When Goodbye Means Hello

Cliches?

The dress was beautiful. The length was just above my knees and was white with a little bit of a ruffle at the bottom. Alice matched it with a pair of red stilettos, a light yellow cardigan, black tights, and a black and cream purse. I loved it.

"So, what are you planning tonight?" I questioned since I had to get very dressed up for a party with friends.

"Nothing much." Alice said with a huge smile letting me know she was lying.

"Do you know what is going on?" I asked looking up at a grinning Jake.

"Nope, not a clue."

"You are such a liar. You knew about this the whole time, didn't you?" I asked in disbelief. Jacob can never keep a secret from me.

"Yes. But I was told not to tell. And you didn't bring up your birthday so I didn't say anything." I jokingly glared at both of them.

"But really, what are we doing tonight? And why do I have to dress up? I'd rather wear my jeans and a band tee."

"We know and that's why I picked your outfit out for you. And you'll find out what we are doing? Don't ruin a good surprise." Alice said the last part pretty much to both of us, "Now I want you to go try it on."

So I did as I was told and went it to our bathroom and tried on the outfit. Not to sound cocky or anything but when I looked into the full size mirror I couldn't help but notice how Hort I looked. The way the dress fit my body perfectly. It just looked great. I walked out of the bathroom to see a smiling Alice and a shocked Jacob.

"What's wrong with your face?" I asked Jacob.

"This is a really big cliche line for when a girl walks out in an outfit, but you look amazing." I couldn't help but smile at the compliment and the fact that he really did just use the biggest cliche out there.
