Scene 2
The room is the same except now there are posters on the wall and clothes on the floor. There is also a guitar and an amp next to the dresser. Riley and Silas lay on the bed looking up at the ceiling.
Silas:
Did they tell you?
RILEY:
Tell me what?
SILAS:
About Ian.
RIley:
Nooo. What about him?
SILAS:
If I tell you you can't run and tell Ellie. Got it?
RILEY:
Ok...?
SILAS:
Ian's leaving.
RILEY:
Huh? To where?
SILAS:
I'm not sure but i know that its far from here.
RILEY:
Wait-but-so he hasn't told her?
SILAS:
No. Matt told me he's trying not to make it obvious because he doesn't want her to know. He should just break up with her. We all know long distance relationships don't work.
Riley stays quiet for a minute then sits up.
RILEY:
Si...if i were to ever move away...would you break off our relationship?
SILAS:
What?! No. I love you, Riley.
RILEY:
But you just said-
SILAS:
We're not the same as them, kiddo. We have something different.
He strokes her cheek gently. Riley smiles and hits him with a pillow.
RILEY:
I told you to stop calling me that. I'm not a kid.
(She pauses then starts up again)
Let's go somewhere. It's boring just laying here.
SILAS:
I don't have any money. The donor hasn't been home. He's on some sort of 'business trip'.
RILEY:
I think Ellie might be going to a rave tonight! Lets go with her!!
SILAS(annoyed):
No Riley. She'll interrogate me the whole night! She doesn't stop bugging.
RILEY:
Well i don't want to be stuck here all night! Lets just get out of here.
Silas gets up and grabs his wallet off the dresser.
SILAS:
Get up then. I'll take you somewhere.
RILEY:
Yes!
Exit.
The lights go out for a minute then go back on. Silas stumbles into the room, Riley, head down walks in behind him.
RILEY:
Of all the places you could have taken me you take me there and you get drunk.
Silas drops to the bed.
SILAS(Drunk):
Baby...it was fun. You have to admit... When that guy fell off his chair...heh...Come here babe.
RILEY:
Your acting stupid. I'm leaving.
Silas gets up and grabs her by her wrist.
SILAS:
Your not leaving me.
RILEY:
Stop Silas. Your hurting me.
SILAS:
I don't care! Your not leaving! Now SIT!
He pulls her to the bed and throws her down.
RILEY:
What the heck Silas! Let me go!
He gets on top of her and holds her hands down as she struggles to get up.
SILAS:
Your staying with me Riley...I love you. You believe me right, baby? Give me a kiss.
RILEY:
Silas please! Let me go!! I want to go home!!
She turns her face away from his as he tries to kiss her.
SILAS:
Your not leaving me.
As he continues to try and kiss her she accidentally kicks the lamp off of the dresser next to the bed. The lights go out as Riley continues to plead to be let go.
