Chapter 4

(Mercury PoV)

I woke up but Brian wasn’t there. It was 4 am and I groaned before I rolled over.

“Fuck!” I yelled as I fell off of my bed onto the floor. Rubbing my head, I got up and walked
out of my room. I slowly thumped down the stairs still affected by the morning grogginess. I went to get some water, but I heard noises in the living room. I went in to see Brian watching TV.

“Brian? What r u doing up?” I asked in a tired voice.

“Not much actually I couldn’t sleep.” He replied in a dead voice.

“Is something wrong?” I asked walking over before I yawned.

“Michelle was being pissy because I didn’t spend time with her yesterday.” He mumbled.
Brian and I were really close so we talked about stuff like that to each other causei know he wont go psycho protective on me…well not all the time. He was always my favorite when I was younger and I felt so comfortable with him.

“We got into a fight while you were still asleep and she stormed out.” He replied rubbing his temples and had a annoyed and sad expression.

“Im sorry.”

“Why are you apologizing?”

“Cause you were with me and the guys and you almost drowned me thus resulting in you kissing my ass over it and doing anything to help me including ignoring your girlfriend.” I replied smiling and he laughed slightly shaking his head.

“It’s gonna work out for you Brian.” I said smiling a little at him.

“I know you don’t like Michelle but it means a lot that you care I love her.”

He said pulling me next to him on the couch. His words stung a bit but I should have expected it. He wouldn’t just drop Michelle for a 15 year old.

“As long as your happy, and you don’t go all emo on me.” I joked and he squeezed my shoulder.

“You’re the best, kid.” He said resting his head on mine.

“Im not a child Brian!” I whined.

“Sure you aren’t.” He rolled his eyes and looked at the two animals on the screen.

“What the hell are you watching?” I asked pointing at the screen.

“Ren & Stimpy.” He replied, his eyes not leaving the screen laughing when the Chihuahua character got pissed off.

“And Im the child…” I mumbled.

“Watch it with me Mer.” He begged and pouted at me. And I scooted into his lap and lay back on his chest. I felt his chest rumble as he laughed at the nonsensical humor.

“Brian, this show got cancelled when I was like 2!” I protested.

“Shut up. Its awesome. I used to watch this all the time when I was around your age…Damn that made me feel old.” He said scrunching up his face.

“Brian your 22. You ARE old.” I joked giggling. He squished me into his chest and I could
barely breathe. I couldnt lie that I didn’t enjoy being that close to him. I smacked him repeatedly and he let go.

“You’re an idiot.” I said mumbling. He cradled me, this time gently and lovingly, like an older brother would.

“Asskissing gets you nowhere Brian.” I said realzing he was trying to save himself from me being annoyed at him.

“Well then fuck you.” He said pushing me off of his lap on to the spot on the couch next to him.

“Oh no you didn’t!” I said and he smirked at me. I jumped at him but he used his heaviness
to pin me down and I looked at him like ‘oh shit.’

“You know better MC.” He said before he began incessantly tickling my sides.

“Brian!!Hahaha! Let me fu-cking go!” I squirmed around before I pushed him off of me and he rolled off the couch, but he brought me with him

“OW!” I said making a pained face as Brian lay on top of me….crushing me.

“Br-iian. Get the fuck off…” I choked out.

“I am on top once again!” He said triumphantly before he got off and stood up.

“You are an ass…”I said getting up. He offered me his hand but I shook my head and I pushed him away. I pretended to be pissed off and I walked up the stairs.

“Come on M it was a joke.” He pleaded and I stopped walking. I pretended to cry and I sniffled.

“Stop fucking around.” He said and I began to whimper. I ran up te stairs and I laughed to myself as I neared the top I heard Brian coming up.

I smirked to myself and I went into my room. I stood behind my closed door with my hands on my hips and I waited for Brian to come in. he opened the door and he saw me with a few tears on my cheeks, but smirking like hell and my hand on my hip.

“I win.” I said in a sing song voice.

“You!” He said before he came after me. I went on the other side of the bed and he was on the opposite side. We glared at each other, me trying to avoid him, him trying to get me. He went around to get me but I took the shortcut over the bed. He grabbed my foot and dragged me towards him.

“Oh no! Hes gonna EAT me!” I yelled as Brian scooped me up giving me a fake glare.

“You callin me fat, bitch?” he said in a high pitched, ghetto voice.

“Of course not Bri Bri.” I said but I yawned after.

“don’t you find this fuckin retarded that we are doing this at 5 am?” he asked as he still
cradled me. He yawned right after me.

“No Brian, I find it retarded we didn’t do this at 3 am.” I yawned again.

“Stop yawning! Your making me tired.” He said before he yawned once more.

“ So go to bed.” I replied my eyes fluttering. He lay me down on the bed and I clung to his neck forcing him to stay down with me. His body was tensed but he relaxed as he lay on his back, and I was cuddled against him.

“Goodnight Bri Bri.” I whispered to him.

“Night Mercury.” He said putting his arm around me. I fell asleep with a smile on my face.

“Im fucking bored!” Jimmy yelled.

“Jimmy, its Sunday. What could we do on a Sunday?” Matt asked.

“We could learn about Jesus Christ!” I said sarcastically. Jimmy began ranting about the
story of Jesus and I wanted to hit him.

Just then I got a text from Alex, about the carnival near the pier.

“Lets go to the carnival. There is one near the pier. Why not?” I suggested after I slid my phone closed.

“You shouldn’t have said that.” Zacky said before Jimmy and Brian’s eyes got really wide.

“CARNIVAL!!!” They both yelled.

“And Johnny can be the Circus Midget!” Matt said and the room caved into laughter.

“So are you guys up for it?” Val asked.

“The question is Valary, are YOU ready for the challenge?!” Brian said in a rough voice.
I smacked him over the head and pointed my finger at him.

“Are YOU ready to shut up?” I said mocking his voice. He glared at me and I wiggled my tongue at him. He gave me a look and turned to Zacky, tattling on me.

“Um, excuse me Zachary but I believe your sister made a sexual pass at me.” He said pointing his finger at me and having a confused look.

“What?!” Zacky spun around looking at my shocked face and Brian’s fake serious face.

“Brian you’re an idiot. She wouldn’t do that. He said before turning around.

“Haha suck it.” I said low enough for him to hear. He jaw dropped and he stared at me like I had grown 2 heads. I smiled at him and ran over to Zacky.

“Zacky, uppy.” I asked and I hopped on his back. I looked bac at Brian and I gave him a devious glare.

“Stay back!” he made a cross with his hands. I wiggled my tongue at him again and he turned to Val.

“Tell me you did not just see that!”

“Brian you are out of your mind.” She replied walking ahead of him and giving me a wink.

“You are some sort of genius.” He replied walking past me. But he reached over and smacked my brother’s ass.

“Brian!” We both yelled and he blew us kisses. But to Zacky he made a phone with his fingers and whispered ‘call me.’

“Your friends are idiots.” I mumbled.

“You love us!” Most of them yelled from in front of us.

We piled into Zacky’s car and he started to back out after he tunred the key. There was limited room in the car so I had the best time ever! mistfortune to sit on brian’s lap.

Win.

We arrived at the carnival and Jimmy got out running and screaming!

“Carnival! Carnival! Come with me my circus midget!” he picked up Johnny on his back and began to run around. Poor Johnny looked like he was in pain.

“Put me down you fucker!” He screamed and jimmy dropped him.
I saw the Yo, yo ride and imy eyes lit up. That was my favorite ride!

“Yo M!” I heard someone call my name and I turned around. I saw Alex and Zack coming towards me, Alex’s long hair swaying and Zack texting on his taped up phone.

“Sup guys!” I said walking towards them, knuckle touched Alex.
Zack slid his phone closed and looked up.

“Sup Hoe!” He said and held out his fist. I punched it instead. He made a pained face and I glared at him.

“ How’d u get here?” Alex asked. I looked back to see Zacky Brian and Matt glaring at me.Shit

“I came with my brother and his idiots, and Val.” I answered tucking my hands in my pockets.

“I see by the murderous glares, they are protective.” Alex guessed. I nodded.

“I was gonna go on the YoYo, before you guys called me and damnit im going on! Come on!” I grabbed Alex’s arm who grabbed Zacks. I dragged them over to the group.

“ Zacky, Brian? Val? Will u go on the yo yo with us?” I asked with my puppy dog eyes.

“But I hate the YoYo!” Both my brother and zack whined at the same time.

“Well then hold hands! Come on.” Zacky groaned and I ran all the way to the line. The man let us through and I picked a two seater. I sat next to Val, and we looked back to see Brian
and Zacky sitting next to each other, and behind them Zachary and Alex. Jimmy also dragged Johnny on and they sat in front of us. The ride went up and it began to spin and tilt.

“Whoo!!” Val and I yelled. Jimmy and Johnny were waving and screaming and kicking their legs like maniacs.

“IDIOTS!” Val and I both yelled at them.
I looked back and saw Brian laughing hard as Zacky grabbed his arm for dear life. I also saw Zack holding onto Alex and screaming.

“MERCURY YOU FUCKING BITCH!” In the middle of his threat, his glasses fell off to the floor.

“FUCK!” He yelled. Val and I started cracking up.

“WHEN WE GET DOWN FROM HERE, I WILL PUNCH YOU SO HARD IN THE BALLS!” He
yelled at me and we laughed even harder.

“Brian! We’re gonna die. We are gonna die Brian. Im telling you right now I fucking love you,
man.” I heard Zacky panic behind us. Brian was laughing his ass off and Zacky was genuinely scared. He hated this ride.

The ride slowed down and began to lower. The ride fully stopped and lifted off the bar and
got out. I walked over to Zack and Alex. Alex was laughing at Zack who was gripping the chain and alex’s arm tightly and breathing heavy, his eye wide open. He slowly and rigidly moved his head to face me and he breathed out one word.

“You….” He flailed and got off of the bar and ran towards me.

By now everyone was exiting the ride and we met up with Matt, who took all of it on his phone camera.

“You guys are priceless.” He said shutting his phone.
I turned to see Zack wearing glasses that were cracked.

“Oh, sorry about your glasses dude. I didn’t know.” I apologized, smiling a little.

“It’s okay…for now.” He said and I laughed.
We started walking and talking until I stopped, staring at the massive cotton candy booth.

“Oh. My.God!” I exclaimed. The Cotton candy was bigger than my head.

“Brian! Brian! BRIAN!” I tugged on his arm and he looked at me like I was crazy.

“Gimme the candy Bri.” I pointed at the giant puff of pink sugary goodness.

“Fine…” He groaned and he went over to the stand. There was a blonde girl who was obviously giving Brian the ‘seductive eye’, I could see it from over here. She was blatantly flirting with him, and by his stance he was annoyed and uninterested. I felt jealousy bubble within me and I walked up to the stand with a pissed off expression. I saw the girl look at me for a split second and Brian followed her eyes. He looked back and saw me and I smiled at him. I grabbed his arm and I asked sweetly.

“Do you have my candy yet Bri?” The girl huffed and handed him the giant cotton candy puff.

He gave me a look and took a GIANT bite out of my cotton candy. My jaw dropped and I stared at him. I snatched the candy and I walked back.

“OH SWEET!” Jimmy, Johnny, Matt, and Zack yelled as they took pieces of my candy. Alex stayed back and didn’t take any, but since EVERYONE basically attacked it I offered him some. He took a piece and I looked around at everyone before I shoved my face into the cotton candy. I bit off a large piece before I let it melt.

“Uhh dude you have a little.” Matt started, pointing to his face and signaling I made a mess.
Zacky licked a napkin and began wiping my face with it, smirking and laughing.

“EW! Zacky that’s gross!” I protested but he kept going.

“There.” He said throwing the napkin away.

“I never thought id actually see the day where I would hang out with Avenged.” He said, twitching his nose to keep his cracked glasses from slipping off of his nose.

“ I never thought id see the day when I would actually consider them a band. I still don’t, they
are just a group of idiots with instruments.”

“Shut up kid!” Matt said ruffling my hair, messing it up. I was still eating my cotton candy. I
hadn’t seen Zack or Alex beside us anymore. I looked back to see Alex running with Zack on his shoulders. Zacks face had that “Holy shit! This is awesome!!” expression and I laughed. I turned around and saw Matt holding Val on his shoulders.

“Well. Im jealous. Who’s carrying me.”Jimmy raised his hand frantically.`

“Yes Jimmy?” I asked

“Pick me.” He said putting his hand down.

“Alright. Come on Jim!” I said as he bent down. I got on his shoulders and he held my legs and stood up.

“WHOA! You guys look so small! OH! Where’s Johnny! I cant find him!” I said, meanwhile he
was walking next to us.

“Shut up Short shit.” He replied smirking.

“UM EXCUSE ME?! WHO IS LOOKING DOWN ON YOU?!” I yelled and everyone started laughing.

“Hey Brian? Why don’t you hop on Zacky-O.”

“He’s mad heavy!” Zacky protested.

“Stop being such a fairy.” I shot back. Brian laughed and jumped on Zacky’s back.

“AGHH!” He groaned as he tried walking. He staggered and his knees bent lower with each step. Brian was clinging to him tightly and he had a goofy smile on his face. Zacky dropped to his knees, then feel straight on his stomach with Brian still sitting on him.

“Syn, if you haven’t noticed this but this looks extremely homosexual.” Zacky mumbled out from under him. They both got up and Brian held Zacky’s hand and touched his face trying to apologize but Zacky smacked him away.

“ These guys are awesome.” Alex said, Zachary still on his shoulders.

“They are idiots!! How many times must I repeat this!”

“Oh my fucking gawd! It’s a fuckin ferris wheel!” Matt yelled like an idiot and began to walk faster minding Val who he was carrying.

“See what I mean.” I replied dead panned.
