The Words We Forget to Say

Day Seven

This will be in Jack's point of view

I watched dizzily from atop the hot stage as fans of all ages cheered deafeningly, a grin stretching onto my lips.

They continued to roar and holler loudly as All Time low finished their last song, ending their last set on Warped Tour with the song," The Party Scene".

Alex thanked the immense crowd for contributing greatly to their most memorable summer, for making their days worthwhile and full of self-contentment.

It made me beyond happy, so elated, to know fully well that these kids were here for us, to demonstrate their undying support, to sing along with us so the world could hear, to immerse themselves in the music and let the melodies take over.

Warped Tour was a place where everything was perfect, where every one was the "cool kid".
It was a place where the 90+ degree weather couldn't bring even the smallest kid down.
It was simple complexity.

And I loved being a part of it all.
It felt amazing to know that this wouldn't be just my memories that I'd be reminiscing about, but also the memories of hundreds of kids nationwide.
I was a part of history.

I and the rest of All Time Low filed out from the back of the stage slowly, waving back to the crowd, wanting this moment to be infinite.

We didn't want it all to end so fast.

Now off the stage and into the VIP area, everyone congratulated us for a great set, a job well-done, for being part of Warped Tour and for a day to remember.

I smiled and nodded, thanking them as well and giving them warm regards.
My eyes didn't meet theirs though, because I only wanted to see one certain person.

I set my guitar aside haphazardly, not really caring if someone would take it and set out in search of her.

Suddenly I felt a pair of thin arms wrap around my waist and my body was pulled backwards into a familiar body.

"Jack-O!"

A warm smile instantaneously illuminated my face and I laughed heartily," Let go of me Jess, I need to give you a big 'ol bear hug!"

I felt Jessica's arms loosen around me and I turned around, taking in her appearance delightedly.

Even now as her hair was pulled back hastily in a messy bun and beads of sweat glistened on her brow, I couldn't help but to think she was the most beautiful girl alive.
Boy, was I lucky to even have her as a friend.

I slid my arms around her and embraced her a little more tightly than necessary, picking her off the ground with ease and spinning her around as her laughter fulled the air.
The sound of an angel... and even sweeter.

I set her down on the ground again unwillingly, wanting to hold her in my arms forever, and watched as she tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, trying to stop herself from giggling.

When she finally managed to subdue her laughter a bit, she looked up at me and shot me and angelic smile," You guys had an amazing set today, I'm glad I got to watch it!"

I laughed and placed my hand in hers, pulling her away from the mass of people and into a more quiet area where we could actually talk.

"I'm glad you liked it," I thanked, looking into her soft eyes," I'm sad it's all over though..."

She frowned and nodded, mostly to herself," Yeah, me too.... but it was beyond amazing while it lasted."

I grinned and gave her hand a light squeeze," Hey, who's saying it over though? We've got one last Warped Tour barbecue to go to tonight!"

Jessica smiled and rolled her eyes," Oh yeah, and there's that."

(later at the barbecue)[/b}

"Here's to the wildest summer ever and to the great new friends!"

Warped Tour crew members and band members alike cheered loudly and beer clanks clanked together, blending together with sounds of happy times.

I turned to Jessica and embraced her," Thanks for making this an amazing summer, Jess. I love you."

She hugged me back and then leaned away a little," Let's go over there."
She pointed to a little secluded area by a bus and started walking as I followed closely at her heels.

"What's up?" I asked once we had made it there.

Jessica smiled and I couldn't help but to smile as well," Well, Jack-o, I have good news."

My smile turned into a grin," And what may that be, sweetheart?"

"Well..." she grinned back," I've finally realized who's the right guy for me."

My smile faltered considerably as she said that, but I pasted it on quickly before she could take notice," Who? Kyle?"

She frowned," No."

I silently cheered," Alex?"

She cleared her throat, smiling a little," Nope."

I tilted my head, confused beyond belief, I mean... who could be left?
"Flyzik??"

I watched as she giggled, rolling her head back and shaking her head," No, silly!"

I laughed nervously, trying to figure it out," Then, uh, who?"

She smiled coyly and then leaned closer to me, her brown hair falling around her shoulders and her breath hot on my neck as she whispered in my ear," You, Jack."

My mouth dropped a little but then I just laughed, deciding it was just a ruse," HA HA. Funny, Jess. Really though, who's the lucky guy?"

She frowned and clicked her tongue," I already told you."

My eyes widened and I gawked at her, not believing," Are you serious Jess? Me?!"

She nodded with a smile, never breaking eye contact with me," Of course Jack."

She sighed and I could see her struggling," I'm really stupid, you know? It took me three fucking wasted years to realize that you were right in front of me, that you were the one for me. I mean, it was so obvious and I was blind."

She laughed a little, a hint of sadness in it, and I could almost taste a double meaning hidden in her words," You're perfect Jack. You've always been there for me. You're not like Kyle or Alex.... not in the least bit. You always bring out the best in me and I'm always so happy when I'm with you... I really do like you Jack. You believe me, right?"

I gulped audibly and averted my gaze.
She just had to be kidding, I mean...
I just never thought the day would come...

"I, uh, Jess... are you sure you know what you're saying? Do you want some water or something? You must be dehydrated."

I almost expected her to laugh and agree, saying she was wrong, bu instead she scowled and rolled her eyes expertly," I'm not dehydrated Jack."

I smiled nervously," Then you just don't know what you're talking about."

"Really now, Jack?" Jessica laughed and her eyes sparkled as she took a step towards me so that her lips hovered only a few centimeters from mine.

"Then would I do this?"

She sealed the space in between our lips with one swift move and curled her arms delicately around my neck.

I let my arm hand on the contours of her hip and pressed my hand on the small of her back as our lips molded together.

This was what I've been waiting for.
I didn't want this moment to end.

I felt her lips press against mine with more passion and I smiled into the kiss.

Jessica leaned back and smiled," What is it?"

I just laughed and pecked her lips, taking her hand into mine and leading her back to the barbecue.

"I just never thought the day would come."
