Scene Two
INT. Chicago – Apartment – Morning
ANGLE ON – EMBRY lying in a large bed. An alarm clock goes off on the bedside table. EMBRY turns around to shut it off. She lies back down.
Embry (v.o.):
We were living in Chicago.
Doctor (v.o.):
And who was it you were living with?
COLLIN WREY, 22, rolls over and into the shot. He places his arms around EMBRY.
Embry (v.o.):
Collin…
EMBRY sighs as COLLIN kisses her neck and shoulders.
Collin:
Do you have to go to work today?
Embry:
You know I have to.
Collin:
But I want to stay in bed today, just you and me.
Embry:
You know I want to…No Collin not the pout!
Collin:
Not the pout? Hmmm, well I have other ways of making you talk!
COLLIN rolls on top of EMBRY and starts tickling her. EMBRY screams in laughter. Suddenly the alarm goes off again. COLLIN and EMBRY both sigh.
Collin:
I’m going to throw that thing out of the window.
EMBRY grabs the alarm clock and throws it into the wall. It shatters.
Collin:
That’ll work.
Embry:
(mumbles)
You owe me a new alarm.
Collin:
Sure, sure.
They snuggle close together and lay in bed, looking at the broken alarm clock. COLLIN falls back asleep.
Doctor (v.o.):
So you two were married?
INT. London – Psychiatrist’s Office – Day
Embry:
No.
Doctor:
Was he your boyfriend?
Embry:
At one point he was.
Doctor:
I’m sorry I don’t quite follow.
Embry:
(sigh)
We were dating. We dated for two years.
Doctor:
Before you were living together?
Embry:
Yeah…
Doctor:
Then why-
Embry:
When we were living together he was dating my best friend. But they would fight all the time. And when they did…He would come to me…
Doctor:
So you two were-

(chuckle)

EMBRY slides out of a sleeping COLLIN’S grip. She covers herself with a blanket and walks into the bathroom. She glances behind her to the bed.
Embry (v.o.):
But I was still in love with the bastard.
She sighs softly and closes the bathroom door.
INT. London – Psychiatrist’s Office – Day
Doctor:
I see.
Embry:
Yeah…
EMBRY looks down at her hands.
Embry:
Can we move on now?
Doctor:
If that’s what you want. Where did you work?
Embry:
At the lab where the virus started. We were there to find cures for various diseases.
Doctor:
Were you there the day the virus started?
Embry:
Was I there?
(looks up at doctor)
I created it.
