Chapter 3

(Mercury PoV)

Val always knew how to brighten my mood. I picked out my silver monokini. Val and everyone who knew me loved when I wore silver because I reminded them of mercury.

Silver highlights, silver bathing suit, silver sheets. You get the idea.

I pulled on the monokini in the bathroom and when I came out Val was already in one of my black bathing suits. I didn’t mind though because Val was like a sister to me.

“M, you don’t know how good silver looks on you!” Val commented and I just smiled. We both walked downstairs together to the patio where all our friends were already in the pool.

“Hey it’s M and Val!” Johnny cried out drawing everyone’s attention to us. But the end of his sentence was sputtered because jimmy dunked his head under the water causing me to chuckle cause when he came back up he glared at Jimmy and they began splashing each other.

Val grabbed my hand and we ran and jumped into the pool together screaming and laughing before we hit the water. I came up spitting the water in my mouth at Zacky.

“Bitch! Stop it!” He yelled trying to block the spray. I laughed at is disgusted expression.

“Aw Zacky did I wet you? Im sorry!” I fake cooed. He mock glared at me before he splashed me with a giant wave.

“You asshole! Fuck you, im going over to the cooler side.” I said swimming in the direction of Jimmy and Brian.

“Brian!” I squealed. He turned to face me and he smiled so did Jimmy. I took in Brian’s wet features, his hair dripping beads of water over his muscular, tanned body.

“Uppy!” I said grabbing his shoulders and signaling he pick me up. I saw Michelle give me a look and I smirked. If I was going to get childish affection from Brian, then I would get it. I scrambled onto Brian’s shoulders and he held my thighs. I felt heat rush from where he touched me throughout my body and I had that tingling feeling.

“Okay up there Mer?” His velvety voice bringing me from my thoughts.

“As long as you’re holding me im good.” I said. I ran my hands through his wet hair and he laughed a bit.

“Your hair is so SOFT!” I exclaimed causing him to laugh more.

“Who wants to play chicken!?” Brian suggested excitedly.

“Yeah!” Val yelled, climbing up on Matt’s shoulders.
I looked at Zacky, Johnny and Jimmy wading in the water. Well someone has to get on someone’s shoulders.

“Johnny I vote you on top.” I said with a smirk. Jimmy gave a devilish grin to Johnny, poor soul.

“Zacky why don’t you carry little Johnny Christ!” Brian cooed.

“Alright fuck you guys. Come on Christ!” Zacky said while Johnny climbed onto his shoulders.
Jimmy stood in the middle of the triangle we had formed.

“Alright, no eye gauging or crotch shots. Let’s keep this clean.” He said acting official.

“This isn’t underground fighting Jimbo; we are in a pool playing chicken.” I confirmed.

“You guys never let me do NOTHING!”
Zacky approached me with Johnny on his shoulders them both grinning madly. We wrestled each other grabbing our shoulders and trying to force the other off.

“Give up M.”

“Not to you Christ!”
Johnny almost got me off but then Zacky yelled.

“CHRIST! DON’T TELL ME WHAT I THINK IT IS. THAT’S NOT….. JESUS CHRIST! DID YOU JUST GET A FUCKIN BONER ON ME?! FUCK DUDE, GROSS!” Zacky yelled tipping Johnny off of his shoulders and sent him into the water. Johnny laughed the whole time.

“That’s my fucking sister!” He said and I struggled for air to breathe. Brian wasn’t far off from me. There were noticeable tears on his face aside from the pool water.

“B-bri! P-put me do-own!” I forced out through my laughing fit. My gut hurt now.
He let go of my legs and I fell backward. I screamed before I hit the water not expecting him to let go.

“BRIA-“Going underwater cut me off. I opened my eyes and saw a flurry of bubbles and the chlorine stung my eyes. I accidentally sucked in a large mouthful of air. I was going down head first so I had to turn my body up, but it hurt cause I had just sucked in a lot of water in to my lungs. I started to panic.

I didn’t want to drown but I couldn’t even move.
I felt arms wrap around me and pull me up. I was being held as the person swam to the shallow end before I was picked up bridal style and taken out of the pool. I could barely breathe, and I felt the water bubbling and stinging in my lungs.

“Shit Brian! Why would you let go!?” I heard Zacky yell and everyone was just mumbling.

“I didn’t fucking know!”

“Shut the fuck up! Somebody save her!”

I heard them saying, but it was distant to me. My chest began heaving violently for more oxygen.

I felt someone’s presence near me and before I knew it I felt warm lips on mine. Heat rushed through my body tingling my fingertips. He breathed into my mouth and I felt my chest rise. I coughed violently and the pool water began coming out of my mouth.

I felt the warm presence again and I sat up, coughing and spitting up the water from the pool

“Ugh. Zacky…” I called out for my brother before I opened my eyes and saw everyone huddles around me but Brian was on my level. My mind raced and I put two and two together.

Brian saved me... I smiled a little before I reached up for Zacky and he picked me up bridal style and took me into the house. Ever since I was a kid I loved when people would hold me Especially Brian.Much hasn’t changed and Zacky knew I liked to be held.

“Are you okay M?” He asked and I replied in a scratchy voice.

“It feels like my lungs are on fire.” He kissed the top of my head and carried me inside. Brian had disappeared somewhere but my chest hurt too much to care where he went. He almost reached the stairs when his cell went off.

“That’s Gena.” Gena was his girlfriend who was like another older sister to me since Zina wasnt here. Out of all of Zachary's girlfriends, I liked Gena the most.

“Brian can you take her upstairs?” Zacky asked as his phone continued to ring.

"Tell Gee I said Hi." I said, my voice still a bit rough.

Brian took me out of his arms and I winced a few times when the stinging became too much. I felt soft fabric against my exposed skin seeing as Brian had changed his clothes. I snuggled into him more, reveling in the feeling of being held by him.

“MC im sorry. I didn’t mean for you to get hurt. I didn’t know you...” He asked pouting. MC was always Brian’s nickname for me from M of my first name and the C in it.
I put my hand up to stop him from his ramble.

“Brian…its okay. I know you wouldn’t do that on purpose.” I croaked.

“But I feel like such an ass.”

“I forgive you Brian.” I said. He kissed the top of my head before he brought me into my
room. I began to shiver, since I was almost always cold no matter where I went. He put my down and gave me a pair of pants from my drawer, and one of his shirts that he got made for me. It said “Syn” on it except in purple letters and the death bat was on the back. That was my favorite shirt.

“Here go dry off and change into something warm.” He smiled warmly at me and I walked into the bathroom. I stripped of my monokini and put on the soft fleece pants he got me. I pulled on his shirt and I smiled. I wrung out my hair and towel dried it before I brushed it out, slightly damp. I walked back out and Brian was just walking out of the door.

“Brian…will you stay with me. Im cold.”

“Sure Mer, what are friends for.” He smiled and walked back over, putting his arm around my shoulder.

“Oh my god! THE Synyster Gates is my friend?! Oh joy Oh joy!” I replied with sarcasm.

“Watch it Baker.” He warned pointing a finger at me. I giggled and jumped onto my soft bed.

I crawled under my sheets and patted the spot next to me.
Brian lay down and I snuggled against his chest. He just put his arm over mine and lightly rubbed my shoulder in a comforting way.

“Thanks Bri.” I told him in a sleepy voice

“Anytime M.”
