Catastrophe Can Start With A One Tiny Gesture Of The Mouth

Just as planed, City met me after school on the steps and greeted me with a warm hug. “What’s this for.” I tightened my grip on her waist. “Just because. Are you sure Mikey won’t mind me coming over.” She asked. “I don’t think so. He shouldn’t.” I stated. She smiled and let go of me to get in the car. We listened to the radio as I drove to my house. I was surprised when I found out she liked Nirvana and The Smashing Pumpkins, and pretty much everything I was into. I wasn’t really into Metallica though. But I knew once Ray found out, since he was a huge Metallica fan, that those two would talk non-stop about them.
I pulled up into the driveway and got out, walking up to the door with City behind me and to the side. “Anyone home?” I called. If anyone was home, they didn’t answer. “That’s weird. The door was unlocked.” City looked around the kitchen and I lead her to the living room where my mom was reading a book on the couch. She was just so into her book, she hadn’t heard me call. “Oh, Gerard. Sorry dear-what’s this?” She looked at me and City. We let each others hand go and I rubbed the back of my neck. I’d forgotten that we’d gotten into this holding the others hand when we were alone.
“Uh, mom this is City. You know the girl who dropped off my homework when I was sick.” Mom smiled but tried to hide it by covering with her hand. “Its nice to meet you, City. I’m glad to have one of Gerard’s girlfriends come over.” She realized she had accidentally put City on the spot and tried re-wording it. “I mean, like a friend of his, whose also a girl.” She troubled. “Okay, mom. We’re gonna be up in my room.” I made tiny movements towards the stairs. “Okay, honey, if you need anything, just let me know.” She let in an apologetic way. City smiled and followed me to my room.
I closed the door and sighed. City leaned an arm on my shoulder and asked If I was okay. “I’m fine.” I smiled placing a hand on her arm. She smiled and tucked her lips in like she was embarrassed. “What?”
“Nothing.” She lead on and turned to look around the room. “I love your room.” She said and looked out the window. I walked behind her and wrapped my arms around her waist, grabbing one of her arms and pointing to the tree in the backyard. “Mikey and I use to love playing out in the yard.” I could tell she was smiling. She does that a lot around me, doesn’t she. “Were we ever friends?” She asked out of nowhere. “You said hi to me in the 5th grade once. I think that’s it too.” I couldn’t help but chuckle. “Oh my God,” She whispered under her breath. “When we hit middle school, you were suddenly popular.”
She closed the blinds and turned around, planting a light kiss upon my lips and snaking her arms around my neck.
We separated once and pretended like nothing had just happened when Mikey suddenly opened the door. “Woah were you two just like, making out? Frankie c’mere!” Before I knew It both Frankie and Mikey were pressing into my room. “Mikey, Get out!” I yelled. “Frank, you too!” They shrunk back and closed the door. I sighed and sat next to City on the bed. “Is this always gonna happen?” City collapsed on the bed, her head landing on the pillow. “Don’t get to comfy. The last thing I need is Mikey barging in and thinking we’re sleeping together.”
“That’d be really bad.” She shot up, but tucked the pillow against her stomach. “So, you ready to head downstairs?” I asked. “I guess.” She said despite herself. I grabbed her hand and walked down the stairs.
Ray and Frank were sitting on the couch watching t.v when I sat City down on a chair and went to get her a drink. “Hey, City.” Frank said casually. “Hi.” She answered the same way. Mikey apologized for barging in when he saw me in the kitchen. “Just don’t mention anything about that to her.” I said filling up a glass. “Why is she even here?” I couldn’t believe what he asked. “Duh, cause I like her.” I said. “You do realize that she’s the queen of the group whose made fun of us for the last 3 years right.”
“That was then, this is now. She likes me.” Mikey shook his head and dropped the subject.
We headed back into the living room where I handed City her coffee. “Thanks.” She said softly. Ray was the only used to me being nice to City though Frankie didn’t care much. And Mikey, I didn’t know what was going on with him nor did I really want to know.
...
“Hey Ray, did you know City likes Metallica?” I asked trying to change the subject. “Really? What’s your favorite song?” He asked. “Um, The Unforgiving.” She answered nervously.
Ray was about to say something when her phone rang. She grabbed it from her pocket and answered it. “Yeah...Did he really? He’s a prick anyways, so I don’t care. No one probably. Why, did you find someone? I don’t think he’s in to that. Not where he has to dance, no. I’m hanging up now.” Click.
City looked up at me, after setting her phone down on the coffee table.“Who was that.” I asked. “Dakota found me a new boyfriend.” She gave a puzzled look. Ray and Frank decided it was a good time to head home and study for the algebra quiz. Mikey had gone to his room. “Really.” My voice shook. Dammit. “Yeah, John Crocker.” She cleared her throat. “Oh, so I guess your going out with him now.” I said, trying to act fine. “No, cause I like someone else.”
“Me?”
She nodded, “No, I just go around kissing boys I don’t like.” She played inching closer to me. “I’ll worn the boys at school tomorrow.” I said. “You’re mean.” I could feel her breath on my face. “I’m pretty nice for mean guy then.” I placed at hand on her cheek as she topped my lips with hers. She pushed harder, trying to get me to give in as my hand traced her back. She broke the kiss from my lips and went to my jaw line and then my neck, teasing the skin just below my adam’s apple with her lips. I lean my head back and let out a soft moan in her name. She runs her hand down my chest, stomach and rests it on my lap, pressing down slightly to push her up so she could kiss the lips. She doesn’t know that she’s putting pressure on a certain part until I grab her hand and she moves it. I hear something from the kitchen, but pay no mind to it as I want to enjoy this moment while it lasts. My hand starts to roam under her shirt when she looks up and freezes. “What is it?” I turn my head to see in the doorway, her dad and my mom standing there watching us. “Fuck.”
