Spring, Winter, Fall, and Summer are probably the closest sisters you will ever meet. Their mother and they go through everything together. But what will happen when their mother dies and they are forced to move from New York to their mothers old home in Louisville Mississippi, to live with their Aunt Lidia. Will Spring be able to keep their family together? How will reserved, beautiful, Winter cope being so far away from her friends and her boyfriend, Eric? How can hyper, friendly, Fall deal with not being near the party scene? And most of all, how will Summer, who hasn't spoken since her father's death when she was seven, deal with the world without her mother and best friend, Becca, to deal with people and teachers that she can't speak to?
