You Are Everything I Am.

[Jade’s POV]

“Have you met the new girl Jade?”

I rolled my eyes. It was bad enough that my whole school was obsessed with this new girl,
now my mom was too.”Yeah I met her. She’s okay I guess,” I answered with a deep sigh.

“Her mother seems nice. I met her at the grocery store,” my mom went on with a smile.

“I’m gonna go to my room,” I said abruptly getting up and walking up the stairs.

“Dinner’s in 20 minutes. Don’t forget,” my mom called after me.

“Yeah, yeah I know,” I muttered.

I flopped down on my bed and reached for the phone. I felt the sudden need to bother the
crap out of someone. I grinned as I dialed the number of the only person who could deal
with my insanity.

“Hallo?”

“Hi Mrs. Schafer, Is Gustav home yet?”

“Oh hi Jade! He’s right here hold on.”

I giggled to myself as Mrs. Schafer handed Gustav the phone.

“What?”

“Gustav, is that any way to say hi to your best friend?”

He sighed, “You’re in one of your moods again aren’t you?”

I grinned, “Maybe. So what do you think of the new girl?”

There was a pause and I smirked as I was proven right once again.

“She’s okay I guess. I don’t really know her.”

I laughed.

“What are you laughing at?” He asked cautiously.

“You like her.”

“No I don’t.”

“YES YOU DO! YOU LIKE HER!”

“No Jade. I don’t.”

“Admit it you like her!”

“Shut up will you?”

I jumped around my room in a small victory dance, “Ha! I knew it! You like her!”

I could hear the smile in his voice, “Do you always have to gloat when you’re right?”

I paused, “Yes. Yes I do,” I answered as I finished my dance.

“I thought you hated her,” he said slowly.

I hesitated. It wasn’t that I hated her. I didn’t know her. It was that I was jealous of how close she was to him.

“You’re jealous aren’t you?” He asked.

“Get out of my head would you?” I said with a small laugh. Gustav always knew what I was thinking.

“No. It’s rather comfortable in here,” He said with a laugh.

“She’s his cousin and his best friend Gussi.”

“I know Jade. That’s still no reason for you to hate her. You should get to know her first. You know I’m right so don’t argue.”

I sighed, “I hate when you’re right.”

“You know you love me Jade.”

“Once again, you’re right. What do I do about him Gustav?”

“I can talk to him if it’ll really make you feel better.”

“You’d do that for me?” I asked kind of surprised.

“Of course I would. Do you really have to ask?”

“No. But I figured I’d check,” I said with a giggle.

“I’ll talk to him in school, and I’ll text you what I find out okay?”

“Sounds good. I gotta go eat. Thanks a bunch Gustav.”

“No problem Jade,” He said, with a soft laugh.

I hung up the phone and headed downstairs to dinner feeling better then I had since new girl Kari showed up. Maybe I really did have a chance with him.
