I kept telling myself to concentrate on the paper in front of me but I couldn’t help but think about him. My husband.

It’s been two weeks since my trip to Vegas and I haven’t gotten around to telling anyone that I was married. I mean, it’s not like it meant anything. It was some drunken hookup that ended badly, no need for discussion. But I remembered exactly what he looked like. And I couldn’t help but think that I knew him somehow...

I suddenly snapped out of my thoughts. Jeff wanted two more songs by Friday night. And it being Thursday I was beginning to get stressed. After 10 years in the music business couldn’t he tell that you can’t rush excellence?

I sighed and threw down the pen and stared at my guitar and all the buttons what gave my music that rock/acoustic/metal-ish feel.

It was 7:30 pm and I was working later then I was supposed to at the studio. Jeff suggested that I worked later and alone for a while to clear my head without distractions from my friends or family.

I stood up and walked over to the couch in the corner of the room and un-gracefully fell on it. Pulling a pillow over my face I screamed as loud as I could. Why did I have to have such a demanding Producer?

“Hey Nora, guess who- what are you doing?” I didn’t need to lift up my head to know it was Jeff. I mumbled something that probably wouldn’t have made sense even if there hadn’t been a pillow on my face. Jeff just laughed at me.

“Okay then. Don’t talk. Just listen.”

I rolled my eyes under my closed eyelids

“Your uncle Kevin just called and wanted to know if you would join him on the Taste Of Chaos tour.” How sad was that? My own uncle had to call my Producer first before talking to me. “So of course I said yes.”

“You what?” I shouted, sitting straight up. “Jeff! Do you have any idea of how busy I am! Plus, your not my manager. Call my uncle back right now and tell him I’m not going!”

“Wow Nora. Didn’t think you would go all Diva on me.” He joked.

“Shut up.” I groaned and flopped myself back on the couch. I was not a Diva.

“Yes. I am aware of how busy you are kiddo, but think about it! You won’t even have to preform and all those other artists will be great influences on your musical abilities! And I know I’m not your manager but I still at least have some say in what events you participate in.”

I though about this for a second.

“It’s still a no. My musical abilities are fine without the help of egotistical rock stars.” I smirked even though he couldn't see it.

“Fine.”

I raised my eyebrows. Jeff never gave in that fast.

“If you want to spend your time in the studio with Marcus when you could be rocking out with Atreyu, I can’t argue with that.”

Was he kidding me?

“What did you just say?”

“I said ‘if you want to spend you time-”

“Yeah ‘with Marcus’. Ew.” I shivered. “But rocking out with Atreyu?”

“Did I say that?” He pretended not to know what I was talking about. “Oh well. Doesn’t matter now. You don’t want to come.” He shot me a cocky smile.

I glared at him.

We both knew that he won this fight. No one in their right mind would rather hang out with Marcus then go on the Taste Of Chaos tour. Besides, I knew it wouldn't be horrible. I’ve kinda always wanted to go on that tour. Warped was amazing. I saw some of my favourite bands. 3OH!3, blessthefall, Escape The Fate and... Avenged Sevenfold...

“No fucking way.”

“Pardon?”

I ignored Jeff. The wedding band in my pocket suddenly felt heavy. I seriously couldn’t believe I didn’t recognize him before. How stupid was I? Wait. That was impossible. It couldn’t be him.

I rolled off the couch and bolted over to the laptop sitting on the table beside my guitar. Tapping my foot impatiently, I waited for the electronic device to start up.

“What are you doing?”

I still ignored him. The window finally opened and I clicked on the little Internet symbol at the bottom of the screen. I just needed to see a picture of him. Maybe I just married a look alike of him.

“Who are you searching?”

“Jeff, shut up for a minute.”

I typed in his name in the Google Image search engine.

Clicking on the first image it began to grow bigger.

Once it had filled the entire screen, my eyes were wide, and I was pretty sure my mouth was hanging open. Not the prettiest I’ve ever looked but I couldn’t help it. This was just too mind-blowing.

I was married to Zacky Vengeance.
