Fly With Me

He's here...

A week and a half later Joe and I decided he would fly to San Antonio and we would spend a day or two here together and then we would drive back to Dallas. It didn’t take him long at all to convince me to go along with his plan.

“They are boarding my flight but they haven’t called my section yet,” Joe said to me, over the phone, as I sat next to Ash on my bed, “Man, I’m not used to flying commercial.”

I laughed, “Oh, right, you’re used to private jets,” I said to him, “Sorry, rock star.”

“Dude, are you talking to him again?” Ash said throwing my pillow at me, “You’re going to see him in a while; you don’t need to talk every second.”

She’s such a drama queen. It’s not like we constantly talk on the phone. Okay, we talk quite a bit, but so what? I don’t see anything wrong with that. Do you?

“Tell her I said to stop being jealous,” Joe said to me with a laugh.

“She’s right, though,” I said to him seriously, “You’ll be here in an hour anyway, and we’ll see each other then.”

“Don’t forget me at the airport, though,” he said to me, “That’s the last thing I need.”

I laughed, “I’m not going to forget you,” I said to him sincerely, “You’re wearing a disguise anyway; so you should be safe.”

“I’m wearing a hoodie and sunglasses,” he said to me, “I look extremely suspicious.”

I began to picture him sitting in the airport, hood up, sunglasses on, and trying to cover his face. Then I pictured him being attacked by a bunch of little girls and laughed out loud.

“Just don’t look any teenage girls in the eyes;” I joked to him, “I’ll see you in a bit.”

I heard him sigh, “Fine, just ditch me,” he said sadly and then laughed, “Just kidding, alright I’ll see you in a bit.”

“Bye, Joe,” I said to him with a laugh.

“Bye, bye,” he said and then I hung up.

Ash was starring at me oddly, “What?” I asked her curiously.

“Nothing,” she said with a smile, “Are you excited?”

I nodded with a smile, “Extremely,” I said to her truthfully.

I was. I couldn’t wait to see him. I felt the butterflies in my stomach begin to fly around like crazy.

“Did he already make a reservation at a hotel?” she asked me.

I shook my head, “For what?” I asked sarcastically, “He can stay here for free.”

She raised her eyebrow, “Here?” she said pointing at my bed, “Like in your room here?”

I rolled my eyes, “Are you stupid?” I said to her, “No, not in my room, he’s staying in Jon-Robert’s room, what kind of girl do you think I am?”

She smiled, “Oh, please, don’t act like you haven’t thought about taking complete advantage of him,” she said and began to laugh hysterically.

I smacked her, “No, I have not,” I said to her, “Not since I’ve met him, maybe before.”

She grinned, “I knew it,” she said confidently, “He’s going to feel really uncomfortable once he sees your room.”

“No, he’s not,” I said to her surely, “I’ve already warned him that his face his plastered all over my wall.”

“And he still wants to come?” she asked and then shook her head disapprovingly; “I don’t get it.”

I stuck my tongue out here and then I realized something, “Shit, I have to take off my brothers posters,” I said standing up.

“Why?” she asked as she stood up quickly.

“My brother has naked girls all over his walls,” I said to her and walked out of my room and into my brothers.

“Joe needs to be exposed to them sometime,” she said laughing as she followed me.

After dropping Ash off an hour and half later I made my way to the airport to pick him up, he told me he was making his way to the baggage pick up and then he was going outside where I was going to pick him up.

I pulled up to the front and I spotted him immediately. There were about twenty girls surrounding him. I couldn’t help but laugh to myself, I sat in the car and watched him for a few minutes. Once I saw that he was getting fed up and scared I honked the horn twice. He looked up and once he noticed it was me he smiled and hurried to my car and got in.

He wrapped his arms around me as I snickered, “You looked like you were enjoying yourself,” I said once he closed the door and then I drove off.

“How long were you watching me get tortured?” he asked me with a smile.

“Only a few minutes,” I said honestly, “It was very entertaining.”

“Glad you think so,” he said to me as we laughed and then he touched my hair, “You cut it.”

I glanced at him, “Not even Ash noticed,” I said to him with a smile, “Yeah, I got a trim.”

“It looks pretty,” he said to me as he twirled a strand.

I felt my cheeks burn, “Thanks,” I said to him, “How was your flight?”

He sighed and leaned back, “Boring, I had no xBox, tv, studio, or anything,” he said somewhat sadly.

“Welcome to the real world,” I said to him with a laugh.

“I met this old guy sitting next to me though,” he said somewhat enthusiastically, “He was in the war and stuff so that was pretty interesting.”

I smiled, “See, you make it seem like it was terrible,” I said to him, “Anyway, my grandma made dinner and she makes pretty good food, you’re not a picky eater or anything right?”

He shook his head, “Not at all, food is my favorite thing,” he said as we laughed together, “So, your grandparents are really fine with me staying at your house?”

I nodded, “Yeah, it took a few hours to convince them but I prevailed,” I said to him, “You’re staying in my brother’s room.”

“Does he mind?” he asked cautiously.

I shook my head, “No, he’s going to sleep in Elijah’s room,” I said to him, “I took off all of the naughty posters that he had.”

His eyes widened, “He has posters like that? Isn’t he like fifteen?” he said in a surprised tone, “My mom would kill me if I even attempted to look at that.”

I laughed, “I figured, that’s why I took them all down,” I said to him, “I didn’t want to traumatize you the first time you visit.”

He grinned, “So, you’re planning on having me visit more?” he asked nudging me.

I looked at him, “Well, I mean I-I-I,” I began to stutter but he cut me off.

“I knew I was growing on you,” he said with a content smile which made me smile also.

“Anyway, I’m going to apologize to you on behalf of my brothers,” I said to him seriously, “They are bound to embarrass me and say inappropriate things in front of you.”

He laughed, “I have brothers too, I know how that goes,” he said to me.

“I’m sure it’s nothing compared to my brothers,” I said to him honestly, “They are crude and vulgar, even the little one.”

He grinned, “Well, then, this should be very interesting,” he said as I shook my head.

That night at dinner my family, Joe, and I surrounded the table. The beginning of dinner went smoothly but around the middle it all went to hell, kind of.

“Can I have Taylor Swift’s phone number?” my brother Jon-Robert blurted out.

Joe looked at him at him nervously, “I’m not really on speaking terms with her,” he told him, “And she’s nineteen, a little old to old for you.”

“You’d be surprised on the chicks that I’ve hooked up with,” my brother told Joe who laughed slightly, “I’m a ladies man.”

“My sister said she wants to have your babies,” my youngest brother Elijah said which made me spit out the milk I was drinking.

That’s not true! Okay, I might have said that along time ago, but not recently, and it’s not like I was serious or something. How do kids remember things like that? They have a brain like a sponge!

“I’ve never said that,” I said looking at Joe as my cheeks started to burn and he started laugh and then I glared at my little brother, “You better keep your mouth shut.”

“Boys why do you insist on embarrassing your sister?” my grandma asked my brother, “Have some respect for her guest.”

I mouthed ‘I’m so sorry’, to Joe and he smiled and mouthed back ‘it’s okay’.

My brothers rolled their eyes, “But grandma! She did say that!” Elijah said to her making the whole table laugh except for me.

The rest of the night went fairly smoothly, I got Joe settled into my brothers room around midnight, and then we all went to bed.

The next morning I was sound asleep and all of a sudden I felt my bed sink in next to me.

“Wake up, sleepyhead,” I heard and then I opened my eyes to see a smiling Joe sitting down.

“What time is it?” I asked as I curled up underneath my blankets more.

“It’s seven thirty,” he said enthusiastically, “You weren’t kidding when you said my face was all over your room.”

I laughed lightly and nodded, “Told you,” I said to him, “You should try changing in here, it’s impossible for me, it feels like you and your brothers are staring at me from every angle.”

He laughed, “Instead of changing in front of posters of me just change in front of me,” he said brightly, “Let’s see if that’s easier.”

I rolled my eyes and pushed him off of my bed, “Be quiet,” I said to him as we both laughed then he stood up and sat next to me again, “Did you sleep well?”

He nodded, “Surprisingly, yes,” he said with a smile, “And you forgot to take down a poster that he has on the ceiling.”

I couldn’t help but laugh, “I’m sorry,” I said to him, “Did you peak?”

“Well, I couldn’t exactly avoid it,” he said with a laugh, “It was a first for me.”

“Are you serious?” I asked him in somewhat of a shock, “You’re twenty years old, that’s not normal.”

“Okay, I’ve seen that in movies and stuff but that’s about it,” he said to me, I just stared at him, “What! I’m sorry I’m not the type of guy that just sits around and looks at naked girls.”

I smiled up at him, “No, that’s a good thing,” I said to him surely as he smiled at me.

We decided to spend the day at Fiesta Texas with my brothers and just leave around ten tomorrow morning. We had tons of fun, rode lots of rides, and didn’t get stalked by any teenage girls, but that was probably due to the fact that Joe wore his infamous disguise; sunglasses and a hoodie. My brothers embarrassing comments even stopped, which I was completely happy about.

On our way back my brothers were sound asleep in the backseat and Joe was driving.

“You can take off your costume,” I said reaching for his sunglasses and taking them off of him, “It’s dark out, I’m sure no one’s going to see you.”

He removed his hoodie, “I can never be too careful,” he said with a laugh.

The following morning we woke up somewhat early so that we could eat breakfast and I could finish getting all of my stuff together so that we could head for Dallas.

“Son, you better watch her,” my grandpa said to Joe sternly, “I may be old but I’m no too old to go after you.”

“Same goes for me,” My grandma said also.

Joe smiled nervously, “Don’t worry sir,” he said to them.

“Keep her as long as you want man,” Jon-Robert said to him with a laugh.

“Oh, don’t worry about that,” Joe said glancing at me with a grin as I rolled my eyes playfully, “I plan on it.’

“Twenty bucks says you’re going to be caught up in all of that media frenzy,” Ash said wrapping her arm around, “How are you going to handle all of that?”

I sighed, “I don’t think that’ll happen,” I said to her honestly, “And if it does then…I don’t know I’ll just suck it up.”

I hugged everyone goodbye, shortly after Joe and I piled up in my car, “You’re going to be stuck in a car with me for three hours,” he said grinning widely at me, “I feel for you.”

I laughed, “The first time you get a nerves, I’ll just pull over and kick your behind out,” I said to him, “You can count on that.”
