Chapter 2

“Bye Mercury Sylver Baker!” They all chorused together as I opened the car door. I pecked
Zacky’s cheek before I shut the door.

“Now remember say no to drugs!” Brian teased.

“Great advice coming from you Brian.” I rolled my eyes and Zacky added.

“And boys!”

“Yeah, yeah yeah.” I said before I walked towards the entrance of Huntington High. I stepped into the commons and pulled out my schedule. I had English with Mrs. Lemmon in 611. I went all the way to the other side of the building and arrived in the classroom where a blonde haired lady in a black skirt and a floral top stood.

“Oh you must be the new transfer student.” See I skipped a year since I took sophmore class credits already in night school and over the summer. I wanted to get out of here early.

“Why don’t you introduce yourself to the class.”

Fuck! I hated introductions. I didn’t like people to know about me.

“My name is Mercury Sylver Baker, im 15 and I have two brothers and a sister.” I said the thing I told most teachers when they ask you about yourself.

“Zacky, Zina and Matt im correct right?” She said putting her hands on the desk, showing cleavage from her shirt.

They told me you were a retired pornstar…

“Yeah that’s them.” I tried hiding a smile.

“Well you can take a seat next to Kyle.” I looked at the girl who raised her hand. She looked slutty and I cringed before I took my seat. I saw her look over at me. She looked at me up and down, and made a face.

I glared at her, my piercing green eyes looking her over. She was wearing jeans that were way too tight, a shirt that showed more cleavage than Mrs.Lemmon and her hair was recklessly teased. Her eyeliner was smudged and uneven. I scrunched up my face and turned towards the front smirking at her discreetly.

“Ugh.” She scoffed.

“Whore.” I mumbled fake smiling. She just turned to face the front with a huff.

I pissed her off. Good.

I followed my schedule to my last class which was electronics. I sat at a table with a few guys. One had long blonde hair and ripped jeans, another wore glasses and black curly hair with a shirt that said “Id hit that” and the question block from Mario on it. The third had short black hair an AC/DC Black Ice shirt and glasses, he looked Spanish.

“Hey…” I mumbled as I put my bag down. They all stared at me.

“Heeyy!” the one with the black curly hair and glasses said dragging it out. I gave him a confused look.

“Yo.” The blonde kid said looking up from the wireing he was doing..

“hey kid, what’s your name?” The Spanish one said.

“Mercury.” I replied.

“Awesome name.” the blonde kid looked up from his work and smiled at me.

“Nice hair.” I had black hair with silver lowlights and streaks. I got it done because Zacky said it looked like liquid mercury and I smiled at the thought.

“Im Zack.” The one with the black curly hair replied and I rolled my eyes.

Not another one.

“Alex.” The blonde kid said.

“Manny.” The Spanish kid said.

“Aw dude you look like a mouse kitty!” I squealed randomly at Manny and he made a confused face, and shrugged away a bit. Even his confused face looked mouse kitty-ish!

“Mouse kitty?” Zack questioned.

“Cant you see it?! He looks like a adorable mouse and a kitty!”

“Manbearpig!” Alex said randomly and we all laughed.

“I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.” I sighed.

“Well of course because im in the group, Its bound to be beautiful.” Zack replied pointing to himself and sticking out his chest.
Alex laughed loudly before sticking his open wire at Zack’s arm.

“Ow! You asshole you shocked me!” Manny and I were laughing hard in our seats while

Zack bitched like a baby. The rest of the period we fucked around ultimately not completing any work.

The bell rang and we got up and walked aou together. In the doorway, Zack yelled.

“Hadoken!” Before he punched Alex in the crotch.

“ZACK!” I yelled dying of laughter as Alex hunched over, trying to shuffle himself out of the
classroom. Zack and I high fived as Alex swore under his breath and breathed out a fuck you.

“you don’t know how much it hurts! Like the pain moves up!” He said to me and I laughed harder. I held my hand out to Alex and helped him up.

“Thank you. You decent person.”

“Im not decent, I just haven’t punched you in the crotch yet.” I replied and he nodded.

“You know what Mercury just shut up. Alright, shut up before I punch you in the nards.” Zack
said turning around and tried to threaten me, twitching his nose to adjust his glasses.

“I don’t have any!” I yelled and I started laughing for his random use of the word nard. We walked through the commons and out of the exit. I saw Brian standing outside looking around casually with a stupid grin on his face. Matt’s black truck was parked on the curb with the guys and Val looking out of the window laughing at him.

He wants me to die doesn’t he.

I walked with Zack, Manny and Alex over to Brian and he frowned.

“M, who are they.” He asked pulling out a Marlboro.

“I made friends today Bri!” I said happily and he just looked at them. Zack had the buckle on his backpack buckled across his chest and he twitched his nose to adjust his glasses.

They all stared at Brian with looks of awe.

Oh no.

Zack dropped to his knees and bowed down to Brian.

“You sir, are the awesomest guitarist ever.” I snorted as Zack bowed down. Brian had an amused expression on his face.

“Sorry bri, hes retarded.” I said pulling him up by his backpack and smacking his head Gibbs style.

“So you guys are.” Brian said waving his cigarette.

“Zack.”

“Manny.”

“Alex.”

“Nice to meet you guys, but we gotta go M.” Brian said exhaling on his cigarette. I glared at
him and he reluctantly stomped it out. I hated it when they smoked around me.

“Wait Mercury can we text?” Alex asked pulling out his green phone. We all pulled out our phones and exchanged numbers.

“Awesome, see you guys later!” I said turning around but I ran into Brian’s back.

“Brian, what the fuck.”

“Get on.” He said signaling to a piggy back ride.

“YAY!” I hopped on and I leaned down to say.

“Did Zacky dare you?”

“Yeah” I laughed and rested my head on his shoulder. Oh man Brian smelled so good. I got a tingly feeling as his hands went under my legs and I felt his muscles. My heart pounded and my face flushed.

He dropped me and I scrambled into the car. Matt sped off and in minutes we arrived at the house.

“How was it?” Val asked putting her arm around my shoulder and smiling at me.

“It was pretty cool. I made friends in electronics, and I gotta tell zacky I have Mrs. Lemmon for English!” I said running over to zacky.

“Zee!” I called and he turned his head up.

“I’ve got Mrs. Lemmon too!” I said and he burst out laughing.

“She was such a whore! Doesnt she look like one too!” He laughed.

“Yeah! She was trying to teach us how to pronounce a word and to make a swallowing sound at the back of your throat and im like whoa lady!” I said and Zacky laughed.

“She came onto Matt, Zacky, and I when we were in her class.” Brian added in laughing.

“She always tried to get us to come to extra help, if you know what I mean.” Zacky said laughing.

“Aw bro I don’t want to hear that!” I said covering my ears.

“Speaking of whores…” I mumbled as Michelle came in the door. Now I will admit, Michelle can be a nice person, but she likes Brian and she’s a bitch overall to me. I also know she’s closer to Brian’s age, but fuck it! Bottom line, I don’t like the bitch.

She walked into the dorr and smiled at Val and the guys, but her smile faded when she saw me standing with Brian and Zacky.

“Hey Bri- baby.” Michelle walked over and kissed him on the lips. She smirked at me after....bitch

Pause.

What?! Since when are they dating?! I felt the grip Brian had on my heart tighten and my heart was reduced to pieces in my chest. Before the tears could fall, I tried to compose myself rnough to walk up the stairs calmly. When I was sure no one could see me I ran all the way to my room at the end of the hall. I slammed my door and I crawled into my bed.

My tears rolled off my face onto my silver satin sheets. I rolled over so I faced my ceiling, which was painted black along with my walls. Zacky hired someone to paint in detail the solar system and outer space. Whenever I felt like crap I always lay here and I felt at peace.

I sniffled a few times and I heard the doorknob turn. I looked towards the door and I saw the familiar blonde hair.

“Val.” I whined, sniffling after.

“Sweetie are you okay?” Val asked me, sitting down next to me and rubbing my arm comfortimgly.

“No. I never knew they were dating!” See, Val knew I liked Brian, but Michelle was also her twin.

“Honey, I know its hard, but he is 7 years older than you! He is your brother’s age!”

“Don’t remind me! I cant help it Val! He’s always been there.” I cried, and Val pulled me into a comforting hug.

“You know what Mer, why don’t you grab your swimsuit and come in the pool with us okay?” She suggested. I don’t know if I honestly wanted to go. If michelle was there she was bound to be all over brian.

“I don’t know if I want to Val.”

“Brian will be shirtless and wet…”

I jumped up off of my mattress giggling as I ran for my closet.
