Sequel: Black Rose

Statues Without Eyes

As if the World Revolved Around Them

Sunday, the pros day. It was something I had been looking forward to since I got my brace off my ankle. Jake went to get food from somewhere, mainly since I don't think he wanted to watch me since he'd be too nervous. I was taking on the task of step up which was like pole vaulting only with bikes, yeah it was fun and something I normally ruled at. As the bar had been raised to 32 feet, I took a deep breath since it was down to me and this other guy in order to claim first. The only thing I remembered was pulling the whip over the bar at a heigth I've never done before then landing which was stuck only a majority of the weight went into my ankle I had recently injured. Taking in the pain, I rode back to my spot to watch the other guy. All and all, the pain was worth it since he hit the bar on his last attempt which put me in 1st.

After celebrating for that short period of time, I went back to my boys and the now returning Jake who all congradulated me.
"That was sweet,"Caleb smiled.
"Thanks,"I smiled still sitting on my bike,"But enough about me, yuo guys so kicked ass."
"Not without you we couldn't of,"Keegan smiled.
"Hey, can you put my bike back for me?"I caught my breath as they nodded and I slowly got off my bike.
Limping over to the side, Jake watched me as he walked up to my side,"See, it's why you need to stop."
"I'm fine,"I smiled at him,"Just sore."
"Uh huh,"Jake nodded.
"Ok, look I've done worse,"I looked at him,"Hell I've had worse done to me and that wasn't even my fault."
"Yeah but that was different."
"Are you lecturing me now?"
"No, I'm just sayin-"Jake leant against the wall.
"Caine?"I heard that all too familiar voice of someone I didn't want to hear,"I thought that was you."
"Cooper,"I glared at him since the one time I did meet him, he was nothing but an ass to me and then he wasn't even working as a CSI anymore,"What do you want?"
"Nothing just checking out things,"He shrugged as Marco walked up to him,"Oh and hanging out with my new friend."
"Wow, good for you,"I glared at him,"Now if you'll kindly leave-"
"You've pissed off the wrong people,"He smirked.
"What?"I looked at him.
"I don't know how you did it but they're not happy with you."
"What are you talking about?"
"Oh you know,"Marco smirked at me,"The ones you thought you were done with."
"Get out of my face,"I seethed in front of them.
"Or what, you'll call Eric,"Marco and Cooper both laughed as I lungded at them but Jake stopped me.
"You guys need to leave,"Jake looked at them.
"See ya around Sylar,"Cooper laughed as they both walked off.

"You had to stop me, didn't you,"I glared at Jake.
"Come on, let's get out of here,"Jake pulled me along with him as we headed out of the arena.

Monday evening, we had dropped the boys off and the bikes, then I finally got back to Ryan's place after Jake told me, he'd talk to Horatio about what had happened over the weekend. I unlocked the door of Ryan's house to sit my bags down in the living room.
"Ryan?"I called through the house,"Hey, I'm home now."
Ryan walked out of the hallway to see me standing there in which his eyes lit up,"You're back?"
"Yeah,"I smiled as he rushed up to hug me tightly,"Miss me?"
"You have no idea,"He laughed,"But I want to hear about your weekend, how'd the guys do?"
"They did great,"I smiled,"And I know you'll hate me but I did amazing too."
"Eh, I don't hate you,"He shrugged as I followed him to where his computer was,"Mainly since it's been all over any extreme sports site."
"Oh,"I blushed,"Haha."
"You were careful right?"
"Yes of course,"I smirked at him as I sat on the computer chair and he stood next to me,"I'm just so tired right now."
"Yeah traveling will do that to you."
"I just wish I had a vacation-"
"We'll talk about it,"He smiled.
"In that case,"I smiled at him,"We should so go somewhere nice, Australia even?"
"Australia?"He raised an eyebrow at me,"I don't know if I can get that much time off."
"Well make time,"I laughed as I swivled in the chair.
"I'll talk to Horatio about it."
"Oh and hey,"I looked up at him sheepishly a bit,"I told Jake about well you know and Natalia knows but I swear that's it."
"No wonder Natalia's been extra smiley at me,"He rolled his eyes as he sat on a chair to look at me,"Girls and their gossip."
"Well hey she was there when I was fighting with you so I had to talk to someone and Jake well we're so close if I didn't tell him soon he'd be pissed."
"We'll have to tell everyone later though."
"Do we?"I groaned as I looked at him.
"Are you 5?"
"Yes,"I smirked at him.
"Thought so."
"Hey,"I protested looking at him.
"So is the tired you, too tired to go get some late evening ice cream?"
"No,"I smiled standing up as he stood up with me,"That actually sounds really really good right now."
