The Undeniable Truth

~Hatoris POV~

You were in your office when you heard someone come in. You knew that Mai was at school along with the other kids so you figured it was just Shigure coming to annoy you. You had ignored whoever came in the room and just continued your work.

"It seems as tho someone has fallen in love with young Mai" Akitos voice rang through your ears. You had turned around and looked up at him to see him looking at the picture of Mai that was on your bookshelf

"Its simply a picture Akito"

"I know that but you also have one of you and her from when you two were younger sitting on your desk Hatori" he said in his emotionless voice. You let out a sigh and pinched the bridge of your nose to calm your nerves

"There is nothing going on between us"

"Oh, i know that much. But i do also know that you are in love with her"

"I simply look out for her"

"Is that why you promised to be there for her when she needs someone?" Akito asked. Your eyes went wide *how could he have known about the promise i made her late at night?* you thought making Akito laugh and drop the picture shattering the glass. He had soon left the room with an evil smirk on his face leaving you to your thoughts.

~Your POV~

You smiled as you walked home with Ruri, Yuki, Kyo and Tohru. You all were in a deep conversation about the up coming dance and who you were all going to go with. Of course Tohru had decided to go with Kyo even tho they werent going to be able to touch each other. You thought it was sorta stupid for her to go with Kyo if she could barely touch him without having all the kids at school see him transform.

Kyo and you had gotten into a verbal fight once you entered Shigures house not even realizing Ayame and Hatori had come over. They had watched you two verbal fight until you pushed him back making him lose his balance and falling back

"What the hell!!! If you want a fight then lets take this outside" Kyo yelled as he jumped up but you simply rolled your eyes at him

"Kyo, you are so immature and stupid" you sighed and went to walk into the living room but he grabbed your arm to stop you

"I dont think so, You started this and now im going to finish it!" he yelled making you laugh

"Do you really think that you could beat me in an actual fight?"

"Of course!!! your just a girl" Kyo said proudly. Yuki sighed and shook his head along with Ruri but Tohru looked around confused

"Dont be stupid fleabag, she may be a girl but you will lose" Yuki told Kyo who shook his head

"I doubt that" he laughed. As he was laughing you had smirked and roundhoused him making him fly out the open door and land on the front lawn. You straightened out your skirt and looked in the kitchen to see Hatori, Ayame and Shigure and smiled at them

"Mai" Hatori sighed warningly

"What? he was asking for it" Ruri defended her. You nodded your head but chose to leave the room and walk back to the Estate. There was no way you were going to get in trouble for giving Kyo what he asked for. You took off your shoes before you went inside and noticed that Akito was out of his office making you smile.

"Afternoon Akito" you said as you ran over to him. He smiled down at you and placed his hand on the top of your head

"shouldnt you be at Shigures doing your homework?"

"Yes, but Kyo and I got into a fight and i roundhoused him out the door and didnt want to be lectured on giving Kyo what he wanted" You shrugged. This had caused Akito to laugh before he told you to go to your room and do your homework.

Later that night you had decided to go for a walk alone. You had alot on your mind and you just needed some fresh air. As of late, your attitude has changed and you were more daring and you actually spoke your thoughts. You didnt know what it was, but it made you feel better and not so locked up inside. You had come to not really like Tohru because she seemed to be playing with Kyo's and Yuki's emotions.

You had looked at the ground and then accidently bumping into someone. You looked up and glared at Kyo who glared back

"What were you're going you stupid pup!" he shouted making you roll your eyes

"Will you shut up before you wake up the whole fucking neighborhood" you growled. Kyo looked at you shocked never hearing you cuss before.

"I thought you were a quiet and kind girl"

"That was before when i was afraid to talk to people but now im not"

"What is your problem anyway?"

"Whats my problem?? you have got to be kidding me. Your the one that came back and acted like you owned everything and you wont face the fact that you'll never beat Yuki in a fight because he doesnt fight with anger! and then there's you going to the stupid dance with that air head who you wont even be able to dance with!" You started to shout as your temper rose. Kyo just looked at you before crossing his arms

"Why does me going to the dance with Tohru matter to you anyway?" he asked. His voice more calm then it was in the beginning

"Because you cant hold her when you dance with her. The most you can do is hold her fucking hand"

"I dont see why this bothers you so much Mai"

"It bothers me because you should have let Hatori erase her memory" You told him as you looked at the ground, your voice more gentle

"Because, i know you two like each other but cant do anything about because the stupid curse is still intact"

"Do you really hate her?"

"Yes"

"But why?"

"Because shes toying with your's and Yuki's emotions. It likes she doesnt know who to choose so shes trying to keep both of you to herself. You two are my family, why wouldnt i hate her?" You asked. Kyo looked at you with shock even though you couldnt see him since your eyes were on the ground.

Kyo didnt know what to do about this. He had never heard you consider anyone in the Sohma's as her family. Kyo had moved forward slightly

"Why do you really hate her?" he asked softly. You took a deep breath as tears welled up in your emerald eyes

"Because i had you two first. I had you two before my parents took me away from here" you said just low enough for him to hear you. His eyes got wider and he went to hug you but you pushed him away from your body

"NO!" you yelled as tears streamed down your face before running away from him. You werent sure where you were going but you knew he wasnt following you. You knew he was just looking in the spot where you once stood but you didnt care. You were hurt because you remembered you had them before your parents took you away from them. Just like Ayame, Shigure and Hatori, Yuki and Kyo were yours.
