All I Need Is a Sign From You

oo6.

A couple days past and nothing interesting has happened. We partied a few times, well, more like the boys partied a few times, Alex wouldn’t let me drink. I rolled my eyes and walked away from him. We were in Virginia now, and they boys were finishing their last show.

“Here’s a new song for your guys, it’s called Stay Awake.” Alex said, adjusting himself in the black stool he was sitting in.

Jack came in with his acoustic guitar and Alex closed his eyes, “Caught in a cold sweat, stuck splitting hairs.”

---------------------------

“That was great!” I smiled, hugging Alex. I got used to the sweatiness.

“Thanks.” He smiled, kissing my forehead.

“What are we doing tonight?” I asked, walking back to the bus with them.

“Driving.”

I groaned, “It’s so boring.”

“Well, sucks, we have to do it.”

“We can play Marry Mack.” Jack suggested.

“Jack, I’m 18, not eight.”

“Fine, be that way.” He stomped up the stairs dramatically.

Zack and Rian laughed and followed him.

“Why are we friends with him?” I laughed, climbing onto the bus.

“Because he was the only guy that I could find that played guitar.” He joked.

“I’m going to go to bed.” I said, walking to my bed.

“Okay.” He sighed, slumping onto the couch.

------------------------------

“Mae, wake up.” Alex said, shaking me.

“What?” I groaned, curling up into a ball.

“The bus broke down, so we got a hotel.”

“I don’t care, I’m sleeping.”

“Mae, the bus is going into the shop, you have to get off.”

“Get all of my shit off then wake me up.” Alex groaned and walked off.

“Mae.” Jack said.

“Don’t.” I snapped.

“You have to get up.”

“I’m tired.”

“I am too!” He fought back.

“Leave me alone!”

I felt Jack pick me up, but I just rolled my eyes and let him carry me.

“You’re being a bitch.” Jack stated, “You better be pregnant.”

“Ugh, Jack, I’m not pregnant.” I whined, eyes still closed.

“You’re lucky Alex loves you.”

“You’re lucky I’m tired.” I stated, almost asleep.

--------------------------

“Mae.” Alex whispered.

It was the next morning and I could tell that this hotel was somewhat expensive.

I turned over and smiled at him, “Good morning.”

“Wow, you’re bipolar.”

I shrugged and curled tighter into a ball.

“We have the day off today. What do you want to do?”

“I don’t know.” I shrugged.

“Come on, I have a surprise.”

I jolted up, “Okay!”

-------------------------

“Okay, open your eyes on the count of three.” Alex said into my ear, “One, two, three.”

I opened my eyes, and let out a squeal, “A picnic!”

“I thought you’d like it.”

We sat down on the red and white checkered blanket, “What’d you bring?”

“Well, I brought some ham sandwiches, potato salad, and some pretzels.”

“I love you!” I let slip.

“I lo-” Alex got cut off.

“Alex Gaskarth?!” Some people yelled, running over to us.

This was going to be a lot harder than I thought.
