It's All in How You Mix the Two

Chapter Four; The Amusement Park.

Frida's Point of View

It was fun to visit the amusement park of Gothenburg, the guys seemed to have a blast. I'm going to retell the most memorable events of the Liseberg visit. Some of the crew members also spent some time at the amusement park, but they kept to themselves and to my disappointment the cute merch guy with the snakebites didn't show.

We started out soft with the Fairy Tale Castle. Alexandra ended up sitting next to Bert and I next to Dan, who couldn't stop giggle as he heard Alexandra's scream when a doll started talking to her. "Look at your shoes, they're shining!" I said pointing at Dan's white shoes. "Haha, rad!" he laughed. Everything that's white enough has the tendency to start shining at some point of the trip through the fairy tale land.

"Hey, it's Peter Pan!" I heard Bert exclaim excitedly from the ship-like vehicle in front of us. "Bert you mustn't leave the boat! The guards would throw you out!" we could hear Alexandra say and then Bert's infamous giggle.

"I remember that once there was this group of young people that sat in here drinking beer, they were being thrown out by the security guards. I found it hilarious for some reason," I shared with Dan who started to laugh. "We should try that sometime!" Quinn exclaimed with a mischievous smile from the vehicle behind us once Dan had shared my story.

After that we went to try out some of the other attractions. Alexandra was screaming like mad at Kanonen, the cannon, once the train was fired out of the station at high speed like a cannonball, reaching its top speed in only two seconds. Bert was constantly giggling through the whole ride from where he was sitting next to me and I couldn't help but laugh at him.

"Again, again!" Quinn said eagerly once we got out. "I'm not sitting next to Alex, she almost crushed my hand," Jepha laughed causing Alexandra to blush. "I'll sit next to her," Quinn offered with a smile and we went to take another ride. I sat next to Jeph this time and we both laughed once we heard Bert giggle and Alexandra scream again.

Kållerado is a black and yellow round boat-like vehicle that floats around on a river that's meant to capture the typical Nordic wildlife, as the Liseberg guide likes to express it. I made sure that I didn't sit anywhere close to Alexandra, but on the opposite side since I knew from experience that she always end up being one of the wettest once the ride is over.

I was right, Alexandra was soaking wet after the ride. So was Quinn and then who had the misfortune to sit next to her. I, Jeph and Bert couldn't help but making fun of them. After Kållerado we went to try out SpinRock where you ride forwards, backwards, upside down and round and round at breathtaking speed. Everyone seemed to like it, after all we must have rode it about ten times in a row since the line was so short.

Right after Höjdskräcken, roughly translated to the fear of heights, where you go up in a tower of 60 meters only to get shoot down like a speeding bullet, Alexandra puked into the shrubbery. "Maybe we should eat something," Quinn suggested, while patting Alexandra's back, holding the hair out of her face as she emptied her stomach.

"Yeah sure. It's funny how puke makes you think of food, Quinn," Dan laughed and we went to eat at Tyrolen, where all the waiters are dressed in Tyrolean costumes. Apparently their costumes fascinated the members of The Used so much that they just had to take photos with them. The look on the male waiter's face when Bert and Dan licked his cheeks on each side was priceless. I, Quinn and Jeph had vegetarian dishes while the others decided to order something more meaty. Quinn, Bert and Dan decided to have a couple of beers, Jeph decided to follow Alexandra's example and have a coke. I satisfied with water since I'm not really into drinking soda.

In Flumeride you ride in logs through a water filled path, and towards the end there are two downhill slopes, the last one longer than the first, where the water splashes all over you. I shared log with Bert and Jeph. Bert sat in the front, getting water all over, I in the middle so that I could hide behind the long haired singer and Jeph in the back getting his pants soaked with water. I had to run away from them for convincing them that they wouldn't get wet if they sat where they sat. They finally got me though, Jeph stood behind me holding my arms so that I couldn't escape and Bert started tickling me. I started screaming and laughed so much my stomach hurt until they finally let go of me.

We went to the House of Mirrors, where we met two The Used fans from Malmoe, a city in southern Sweden. It was two girls named Viktoria and Sandra, they were really nice and said that they were really looking forward to the upcoming show that was to take place the following night. They got autographs, took some photos with the band and ran around with us in the House of Mirrors.

Dan was chasing me and I ended up colliding with a pane at high speed. I couldn't help but laugh as the tears came streaming down my face along with the thick red substance running out from my nose. "Shit, are you alright?" Dan asked, helping me up. "Yeah, just a little dizzy," I giggled, falling into his embrace.

"What did you do to her, Dan?" Jeph asked concerned as we got out, me leaning on Dan for support. "Nothing! It was an accident, I swear!" Dan said. "Well, I'll take over from here," Jeph said, shaking his head slightly before he lifted me up in his embrace. "Are you okay?" he asked looking down at me. "Yeah," I grinned, looking up at him.

"I'll take care of this. See you by the entrance in half an hour, we need to leave soon anyway," Jepha informed the others. "Someone should take a look at that," he stated as he sat me down on a bench. "I'm fine," I said wiping my nose. "I just need some wet paper to clean myself up."

"I'll get it for you," he said and went to the nearby fast foods restaurant. He soon came back with paper, a plastic bag and two paper cups, one with water and one with ice. "They were very helpful," he smiled as he held up some paper to my nose to stop the bleeding. I grabbed the paper myself and couldn't help but laugh. "Thanks. God, I feel so stupid, usually it's Alexandra ending up getting hurt," I told him and he smiled warmly at me.

"Has it stopped bleeding yet?" he asked after a couple of minutes, I was resting my head against his shoulder and sat in his lap. I removed the paper from my nose and he nodded at me, wetting some paper to very carefully wipe away the blood from my face. "Here, hold this to your nose," he said holding up the plastic bag in which he had placed the melting ice cubes, once he was done removing the dried blood. "You should drink some water," he said holding up the paper cup. I nodded and accepted the cup. "Thanks," I smiled at him. "You're welcome," he returned the smile and we sat there until the rest of the company decided to show up.
