This Truth In Cliche

Jealousy

I have been sitting in this club for about an hour drinking, trying to forget her face, forget what she did to me and trying to forget Charlotte all together. I scanned the club deciding if now was a good time to leave that’s when I saw Charlotte walk in with her boyfriend. She seemed a little uncomfortable with the situation, exchanged a few words with her boyfriend then she went to sit in a booth. I longed to wrap my arms around her slender frame and kiss her; make her feel wanted and reassure her that everything will be okay. I watched her for a little bit before chugging the rest of my drink and walking over to her. “That your boyfriend?” I asked while sitting down next to her.

“What are you doing here?” She frowned.

“Same as you, to hang out at a club.”

“Well leave.” She snapped and got up to go to the floor. I couldn’t help but watch her hips sway as she walked. What have I gotten myself into? She clearly doesn’t want me back like I thought she would. I just wished I knew why she didn’t want me back. I missed her. I missed us.

“Ronnie, look.” Charlotte said excitedly. I smiled and looked out past her extended finger to see a beautiful sunset over the ocean. I watched her admire it; she was the most beautiful girl I’d ever seen. I loved the way she smiled and her eyes sparkled. The way wind blew her blonde hair around her face, I couldn’t help but reach out and tuck a strand of hair behind her ear and kiss her. She kissed me back and pulled me closer. As I wrapped my arms around her she began running her fingers through my hair. It was moments like these that I lived for.

When we pulled away I whispered, “I love you.”

“I love you too.” She said grinning.

When I managed to come back to reality I noticed Charlotte was dancing with Max. What the fuck. I started getting pissed off just watching them so I figured I’d get my own girl to go home with. I mean who wouldn’t want me. I looked over at a group of girls whispering and looking at me; they all smiled and went back to whispering when I smiled in their direction. This would be too easy but it didn’t seem right until I at least explained myself to Charlotte. So I decided to leave. When I was almost to my car I noticed Charlotte walk out with Max.

“Leave us alone.” She said as soon as she saw me.

“What are you doing with him?” I asked a little too harshly.

“Fucking stay out of my business.” She snapped as Max pulled her past me.

“Tell me.”

“Maybe she’s trying to get rid of you.” Max yelled. “Maybe people have grown tried with you, maybe you should leave her alone, and maybe she likes someone else.” Max was going ballistic and completely drove me over the edge when he kissed her. She stood where she was for a second not saying anything but quickly followed Max.

That’s it tomorrow I will find her and talk to her if she won’t take me back then so be it. I won’t deal with her if she’s going to be a bitch anytime I’m around. Besides it’s about time she got a taste of her own medicine.
