Serena: A Whole New Breed of Vampire

Serena’s POV:

“Lupa was so sad when we left” I giggled as Alice Rose and I snapped pictures in the limo on the way to prom.

“I know poor puppy she is getting big though. We will have a girly movie night tomorrow after your birthday party” Alice smirked as I glared lightly at her

“I don’t need a party though I have everything I need here excluding Lupa and Esme and Carlisle” I pouted crossing my arms like I was four

“You’ll cause wrinkles” Rose chastised slapping my hands

“Ow mom” I glared softly before we all burst out laughing including the guys the limo stopped and I cheered “We are here!!!!” Edward and I were the farthest form the door so we would be last to get out “I’m sorry you have to go with me I know you’ve gone to like a billion of these” I muttered looking at Edward

“I’m happy to be going with you this is the first prom I will truly enjoy” he murmured kissing me softly as Alice’s head popped in and glared “We are coming” Edward groaned as he helped me shift so I could get out. Alice looped her arm with mine but we all stopped when the smell hit us.

I flipped around and saw Leah walking up “LEELEE” I yelled anxiously as I walked as fast as possible in these death traps called stilettos towards her

“Don’t you look pretty” She smiled spinning me slowly in a circle “I only came to tell you that there is no trace of Bellary in over a hundred mile radius hopefully she will be gone for a while” Leah smiled sweetly at me hugging me once more before she pressed me towards the family “We’ll be watching” she smiled winking softly before turning and disappearing into the woods

I shook my head and swiftly walked to Edward who was waiting patiently for me. I looped my arm with his kissing his lips softly as he guided me towards the gym. Inside the gym was done up just like a movie I had to laugh at the irony

“This is like every other prom” I whined “I was hoping it would be special” I gazed up at him as Alice and Rose and the others drifted closer to us “For you” I muttered looking up into his golden eyes.

“Oh my little goddess” he murmured his hand sweeping along my jaw “This is special because you are here” he leaned forward and lightly kissed me again.

Alice’s voice broke our moment “Love birds” she called stalking towards us “Go take your pictures and meet us on the dance floor” she commanded pointing

“I don’t wanna take pictures” I whined narrowing my eyes at Edward

“We need to take pictures” he muttered looking wearily at Alice as he drug me to the picture area “I can protect you from anyone but my sister” Edward said shrugging as I glared at him. Soon we were snapping pictures. After about 12 pictures we were done.

Edward and I walked arm and arm towards the dance floor where the other two couples were gracefully spinning round and round making the other kids gape. “May I have this dance?” Edward asked offering his hand

“You may” I smiled settling my hand in his as he lead my onto the basketball court turned dance floor. We floated around in a gentle circled as Edward stared transfixed at my face “Why are you looking at me?” I asked confused

“You look beautiful tonight” he murmured dipping to kiss my lips gently as the slow song came to and end. A rap song filled the room and the kids around us immediately began grinding on one another and hyping up.

Edward made a move to leave the dance floor but I grabbed his hand stopping him “Let’s dance” I smirked stepping closer to him pressing my body flush against his.

“No I don’t dance like this” he scolded sneering around at the kids around us

“Not even for me” I pouted looking up at him I felt and heard his resolve crumbling I leaned up and whispered in his ear “You’ll like it I promise” with that he was putty in my fingers. His arms molded around my waist as I pressed up closer to him. Our hips moved perfectly together as we rocked our bodies gyrating gently to the beat his eyes seemed to bore down on me as I smiled up at him throwing my arms around his neck “Thank you baby” I giggled as I pulled his face to mine pressing our lips gently together as our hips picked up speed. The song ended, but Edward and I didn’t part our lips continued to clash lightly as our hips slowed to a slow sensual grind that didn’t fit the song that was now playing over the speakers

I broke away gasping he may not need air, but I still do, after about 10 minutes I need air “I liked that” He mumbled holding me close to his body I was surprised but excited at his movements. I draped my arms around his neck as he set his chin on the top of my head

“This is perfect” I sighed happily

“Yes Yes it is” Edward said his smooth cool lips kissing my head once more before we silently swayed slowly in a sea of grinding teens

We were the only ones there in our own little world it was perfection, but perfection is only temporary. Alice’s voice broke our perfect bubble “I never thought I would ever see Edward grind in my lifetime” she squealed as her and Jasper joined us swaying gently to the now slow song.

“Alice you ruined the moment” Edward groaned still cradling me close to his hard body.

I giggled “It is fine Alice” I said reaching my hand out she laced her fingers with mine as we danced slowly with the loves of our lives

“Oh did I tell you” Alice said sounding confused

“No” I said sounding even more confused

“Perfect you have a job lined up next week it is for deodorant I think” She mumbled looking at the ceiling

“Deodorant?” Edward asked chuckling looking down at me his dark amber eyes glowing with amusement

“It is a job” I huffed “I’m excited this will be very fun” I said looking back at Alice. I noticed Rose dragging Emmett onto the dance floor and giggled “Aww Emmett you don’t want to dance?” I pouted my lips and talked like I would to a small child

“Oh shut up” he growled pulling Rose close as we all danced chatting threw several slow songs.

A fast pop song blared threw the speakers and all the boys groaned “I think I’m gonna go sit down” Jasper said slipping away from a slightly glaring Alice

“I think I’ll keep Jasper company” Emmett said walking slowly backwards away from Rose who cursed as he disappeared into the wall of bodies

Edward glanced anxiously at where his brothers had disappeared to before he glanced down at me asking permission “go on” I giggled pulling away from him and towards Alice

“Thank you” he sighed and took off as fast as he could while looking human

“Boys” Alice huffed one her hands grasping mine as Rose grabbed the other

“I know” Rose sighed as we began moving and goofing to the pop music

I was perched on Emmett’s my feet didn’t even brush the ground making him laugh hysterically “You’re even tinnier than Alice I’m amazed” he chuckled

I slapped him upside the head and hissed “I don’t need to be reminded of the obvious, Jack ass” I hopped up off of his lap and stepped towards Alice who was about two inches taller than me

“It is ok honey” Alice muttered hugging me “We like you tiny and just the way you are”

“Yeah it makes you way more fun in a fight” Rose giggled as she kicked Emmett before saying “Quite messing with her she can’t help but be tiny”

“Fine Rose” He smiled pulling her gently into his lap his thoughts went something like this I would much rather be messing with you any way maybe we can play that game again. Oh god that was the best sex we had had in awhile well besides…

“EMMETT!!!” I screeched covering my ears and shutting off my powers gagging “I did not need to know that” I hissed glaring at the cackling vampire

“Your face” he laughed as Rose and the others looked confused “Don’t be in my head then”

“I didn’t mean to” I growled “I lost concentration and your thoughts are like screaming sex crazed monkeys. They bombard from all sides” I hissed glaring at him pointedly my eyes flecked with orange for annoyance

“What did you hear?” Rose asked looking like she would be blushing if she had blood

“I so am not repeating that” I said. I’m sure as I looked horrified as I gazed at Rose “I can’t even believe that last part” I gasped as Rose looked even more bashful hiding slightly in Emmett’s large form

Alice and Edward were laughing hysterically and Jasper was smiling at the odd couple and my horrified face. “Love you can’t let your guard down around Emmett you should know that” Edward chuckled picking me up gently his hand aught mine in a chilly steel grip

I smiled squeezing his hand softly muttering “I’ll remember that next time to save my virgin brain” I grinned still feeling the need to gag at the images swimming my mind.

Suddenly an image of Edward and I was pressed into my mind. We were on our bed back home and he seemed to devour me in kisses his hands were like water all over my body I could almost feel it. I shivered my eyes no doubt dreamy and far off “Glad to get your attention” Edward muttered in my ear “Now would you join me for a walk?” he asked holding out and arm

“Of course” I smiled looping my arm with his letting him guide me quickly out to the back that had been transformed into something magical. A gazebo showered in lights and a path way had been set up “Beautiful” I murmured letting my fingers grasp at his sleeve.

“Yes you are” Edward mumbled taking my hand gently in his and leading me to the gazebo. I blush the light pink barely tinting my pale skin as my heart sputters at his sweet cliché words “There’s My little goddess” he whispered letting his cool cheek caress my slightly warmer than normal cheek making my blush brighter

“Stop it Edward” I muttered feeling the urge to hide shyly from his adoring eyes. we arrived in the gazebo and I saw the swinging bench suspended just past the gazebo from a large tree.

“Come on” He said his eyes never leaving my face as he tugged me towards the bench he sat own and I sat beside him my legs not even touching the ground. Edward gazed at me then frowned “Your dress” he murmured touching the white silk

“It is fine” I muttered but that didn’t stop him from picking me up and setting him on his clean lap using his vampire speed. I rolled my eyes and muttered “You just wanted and excuse to have me in your lap”

He smiled slightly pushing us back and forth in a gentle rocking motion “Bingo” he whispered kissing my shoulder sweetly “Now love watch the sunset” he lightly turned my head towards the sky. I giggled and rested my head gently on his shoulder watching the colors of the sky blend and change beautifully

“This is my favorite time of day just before the sunset disappears” I murmured looking at Edward as the sun finally slipped away

“Serena” I looked at Edward concerned here was a slight wobble in his voice “I love you” his words were sincere as he grasped my hand and kissed my palm “I was planning to save this for your birthday, but I can’t wait. Serena I love you and I want to spend the rest of eternity with you. You make my day brighter and you have brought me out of my shell you are my personal sun. My family can’t imagine life without you and you even charmed Rose that is impossible. Serena what I’m asking is will you accept this” he pulled out a tiffany’s ring box and I raised an eyebrow “It isn’t an engagement ring, but I have one of those too if you want it, but this is just a promise ring saying one day I will put that engagement ring on you finger” he opened the box and I saw a simple platinum band with tiny amethyst stones all the way around the ring “Same color as your eyes” he murmured pulling out the ring and placing the tiffany blue box back in his pocket “Will you accept it?” He asked his hand holding out the this delicate rind between us

“Of course” I murmured fighting tears as I held out my trembling hand. He slid the ring onto my finger before kissing my palm and then my wrist “It is beautiful” I murmured gazing at the delicate band on my thin finger “I love it” I kissed his lips and said “and I love you”

“I love you too” then he stood up setting me gently on my feet “Rose and Alice are getting impatient” he took my hand his thumb gliding over the band. He smiled and led me back into the gym so we could finish our prom night together with our family

Serena’s POV:

I glared as Alice blind folded me. I had already scoped the others minds they were all translating or thinking of something meaningless. “I told you no parties” I growled pouting as she tugged me down the hall towards the living room

“And I didn’t listen” she sang back her voice sounding like a flute

I huffed wanting to cross my arms but not being able to from her tight grip on my thin wrist “ Alice” I growled as we stepped into the living room I could sense the family all around me, I felt their happiness and anxiety, I could smell something sweet and strawberry, but I saw nothing

“Ok Ok” she sighed and the blindfold was gone making my blonde hair swirl. I gasped in front of me was a table filled with presents and a large strawberry with cream cheese icing cake my name written in pretty blue green letters across he cake with happy birthday written in purple. I smiled looking at each and every face they all smiled happily at me shock

“This is to much and all those present you all shouldn’t have” I said gesturing to the huge cake meant to feed about a fifty people “And how am I supposed to eat that cake by myself”

“That’s the second half of the surprise” Alice giggled running to the front door I heard it open and foot steps walk threw the door my nose picked up the strong woodsy scent. I screamed and took off down the hall there leaned Leah, Paul, Jared, Kim, Seth, Emily, Embry, Quil, and small child was wrapped in Quil’s arms

“You didn’t think all those presents were just from us did you?” Alice asked gesturing to the pack.

“Lee Lee” I yelled running to her she wrapped me in tight hug

“Happy Birthday S” she smiled pulling me back to look at me she smiled brightly and said “Now I here Emily and Esme are teaming up to cook for us”

“Really?” I gasped as if on queue my stomach rumbled at the thought of food

“Like clock work” Paul teased pulling me form a glaring Leah and giving me a large hug “Rachel told me to tell you she cant wait to meet you this summer, and Jacob was sulking so he didn’t come” Paul chuckled

“Can’t wait to meet her. You gonna pop the question this summer?” I nudged his ribs with my elbow

“Hell no” he muttered as we all moved into the living room

I giggled and stepped to Kim hugging both her and Jared they gave my happy birthday’s before moving to talk to Paul and Embry. “Who is this pretty little girl?” I asked stepping towards Quil, Sam, Emily, and the little girl still clutching to Paul talking animatedly.

“This is Claire” Quil said sweetly “Claire baby do you want to tell Serena Happy Birthday” he looked at the tiny three year-old like she was a shinning star

Her blue eyes swung towards me they were wide as she looked at me. She was beautiful big navy blue eyes dark russet skin and long black waves that hung thickly down her back. “Happy Birthday” she said her sweet voice high and timid. Suddenly her hands were stretching out towards me grabbing. I reached out and took her form a slack jawed Quil “Rena” she murmured touching my face “So pretty” her hands went to touch my hair as she asked “Are you a Princess?”

“No sweet girl I’m not a princess” I smiled tucking her hair behind her ear as she clung closer to me holding on for dear life her tiny arms around my neck she seemed comforted by my slightly chilled skin

“Wow” Emily muttered as the tiny girl looked at her form my shoulder “She normally will not let go of Quil when he is around” I looked at Quil confused and he was pouting like a small child

“Claire Bear come back to Quilly let’s go get cake” he bribed reaching out towards the small girl

She glared cutely and huffed “No I want Rena” as she held tighter to my neck

Quil gapped and looked offended that the little girl didn’t jump to him I giggled and said “Claire do you want to help me and Aunt Emily in the kitchen with Esme” she nodded not lifting her head from my neck “Come on Emily” She giggled and followed close behind us as Claire chatted about what she wanted for dinner

Edward’s POV:

Lupa was licking Claire as Esme, Emily, Kim, Leah, and Serena all worked to make dinner. Rose and Alice were setting places at the table for all of those who could eat. It was loud and crazy and fun everyone was happy content even with the stench of the others. We were here for no other reason then to make Serena happy. Serena was smiling helping with the fried chicken before fluttering down to play with Claire who was always inches from her feet looking at her adoringly. She would make such a wonderful mother

Serena’s eyes snapped to me holding my gaze from the other room she seared threw my heart and soul finding the truth she wanted Only if you’re the father she whispered in my head. She smiled softly before turning to Claire who tugged gently on Serena’s sweater “Yes sweetheart” Her voice seemed to calm a bit of the commotion around her as people turned to watch her and Claire

“I want to help” the little three year-old said looking at Serena

“Hmm” Serena looked away from the little girl and scanned the large kitchen for a job “Let’s do mashed potatoes” Serena smiled tugging up the girl Lupa following. She now reached to about my knee the pup was growing quickly.

“LeeLee” Serena smiled holding Claire to her hip “Claire wants to help with mashed potatoes” Serena said her fingers running gently threw the small girl’s hair

“Of course” Leah handed the mixer to the little girl and clicked it on. Serena and Leah worked with

I smiled leaning against the kitchen doorway my eyes were fixed on the laughing girls. Claire had smeared potatoes allover Serena’s cheek making Leah and Claire giggle as Serena wiped it off eating it claiming they needed butter. “She is great with Claire” Alice said touching me as Rose flitted into the kitchen to further help out

“I know” I smiled mournfully gazing at my little goddess

“Everything will work out who knows maybe you can give her a child the future is never certain especially involving Serena” Alice spoke quickly and quietly so only I could here

“You never know” I smiled hugging my sister before pushing of the door and walking into the living room to see Emmet and Paul arm wrestling like old buddies “Don’t break the table” I chuckled patting a straining Emmet’s shoulder

Serena’s POV:

The dishes had been cleared and it was time for presents before we cut the cake. Claire was perched on my knee refusing to be further than six inches form me. The tiny girl was so adorable I happily coddled her. “Us First” Emily exclaimed handing me a shiny silver sack
“This is from Claire, Sam and I” She smiled sweetly at me.

I took out the paper and tickled little Claire with it before quickly folding it up I reached inside and pulled out a beautiful antique box. I opened it up and found it to be a beautiful wooden musical jewelry box tucked inside was a sheet of paper. I pulled it out and unfolded it. The note was Emily’s blueberry muffin recipe “This is amazing truly I love it” I listen closer to the tune and it wasn’t something familiar but it was beautiful “Thank you so much and Emily you’re to sweet”

“Now no giving that away it is only for you and Esme” she pointed at me

I saluted ad said “Gottcha”

“Ours next” Kim exclaimed holding out a wrapped box

“Claire want to take off the paper” I asked she nodded and began shredding it some dropping to the floor where LuLu began playing with it “Silly LuLu” I giggled

“Silly Lu” Claire said her voice still having that adorable baby lisp while she was looking down at the growing wolf pup. Lupa barked her multi colored eyes bright as she danced around our feet making everyone laugh.

I hugged Claire laughing and took the top off the box that was in both our laps “Kim you shouldn’t have” I said pulling out the adorable dress it would hit about mid thigh on me and had a decent v-neck

“It was cute and it screamed Serena” she said waving her hand

I shook my head and went to argue but was interrupted “Our turn” It was Embry and Quil they shoved a crumpled bag with a few pieces of tissue paper into my hands. Claire quickly yanked the paper away making it fly threw the air as she giggled I pulled out a new sketch book, a box of colored pencils, and some charcoal pencils

“Thank you” I gasped cradling it to my chest

“We remembered you saying how your sketch pad was full” Embry said and Quil finished “And how your pencils were stubs so we got you those”

“This is great guys” I muttered feeling so thank full “Thank you”

“My turn” Seth smiled he handed me a thick envelope. I quickly ripped it open and pulled out an IOU book I flipped threw there were several cliff diving trips, and days at the beach when it was sunny

“I love it” I smiled leaning forward across Leah and gave him a tight hug.

Leah smiled at me as Paul said “Ok my turn” He handed my a small bag with white tissue “My isn’t quite as good as the others but…” he trailed off as I pulled out the paper

I peeked and Claire helped me pull out four CD’s, a very nice pair of in ear buds, and an “S” guitar pick “Wow I needed headphones mine got washed” I laughed

Paul sighed and smiled “Rachel drew the cover art and helped pick out the songs I remembered you telling me you needed some new music and headphones for you iPod. I did ok?” he asked nervously making everyone laugh

“You did great” I said patting his giant hand with my tiny pale one “LeeLee then the family’ I said smiling at the pretty russet skinned girl beside me

“Fine” she giggled and smiled brightly at me she handed me a tiny box with a simple slide off top.

I handed Claire the box and she yanked off the top the entire room laughed as I extracted the shining silver fang necklace. I giggled as Claire swung the necklace back and forth on my finger “Really LeeLee” I giggled looking at her

“Put it on” She commanded I quickly fastened the pretty trinket around my neck “I have one to but…” she pulled out a gold chin from beneath her shirt I laughed seeing the twinkling wolf hanging around her neck “I couldn’t decide if we should switch or not but I remembered you liked silver better than gold so I just gave you fangs” she smiled setting her own necklace outside of her shirt.

“I like it” I murmured running my fingers gently across the necklace

“My turn” Alice sang “This is from Jasper and I” she handed me a gorgeous envelope. I looked at her puzzled and opened the envelope. I pulled out first a shinny black credit card that matched all the other family members and on the card it read Serena M. Cullen “You’re officially on the bankroll” she giggled an I rolled my eyes

Next I pulled out two plane tickets they were addressed to Volterra, Italy “Alice?”

“So you can go spend some of the summer with Katrina they are for you and Edward he wants to show you Europe.” She smiled brightly Jasper smiled softly at me hugging his wife in a quick side hug

“Thank you Alice” I smiled brightly at her

“Ok Emmet and I have a joint gift and I have a specific gift for you” Rose smiled and Emmet gaped at her

“You didn’t say you got her something else” everyone laughed as Emmet shoved a large box towards me. I ripped the paper off and revealed a car stereo “We are going to redo you bug everything will look like new”

“Oh that will be so nice thank you both” I gushed looking at the amazing sound system box in front of me

“Ok now mine” Rose said smiling she slid a small box clear across the table. It was wrapped prettily in rose colored paper and I let Claire destroy the paper to everyone’s delight as she giggled. She opened the top and I gasped smiling at the small family crest necklace the pendent was a bit larger than a quarter and I got teary eyed looking at it “I thought since you have officially been part of the family for so long you deserved one” Rose smiled holding Emmet’s hand I sniffled.

I gently set Claire on the chair before appearing in front of Rose I held her close hugging her tight “Thank you for accepting me” I sniffled whipping away my sparkling disappearing tears. I squeezed Alice’s hand before appearing once again Claire on my lap and next to Leah.

“Ours and then I think Edward gets a few minutes with you” Carlise smiled Esme nodded along with him

I grabbed the two largest gifts. I let Claire help me tear into the large box I gasped seeing a bran new easel. Then we ripped out the paper on the large bag and saw bran new brushes and paints I was stunned “This is all to much you al are so wonderful and I don’t know how to accept al these amazing gifts” I sniffled hugging Claire gently to my chest

“We love doing this for you” Esme said dismissing me and everyone nodded their heads easily agreeing with my mother figure

“Now I believe it is my turn” Edward said holding his hand out to me as I handed a pouting Claire over to an eager Quil.

“Yes it is your turn. We will be back in a bit then we will do cake” I smiled as Edward lead me out the back door towards the garden

“CAKE!!!!” I heard hoots and hollers as we disappeared outside I giggled pressing closer to Edward despite the chilly air

Edward lead me towards my favorite Lilies and sat me on the bench that sat next to the pretty white flowers “Here love” he smiled pulling out a box wrapped prettily in violet paper

“Edward I told you not to buy me a gift” I scolded glaring at him slightly trying to give him back the gift

He caught my wrist and chuckled “I didn’t this is just a family trinket that I want you to have like those earring you wore last night” He smiled one of his hands caressing my face. His thumb brushed over my eyebrow across my cheek and finally outlined my lips gently. I puckered pressing a soft kiss to his thumb as his thumb caressed my lower lip. He smiled softly pulling away completely from me “Open it” he urged

I smiled a the excitement swimming in his eyes “Fine” I ripped off the pretty paper and snapped open the black box. I gasped inside was a thin beautiful silver chain with a single charm hanging to one side of it. The Charm was a multifaceted crystal that caught the moonlight and looked just like Edward’s gorgeous skin.

“So?” His voice asked while he smiled gently at me

“I love it” I gushed pulling it out of the box. Edward smiled lopsidedly and grabbed my left hand he kissed the promise ring before taking the bracelet from my fingers. Her pushed up the sleeve of my sweater and fastened the bracelet in one swift move. The bracelet glittered and sparkled beautifully as it swayed on my thin wrist

He took a breath and sighed “This is so you will always know you posses my heart for eternity” He took my hand and turned it looking at the bracelet “Perfect” He smiled his cool finger caressing my skin “The wolves want cake we should go before they get anymore excited” Edward smiled standing I looped my arm with his and we waltzed back into the house

“Cake?” Embry asked excitedly

“Time for cake” I smiled

“First show me the gift” Kim squealed running over Leah and Emily followed close behind her. Then Rose Alice and Esme all arrived wanting to see the bracelet. I smiled pushing up my sleeve and letting the gorgeous heart charm catch the light.

“It is so pretty” Rose gushed and the others followed fawning about how sweet and caring and adorable it the gift was. I nodded and loved how they thought Edward was so sweet and carring because that’s exactly how I saw him.

“Cake Cake Cake Cake” Claire cheered sitting on Quil’s shoulders as he ad Seth walked into the living room “Rena” Claire cheered “Quilly I want Rena” she called out tugging on his ear making us all laugh hysterically. Quil glared softly at me and relinquished the tiny girl who barreled towards me

“Wanna help blow out the candles?” I said pointing to the now light up cake Esme smiled

“Yeah” Claire nodded happily as we walked towards the pretty cake

“Make a wish” Alice said sweetly

“I have everything I need right here” smiled gesturing around me Claire still perched on my hip

“Something you want then” Leah suggested with a smiled squeezing my hand

Something I want I only want one thing I thought glancing around me there was only one thing missing I wish for a child I whispered in my head as Claire and I blew out all seventeen candles on the cake
