think the gods could have broken the bond between Edward and you. You’re simply to powerful of a being I suppose” she said a sly smile on her face

“What?” I questioned no comprehending

“I think perhaps you maybe the most powerful creature to have walked the earth, ever.” She said slowly

“What?!?!” I called out again “How could that be?”

“I couldn’t manipulate nature even grass until I was 200 years old. Melissa do you understand me yet. I also couldn’t fully absorb a power until I had seen it preformed several times you absorb it easily with out fail after one viewing. I think there is something different between you and I but we are almost the same. I don’t quite know yet maybe evolution development strengthened your genes. I don’t know nor do I truly care. You are the most powerful immortal to be born or created since the ancient Greek Gods themselves. Do you see now?” she said grasping my shoulders

I blinked slowly and nodded “I’m special” I said slowly it was all so surreal I turned and saw everyone had been listening I scowled and snapped slightly “We have three days. Train” everyone went back to their business as they had before “Now teach me” I said smoothly.

“What would you like to learn?” she asked her smile bright and huge

“Everything” I said she disappeared and reappeared behind me “Cool” I whispered

“Try to teleport it might drain you a bit, but imagine your body where you want it to go and then release your self from you current position. Kinda just imagine yourself fading then reappearing where you want to go”

I closed my eyes and envisioned my self in the middle of the training ring. I opened my eyes and flipped Emmett as he continued charging towards Jasper, but I now stood in his path “Hi Emmett” I smiled looking down at him on the ground “you were going to hit me” I smiled before offering him my hand

“How did you do that?” he asked looking at me in awe I shrugged and popped back to Katrina

“Quick learner” she smirked “Ok” she said “Lets try multiples this is kinda difficult so we will start with making two” she smiled and suddenly two other Katrina’s materialized in front of me each had green eyes but were the same except for that. “they keep our original eyes for one reason, so you can figure out which is which” she smiled “touch one they have their own minds” I reached out and touched the left one’s wrist

“Hello” clone one said

“Hello Ivy” Clone two said next

“This is freaky” I said looking at the two replications

“They can die and I will feel no pain, but they can fight on their own without me purposefully thinking for them which is so nice” the real Katrina said

“Ok Ivy lets try” She made her clones disappear and took my hands “Focus darling, imagine your taking two small pieces of your brain and for a being around them I know it is vague but you can do it just concentrate”

I concentrated making these clones out of air sculpting the outline of their body’s and giving each a bit of my brain it was hard and tiring I sighed opening my eyes to see two girls identical to myself looking back at me “Do I really look like this” I asked touching one’s hair and the other’s cheek. My clones smiled and affectionately hugged me “Hello Ivy” they chorused together

“Can I give one of these to the mutt as a Christmas present?” I asked Katrina

“I don’t think so” she giggled

“I tried” I smiled imagining the girls back into the air. My mind felt whole again “It was odd like my mind was spilt and fluttered around you know” Katrina nodded “lets do physical training know”

“Ok” Katrina grabbed my hand and lead me to the quilt we sat and Edward immediately appeared and wrapped me tightly in his arms

“Hi baby” I murmured hearing low growl from the woods I glared searching threw the dark and caught Jacob’s eyes and hissed at him. He sunk back further into the shadows looking like he had been kick “I need to do physical training now. Did you see me teleport?” I asked turning in his arms my arms wrapped loosely around his neck as I eagerly added “Did you see me multiply?” my eyes were no doubt glowing yellow and wide like an excited child

“Yes darling I saw” Edward said smoothing my hair and pecking my lips “Jasper is ready to train with you” I nodded and stood

I saw Jasper smiling and smiled back “Now” he began “a newborn has brute strength and no skills be sure to stay out of their grasp or they will crush you” I nodded “Now try to attack me then we will move onto Emmett” Jasper began to prowl around in a stand off with me. I was aware that Paul Leah Sam and Jacob along with the family were watching intently. I kicked off my converse and flexed my toes feeling the ground hum under my feet. The wind swirled a bit lifting my hair and distributing my scent around the area. I blinked and popped behind Jasper I gave him a quick hard burst of air in the back causing him to tumble forward. His head flipped around and looked at me. He playfully snarled and I hissed playfully back. I sounded so much more feline than the boys did. Jasper charged me and I burst a wave of air to send me flying several feet in the air before he could have hit me. I landed squarely on his shoulders causing us to plummet and me to pin him face down on the ground my teeth around the back of his neck a light playful hiss leaving my lips. I stood up and helped him dust off the dirt from his shirt “Sorry Jaz” I giggled looking at him

“Well I guess we don’t have to worry to much about you or Katrina” He chuckled “But just to be sure Emmet” he gestured and a smiling Emmet came forward

“Let’s see what you got Sis” he said cockily cracking his knuckles

“He so shouldn’t have said that” Leah whispered to Paul as I smiled wickedly my bare feet digging into the earth. Paul nodded wide-eyed as I flashed them both a smile before Emmet charged my tiny body. I spun kicking him in the back sending him stumbling. Rosalie and Alice chuckled to themselves as Emmet straightened up.

“Don’t go easy on me Emmet. I may be your little sis but I so am not weak. Bring It” I said gesturing standing up right not even in the crouched defensive position he held “Come on bro” I encouraged as I split my body quickly into 5 Serena’s “Bring it” we purred quickly shuffling ourselves to disorient him.

He gapped and said “Serena, Sis I need to know the real you so I wont truly hurt you” he seemed to be pleading

I giggled and said “I have purple eyes they have green” we continued to spin in a loose circle around him suddenly he hit one of my clones. He bit her neck as the other three pounced on him. My brain gained back piece after piece as she disappeared into air soon followed by her three sisters. My brain now felt whole once again. I clicked behind him and pounced on his back slamming him into the earth. I felt the vibrations of the damage up my spin before, in a split second, he threw me off his back I skid on the ground tearing it up a bit before hoping on all fours and growling.

One moment I was a tiny girl the next I was a panther stalking her prey, with the remain of my sweats littering the broken earth. My thick black tail flicked back and forth. As I purred egging Emmet on. He watched me carefully as I stalked closer and closer. Suddenly I pounced he was caught off guard and he bat me away open palmed sending my flying. I landed on my feet as Edward sighed in his head. I’m fine I purred even inside my head I had a sexual feline sound to my thoughts. I snarled my lips curling over my teeth showing off the pointy little daggers as sharp as any werewolf’s I snapped at Emmet. My body vibrating along with the earth around me.

“Sis am I upsetting you?” Emmet teased playfully before lunging full force at me. I leapt and within a second was a wolf with my jaws wrapped around his neck. One twist and he was dead. Emmet scowled at me from between my large sharp teeth “You win Sis” he groaned giving up. I released turning into my panther and stalking over to Edward. I pounced on him we fell to the ground. I rubbed affectionately on his chest and purred his fingers scratching my head softly

“Katrina” Edward’s voice asked as he sat up “Do you have extra clothes?” I sat my large head in his lap as he continued petting me. I purred contently digging closer into his lap.

“No I didn’t bring any” she frowned

I yawned licking my whiskers contently. Leah laughed along with Paul as Edward smiled and said “No big miss kitty here is sleepy we will go home. How much longer will everyone train?” Edward asked towards the others

“2 maybe 3 more hours be home around midnight or one” Jasper smiled as Carlisle and Sam nodded

Edward stood and I took off into the night blending seamlessly with the world around me, and with Edward right by my side.
