Returning to You

Jessica’s POV

I stared at Gena in shock
“but why?” I asked and Gena finished cackling to glare at me
“you are responsible for everything going wrong!” I frowned
“what?” Gena rolled her eyes
“it’s your fault that Zacky broke up with me and it’s your fault that Brian broke up with Michelle” I shook my head
“I had nothing to do with Zacky or Brian doing those things” Gena huffed
“like hell, it all went wrong when you came into our lives!” I glared at her
“I didn’t break up you and Zacky; you did that by cheating on him!” Gena shrugged
“but he wouldn’t have found out! He wouldn’t have even been suspicious until you came into the picture, we were all FINE!” she screamed and I flinched slightly as the decibel hurt my head.

She seemed to take a moment to calm herself before she smiled down at me again. I couldn’t stand the look
“if you blame me, why try and smother Braden?” I asked, Gena looked at me disgusted
“why should you be happy with a child when mine died, thanks to you!” I frowned wondering how in the hell I killed her child
“how did the baby die?” Gena glared at me and spat
“I miscarried due to the stress of what you put me through!” I frowned still wondering what the hell she was going on about though I did feel a twinge of sympathy, I had a child and I had no idea what losing one was like, but then the memory of her stood over Braden’s cot came back and all sympathy fled.

I regarded Gena a moment before I asked
“where is Michelle? Why isn’t she a part of this” Gena growled at me
“Michelle hung herself” my mouth dropped open in shock
“what?” Gena nodded and anger seemed to fill her, she stepped forwards and slapped me right around the face making my brain rattle in my skull a bit more and my vision went dark a moment before returning as Gena spat
“the hospital let Michelle out as she was better and she went to go and see Brian thinking to get him back, she came to the front of your house and heard you in the yard, she walked to the fence and saw you guys happy and having fun with your child and she broke down, she was so depressed she went home and hung herself” I frowned
“how do you know this?” Gena glared at me
“she rang me in tears and hysterics before she did it, I heard the snap of her neck over the phone as she let herself drop” I gasped thinking about it, what the hell had Michelle been thinking?! “I rushed there as soon as I could to see if I could do anything but there was nothing to be done” she seemed to grow sad for a moment as she stared at the floor.

When she lifted her gaze though her eyes were full of hate again and she smirked
“I’ll be back later” she then came and booted me in the stomach making me heave before she turned and exited the room leaving me to myself again in the empty room.
