Sequel: Carpe Diem

Sink Into Me

Twenty Five.

Considering there were seven of us everyone came to the conclusion that we should take two cars, I had a bad feeling about something, I didn’t know what at the time, but god, I was so right.

“Okay so we’re taking two cars, what‘s the plan?” Matt asked everyone.

“Well, I’ll drive my car down and you drive yours?” Fred suggested.

“Yeah that sounds good, so that means three passengers in one car and two in the other”

“I’ll sit in the car that doesn’t have Satan’s spawn in” I grinned.

“Don’t even start Rubano, seriously” Adam said as he rolled his eyes.

“You know what? Just for that, you can ride with “Satan’s spawn” in my car” Matt smirked.

So much for family helping each other out!

“You are not serious?” I questioned in disbelief.

“You bet I’m serious” Matt laughed.

“Fine, well, I call shotgun-”

“No can do, I already called it!” Lidia announced.

I just sighed in defeat, this can’t be happening.

“I don’t want to ride with Adam! What happened to freedom of choice?!” I shrieked.

“Shut the hell up Rubano! Complaining isn’t going to get you anywhere!” Adam scoffed.

For once, I think Satan had a point, this is the only time I’m admitting it.

“You shut up! I don’t want to ride with you and your annoying ways!”

“Surely you know we’re going to be like this on the way there? Why not separate us?!” Adam shouted.

“Because maybe for once in your lives you’ll speak civily?” Matt said.

Adam and I turned to each other and glared “Fat Chance” we said in unison.

“Come on, lets get this over with, the sooner we get there the sooner I can get away from Satan here for a few hours” I said as I encouraged everyone to hurry up.

“Geez, you’re so impatient!” Lidia chuckled.

“Hello?! IT’S THE FAIR!” I grinned in excitement.

“Right so, Fred you‘re taking Eddie and Mark, right?” Matt asked.

“That’s the plan! I hope you survive the arguments these two will have” Fred laughed as he pointed at Adam and I.

“I hope I survive the drive there!” I scoffed as I threw a glare at Adam.

“Now now children, play nicely and get in the car” Matt laughed.

I walked up to Matt and ruffled his hair, moving out of range before he had a chance to get me back and walked the few steps to the car. I opened the door and slid inside, behind the passengers seat, at least if things got bad Lidia would be there, Matt’s just an evil boy who’s putting me through hell and making me sit with the enemy, he doesn’t deserve me to sit behind him, I’ll let him suffer with Satan, ha-ha.

About ten minutes later we were off, Matt had mentioned it was only a short drive to the fair, about fifteen minutes at the most, there had been no arguments so far, I tried to distract myself from getting involved in one by talking to Lidia but of course, Adam had to ruin it.

“Don’t you ever stop talking?!” He scoffed from the side of me.

“It beats talking to you!” I snapped.

“Now children, silence!” Matt said from the front seat.

“Matt, you’re such a patronising git” I laughed.

“I know, but it gets you two to shut up doesn’t it?” He chuckled.

“Hmm…possibly” I retorted.

“How long is it till we get there? I might end up committing a murder if we’re not there soon!” Adam said angrily and he glared at me.

“Ooo, touchy, very touchy!” I smirked.

“Taylor shut up, Adam about five minutes” Matt replied.

“Hallelujah!” I exclaimed as I pumped my fist in the air for two reasons;

One: Only five more minutes left in the car with Satan.
Two: THE FAIR!

I tell you something, those five minutes seemed to drag, it felt more like half an hour, but alas, we finally reached our destination. As soon as Matt had parked the car in the parking lot (convenient, right?) I jumped out of the car like it was on fire, I couldn’t help but bounce up and down on my heels with excitement.

“Fucking hell calm down!” I heard a voice that I recongised as Satan’s Adam’s as he got out of the car himself.

“Shut the fuck up, you can’t ruin my day now!” I grinned as I took in the view in front of me.

There stood two massive gates with a hanging banner that read “Welcome to the Long Island Fair!” and beyond them through the gates my eyes couldn’t believe what they were seeing, there were loads and I mean loads of different games such as “hook the duck” basketball, bottle games, not forgetting the rides! As I looked up I could see the top of a rollercoaster hidden in the trees which automatically made me smile considering I loved rollercoaster’s, and, best of all, BUMPERCARS! I really couldn’t contain my excitement.

“Excited, huh?” Matt chuckled from beside me, I was so caught up in admiring the fair I had no idea he was there.

“Excited doesn’t even cover it, dear cousin of mine!” I grinned as I once again looked at the fair in amazement.

I snapped out of my daydream as I heard the sound of a car parking behind us. I turned around to be met with the sight of Fred in the drivers seat, Mark in shotgun and Eddie in the back. I walked over to the car and poked my head in Fred’s open window.

“COME ON! YOU HAVE TO HURRY UP! WE HAVE TO GO IN!” I grinned.

“Okay okay, come on guys lets go, I think Taylor will kill us if we don’t get a move on” Fred chuckled as I pulled my head out of the window and took a step back so that he could get out of the car.

“Whoa, this looks amazing!” Fred exclaimed as he looked at the fair.

Mark and Eddie followed his lead and got out of the car too.

“I know! So, LET’S GO!” I yelled as I pulled Fred’s arm dragging him along.

“Hold on, one second, Taylor!” Matt chuckled.

The next person who stopped me from entering the highly awesome looking fair was going to get a slap.

“COME ONNNNN!” I whined as I released Fred’s arm.

“All I’m going to say is everyone meet back up out here at six alright?” Matt said.

Nearly six hours in this fair?!score! I thought.

“Okay got it, see you in six hours BYE!” I exclaimed as I skipped towards the gates.

I held my breath as I pulled the left gate open and walked inside.

Out of all the fairs I’ve considered “amazing” back in England they were definitely over-ruled by this one, definitely. I didn’t have a clue where to check out first, if only you could do more than a ride or game at once! But alas I decided to check out my favourite thing of all, THE BUMPER CARS!
I made my way through the crowds of people, excitement evident in their voices as they spoke to one another, trust me, I was just as excited. I made my way towards the bumper cars, a grin spreading across my face as I got nearer and nearer and could see them in plain view. The line for a game wasn’t that big, but I decided just to watch for the first time and leaned both my arms against the bar that circled the bumper car area. Once the previous teenagers had vacated their bumper cars, A tall guy, who I’m guessing was one of the people in charge, opened the gate and let the next load of people in as I stood and watched.

“You coming in on this round?” He shouted over to me.

“Not this one, next one, definitely!” I smiled as he chuckled back and closed the gate.

Even though I was only watching this round, I was thoroughly enjoying myself because it was a really happy and excited atmosphere, although I couldn’t help but wonder what everyone else was doing right now, ha-ha.

“You know, I could and would totally kick your ass on these?” A voice said from the left side of me, startling me a little considering I was un-aware someone was stood next to me.

I turned my head to the left to be met with Adam Lazzara, a smirk playing across his lips as he mimicked my actions and rested both his arms against the bar, too.

“Who are you kidding, Lazzara? You know I’d kick your ass regardless of if it involved bumper cars or not” I scoffed as I rolled my eyes.

“Sure you would Rubano, sure you would” He said rolled his eyes.

“If you’re so sure, put your money where your mouth is” I smirked.

“I bet you five bucks I’ll kick your ass”

“You might aswell just hand it over now, because I know for a fact I’ll knock you down” I taunted.

“Oh yeah? We’ll see about that”

“You’re on” I smirked.

I was going to win this.
