2 - Lilah's POV
Lunch with mom should be another one of her ‘Gushes’ as we like to call them.
Mom always brings friends who rave over how pretty we are. It’s annoying.
I’m a plain girl. The only person who can call me beautiful is Ryan Seacrest! My mom has been working with him for years and he actually is pretty cool.
We both received text on our phones in this bloody traffic.
‘Hey Chickens, Guest coming to lunch @ 1:30. – Love Mommy xo’
Its 12:30.
“What time did she tell you she wanted to have lunch?” I asked
“Earlier she told me we were going out to lunch.” Korrine shrugged as we sat back on the black leather seats.
“Take your time.” Corrine said to the driver “We’re in no rush.” I muttered.

When we got there through this brutal New York traffic it was 1:45.
The place we go to is called ‘La nourriture de coeur’
Meaning Food of Heart. My mom made us take it by our private tutor.
Korrine had friends cause of the sports she played. I don’t have many friends because we were home schooled. Only friends I have were from swimming. But my only true friend…

We walked in and the host brought us to where our mother and HOLY SHIT CATHERINE HARDWICKE!?
“Hello Kori and Li.” My mom said giving us kisses on the cheek as we all sat.
“I was just telling your mom how spectacular your auditions were.” Catherine said

“I never knew my Lilah could act, Korrine is the one with the talent.” My mom said
Gee mom thanks for making me feel good about myself.
Korrine and I stole glances and I looked at my phone under the table.
I got a text from Korrine.
Kori- Mom is so uhh
Me- Why is Catherine here?!
Kori- Mom didn’t tell u she met her at some award show a few years backand they are like friends?
Me- NO!
Kori- LOL – Kellan makes me jizz

Kori was about to text back but then mom snapped us out of our convo.
“Girls, Catherine would like to tell you something.” She smiled fakely
“Okay, When you left there was no doubt in my mind about this.” She said slipping us a paper. We leaned in and read

I cant believe Catherine Hardwicke just told us we got the parts!
Korrine squeezed my hand hard under the table but kept composure to her face.
“Will we need a lawyer present tomorrow?” I asked
“If you would like.” She said
I looked at Korrine and at the same time we said “We’ll be there.”
My mom was texting with her long French manicured fingers on her I Phone. I bet she is happy we will be gone for awhile
She never felt like a mother. Just someone who gave me an entrance in the world
