Hello Yourself
Abigail’s POV
A couple days had passed and I hadn’t heard anything from Zack I was beginning to think I never would either but that all changed Wednesday morning.
I was still in bed fast asleep when my phone went off on my bed side table waking me from my dreams it startled me to say the least and I reach for it pressing the green phone before even looking at the caller ID.
“Hello” I asked sounding groggy from sleep
“Hello yourself” was my answer
“Is this Zack?” I asked confused
“Did I wake you?” he asked laughing
“Yes…shit what’s the time?” I yelled realizing I was late “Crap im late fuck” I yelled again as Zack continued to laugh at me I got dressed one handedly while still holding the phone to my ear attempting to get ready for work.
“What are you doing?” Zack asked
“Im getting ready for work” he laughed at me again
“Stop laughing you’re not helping”
“Yes I am what would you do if I hadn’t called you would still be asleep”
“Ok you have a point and I don’t mean to sound harsh but did you call for a reason or can I just call you back later?”
“I just wanted to know if you had plans Saturday, Alex is just having a little barbeque/pool party type thingy and I want you to come” his words made me stop what I was doing
“You want me to come” I could imagine him blushing “Umm yea okay that sounds good…can I call you back later about detail im kinda busy and probably gonna get fired” he laughed
“Yea no probs call me later and don’t worry you won’t get fired, have a good day Abby”
“You too Zack”
After Zack left Sunday afternoon I called Katy and we had the longest conversation, I told her everything that had happened with Zack and apparently something had gone down with her and Jack as well even though he didn’t spend the whole weekend at her place and I think she was slightly envious. She went on to say that we should have a double date and I had to laugh at her, and told her she may be getting a little ahead of herself there. Zack and I weren’t dating I don’t even know what we were, whether we were just friends, a fling or something more. But I wanted to find out.
Finding my black bikini was the tricky part I had not been swimming or to the beach in the longest of times and now and after going through my wardrobe and all my draws I finally found it lying under my bed.
After attempting to work out whether it was clean or not I decided it would have to do and put it on under my denim shorts and funky patterned vest pairing them with my brown boots, grabbing my sunnies, towel and bag. Katy was at my door just in time ready to pick me up in her cute get up, clearly trying to impress someone but it wasn’t like I could say I wasn’t doing the same thing.
“How do you know were even in the right place?” I asked Katy as we pulled up to the house Alex and Jack shared
“I don’t, but can’t you hear the music?” she asked back as if music was anything to go by
“Yea I can” I replied knocking on the door again guessing she was right
Moments later the front door was opened for us by Rian who wore only his swimming shorts looking like he had just jumped out of the pool
“Hey ladies, come out the back the guys got a barbeque started and the girls are lazing by the pool”
We followed Rian through the house which was pretty neat for a house that was shared by Jack and Alex, the furnisher was simple and almost cluttered but it was what they called home and I wouldn’t expect anything less from the two.
Once out the back there was a decent sized pool in the middle of the yard, a patio to one side that held several chairs a table and a barbeque where Zack stood shirtless flipping burger paddies. Even though he was the first thing to catch my attention I also noticed the few other people by the pool and seated in the several chairs, in total there would have been around 10 or 15 people, only a few who we got introduced to.
“Hey ladies follow me I want to introduce you to some people” Rian said as we continued to follow him as most people attention had been turned to us
“Hey Jenna this is Abigail and Katy” Rian spoke introducing us to a tanned girl who’s hair was a light brown and long falling in the middle of her back she was pretty with green eyes “Ladies this Is Jenna my girl friend” Rian continued and I made a mental note that she was very pretty as she sat up from her position sun tanning near the edge of the pool smiling
“Oh hey, I’ve heard a lot about you two, nice to meet you” she seemed very friendly and quite approachable
“Oh ok I don’t know if that’s good” I laughed “But hi” she chuckled at me and I felt a little less nervous about the whole situation
“This is Maddie” she said motioning towards the girl who had just risen from the depth if the pool near our feet
“Hey” she said before heading back under the water not giving us a second to respond
“She’s going out with Alex” she paused for a moment “This week anyway” she laughed but was completely serious
“Nice” Katy laughed
“Umm do you mind if I go say hi to the rest of the guys” Katy asked
“Oh no probs ill probably still be here when you get bored of them” she chuckled
Katy headed in one direction over to where Jack was sitting with a few other guys I had never met before, while I headed in the opposite direction for the barbeque where Zack still stood.
