You Know My Love Is Always on Your Side

It's been a little over a month since Ian died. Blake keeps telling me that Ian's watching over me and he wants me to be happy but it's really hard to do that when I just lost the last Grand in the family. Our family officially stops with me, since I would have to change my name when I get married. Not that I'm complaining, Grand men kind sucked, except for my dad and my brother.

Blake sat next to me in bed and pulled me against him, kissing the top of my head. I sighed and looked up at him. He moved my bangs from my eyes and kissed me.

“I don't want to sound bad, but you kind of need to get over this.” He said slowly.

“I know, it's just.....hard.” I said, looking away from his eyes.

“You know what I promised your brother?” He said, lifting my chin making me look at him.

“What?” I said quietly.

“I promised to make you happy. He told me after he dies to make sure you're okay and that you move on.” He said, giving me a smile.

“I'm making it hard aren't I?”

“Just a little.” He said, giving me a smile.

I couldn't help but smile. My brother was still looking out for me, even now. I rested my head on Blake's shoulder and sighed. I stared down at Blake and mine's intertwined fingers, making a smile spread across my face.

“Wanna go to the beach?” He asked.

“Sure. I think I've been a hermit long enough.” I said, looking up into his amazing eyes.

“That's the spirit! You're brother is proud.” He said, giving me a goofy smile.

I giggled as he crawled off the bed, pulling me with him. He kissed me sweetly before grabbing his phone to make a quick call. I pulled on bathing suit and then pulled on some shorts and a tank top. I slipped on my flip flops and sat on the bed waiting for Blake. He came back and smiled at me, he got changed and we went to the beach. It was still really hot but the sun was slowly setting on the ocean. We sat on the sand and Blake wrapped his arms around my waist as we watched the sunset.

“It's so beautiful.” I said.

“Nothing compared to you.” He said, kissing the top of my head.

I laughed and kissed his cheek. We stayed silent for a little while before he stood up, pulling me with him. He held my hand as we walked down the beach slowly, occasionally kissing each other. It was the definition of romantic. Blake's hand left mine and he disappeared from my view. I turned around and I think my heart stopped. There was Blake, down on one knee, a nervous look on his face. He took my hand in his and he smiled.

“Katie, I love you. So much. Since the first time I met you, I knew that I had to have you. Almost losing you to that....knob just confirmed how much I need you. I know you're young but we can wait a few years if you want. I'm going to get straight to it.....Will you marry me?” He said.

I felt my heart beating a million miles an hour. Tears started forming in my eyes and my smile grew as I nodded. His smiled matched mine as he slid the ring on my finger and jumped up, pulling me as close as possible and kissing me. I never knew that you could put so much love into one kiss but I'm sure this was close. I'm pretty sure my legs were turning into jello. When we pulled away, we were both in the sand, Blake smiling down at me.

“I love you so much.” He said, kissing me again.

“I love you too.” I said, giggling as he kissed my neck.

“We have to tell Molly and Todd!” He said, jumping up and holding his hand out to me.

I smiled and took his hand as we walked back to the car. The whole car ride, Blake was kissing our hands. I couldn't help but laugh at how hyper he was now. Once we got to their house, Blake squeezed my hand and moved his arm around my waist. Molly was the first to the door, she smiled when she saw us.

“SIT DOWN MY PREGNANT WIFEY!” Todd shouted from the couch.

She shot him a look and he smiled. She moved to the side and shut the door. We stood in front on both of them, Blake practically bouncing like a six year old hyped up on Monster. I looked at him and laughed.

“What's up?” Molly asked as she sat next to Todd.

“Well....” I started but I couldn't find my words so I just walked over to her and showed her my hand.

I'm pretty sure I lost my hearing after that. The sound of Molly screaming is.....horrifying. Todd yanked my hand over to him and he just stared at the ring. He looked back at Blake then back at the ring. He really didn't say anything but Molly was positively ecstatic.

“You guys are so cute! I knew you'd get married!” She said, tears rolling down her cheeks.

“Molls! Don't cry!” I said, pulling her into a hug.

“I'm sorry. It's just....you're like a little sister and Bilko is such a good guy for you and I'm hormonal shut up!” She said.

I jumped back and looked at her stomach. She looked down and smiled.

“It touched me!” I shouted with a smile.

“She knows who you are.” Molly said.

“Aw! Hi there little sheila! You're going to be so cute!” I cooed, kissing her stomach.

“Stop that!” She said, laughing a little.

“I can't wait until she's born. She's going to be the cutest thing.” I said as Blake wrapped his arm around my waist.

“Me either.” She said, rubbing her stomach.

Everything is just....so perfect right now.for now at least
