Sequel: Carpe Diem

Sink Into Me

Fifty Six.

I walked upstairs as fast as I could, not wanting to hear their lovey-dovey shit anymore, I still had no idea who that girl was at the time, though. I pushed my door open and stepped in, closing it behind me. Hayden was led on the floor with her eyes closed, I guess the hang-over was starting to have an effect on her finally, ha.

“Adam’s new girlfriend’s downstairs” I told her.

“His WHAT?!” She screamed as she sat up.

It’s not nice when people shout when you have a hangover, this was one of those times.

“Ow, Hayden!” I exclaimed as I rubbed my head.

“Sorry, but, seriously?! Since when has he had a girlfriend?!” She questioned as she stood up.

I shrugged. “I’ve never seen her before, well, I don’t recognise her anyway”

Hayden just started pacing around the room muttering to herself, it was quite a scary sight.

“She looks like an oompa loompa” I laughed.

“Yeah I bet she does, come on, lets go out, I don’t want to be here right now, he‘s such an ass” She said as she grabbed her hoodie off of my bed.

“I couldn’t agree more” I winked as we linked arms and proceeded down the stairs.

As we got near the bottom I couldn’t help but feel a little sick, my emotions were all over the place, and it got even worse when I heard “Cindy” speak in that pathetic little voice of hers.

“Oh Adam, I’m so glad that you walked over to me last night, we definitely have a connection” She squeaked.

So that’s who she was, that blonde girl at the bar in L.A. Man, I wish she’d stayed there.

As we walked down the last step we were met with the sight of Adam and “Cindy” making out against the wall of the kitchen.

“Oh fuck I think I’m going to be sick” I exclaimed.

“That is disgusting, just stop now” Hayden spat.

“And who’s going to stop us?” Adam shouted as he broke away from her for a minute.

“Oh well I’ll quite happily do it” Hayden said as she walked towards them, pulling me with her.

“Hayden don’t worry about it, they’re not even worth it” I said as I glared at Adam and then at “Cindy”.

“Oh, I’m sure I’m worth more than you, honey” She smirked.

That really pissed me off.

“You better shut up before my fist connects with your face, Barbie!” I warned as I stopped dead in front of her. Luckily we were about the same height so I wouldn’t have had to aim high to punch her in her orange face.

“Taylor, you’re all talk, so just back down whilst you still have your dignity” Adam smirked as he put an arm over Cindy’s shoulder.

“Stay out of this, you prick! This doesn’t concern you!” Hayden screamed.

“It does when you’re insulting my girlfriend” He spat.

“Eww fucking hell, you have such bad taste in girls” I said, looking her up and down as she did the same.

“Well she’s better than you!” Adam retorted.

Smack.

Hayden had hit Adam square in the face. I had to give it to her, it was a great hit.

“You’re such a dick!” Hayden said as she watched Adam clutch his cheek in pain.

“You did not just hit him, you bitch!” Cindy said as she pushed me out of the way roughly and stepped in front of Hayden.

“You lay a finger on her and I swear to god I will put you down hard” I warned as I stood in front of Hayden.

“Yeah, and what are you going to do about it? You’re nothing” She laughed.

Oh I’m so glad she said that.

My fist collided hard with her jaw, and man, it felt good. She screamed as she ran back to Adam, holding her jaw dramatically.

“If you know what’s good for you, you won’t step foot in this house again” I spat as I shot them both one last dirty look before turning around and walking towards to door, pulling Hayden with me.

I pulled open the door roughly and stepped outside, only to be met with Matt, Eddie, Lidia, Mark, and Fred walking up the first few steps.

“I wouldn’t go in there if I were you” Hayden warned.

“Why, what’s happened?” Lidia questioned.

“Adam has a new Barbie of a girlfriend, and I’m assuming he’s in there hugging her whilst she cries” I shrugged.

“Oh great, another one. But why cry?” Fred asked sceptically.

“Because I punched her in the jaw, that bitch needed to be taught a lesson” I said.

“Right on!” Hayden cheered as she stuck her hand up for a high-five, which I accepted.

“Why did you punch her in the face?!” Matt shouted.

“Because she said that I was nothing, what else was I meant to do?” I shouted back.

“She said WHAT?! Okay she’s not welcome in our house” Lidia yelled.

“I agree, I’m sorry for shouting” Matt apologised.

“It’s fine, now would you please go and kick her out whilst Hayden and I go to Starbucks? Please and thank you” I laughed as we walked down the rest of the steps and onto the sidewalk.

“Don’t worry, I’ll sort it out. Be back soon!” Matt said.

“Yes dad” I laughed as he flipped me off in response.

I could never be mad at Matt, he was pretty much the best person in my life.

Luckily from Matt and Lidia’s house it was only a ten minute walk to Starbucks, making it so much easier to fuel my addiction every day that I’d spent so far here, and considering I was lazy it made it even better.
We pushed the door open and stepped inside as it closed behind us quietly. I had so many thoughts going through my head, I couldn’t believe how things had just gone back to how they had previously been in a heartbeat, not that I’d believed he’d changed, but it still didn’t make it any easier to accept.

“Taylor?” Hayden said, pulling me out of my thoughts.

“Huh what?” I asked.

“What do you want to drink? I’ll get it, you go and sit down”

I didn’t know what I’d do without Hayden, she was amazing beyond words.

“A Strawberry and Crème Frappachino please oh lovely one” I grinned.

“Yeah yeah, go and sit down” She laughed as she pushed me gently.

I saluted her and went to find us a seat, and I think god was on our side that day as the really comfy booth that I had discovered at the back of Starbucks was empty. Score.
I sat down on one side and rested my head in my hands, I couldn’t help but let all of the thoughts I’d been previously having creep their way back into my head again. I mean, this was like yet another side to Adam, I thought he could be a dick before but this had just taken it to a whole new level. It was so pathetic, I couldn’t believe how low he could stoop, and I tried to hard to not let myself be just as bad as him, but he just drove me crazy.

“Taylor?” Hayden asked as she sat down opposite me. I really needed to stop zoning out like that.

“Yeah? Sorry” I chuckled.

“You need to stop doing that, you scare me” She laughed as she pushed my drink and a straw over to me.

“So what do you think of Adam’s new girlfriend?” I joked.

“Oompa Loompa” She smirked.

“It’s never felt so good to hit someone, I have absolutely no problem doing it again” I grinned.

“And I have absolutely no problem in letting you, in fact, I’ll just join in” She shrugged.

I couldn’t help but laugh.

With friends like these, who needed enemies? Well, the only enemies I had didn’t bother me in the slightest one was a prick and one was a Barbie. Perfect.
