Dead in the Water

Nice To Know You

(An Hour Earlier)
(Amanda’s POV)
“I am so glad that we came here. L.A. is so cool and weird at the same time.” Erelin said as we walked into a club.

“Yeah, but remember I had a dream. Elissa is in this city somewhere. Did you forget that we are to look for her?” I replied rolling my eyes.

“This is all so weird. First, your sister is turned into a vampire, then, you become a slayer, and I learn I am next in line if another slayer dies. Yikes, I mean, what if, wait forget I said that.” Erelin said shaking her head.

“It’s ok.” I said laughing at Erelin. “I have accepted it. It is not something I chose on my own, but yeah. Micah has trained me well, and he trained you how to fight. So, I know you have my back, right?” I said walking up to the bar to get a drink and scope for vampires.

“How did he know I was a slayer in waiting?” She asked. “I still do not get that because you have signs like healing fast, and an alert system that tells you where vampires are.” She added.

“I didn’t before. I was just like you. Micah knows because, vampires are alerted to it. Right now, vampires are thinking somewhere that there are two slayers in this crowd when there is only one. So it is keeping things in check in here right now.” I said taking a sip of my cherry coke I bought at the bar.

“How many are in here out of all these people?” Erelin asked looking around.

“Right now, there are two good vampires and twenty bad ones.” I said not fazed.

“Two? Shouldn’t we meet them?” She asked as I looked around.

“One of them is staring at us from the other end of the room.” I said pointing him out to Erelin.

“The one wearing the derby hat?” Erelin asked.

“Yes. There is something off about him though I cannot place right now. Stay away from him Erelin, I mean it. I think he is trouble.” I said looking at what he was wearing.

“But he is so handsome dressed like that.” She said.

“Look, just promise me you will stay away from him. He may be good but I also have a bad vibe about him.” I said.

“Ok, I promise. I am going to go over to that corner and dance over there.” Erelin said pointing me in the direction she would be. I shall scream bloody murder if I am attacked or anything.” Erelin said laughing as she walked away to go dancing.

I was going to do some scouting and check out the vampires who were good in this club. They must be here for the same thing, well one of the things I was here for and that was to kill vampires. I looked over to where our mystery vampire was and he was gone. Now where could he have gone?

About the time, I had taken about three steps I felt two hands grab my arms and start to pull me out of the club. What was this? Well, I found the other good vampire.

“Let me go!” I yelled.

“Elissa where have you been? We have been waiting for you. You are late.” The good vampire snapped.

“I don’t know what you are talking about.” I replied trying to break free as I was pulled outside. Did he just call me Elissa? He must know my sister.

“Wow, is she this difficult for you each time you meet?” The non-vampire said.

“No. Seriously, what is up with you?” The vampire asked. I have to admit that he was drop dead sexy.

“Let me go before I make you.” I said finally breaking free.

“Pete, what are you doing?” I heard from a familiar voice. It was my sister’s voice. What are the odds that I would finally find my sister in a big city such as this?

“Elissa? But if you are here, then who is this?” The vampire asked looking up at my sister surprised to see her and me in front of him.

“Hello sister, long time no see.” I replied looking right at my twin sister. There was some much needed catching up we needed to do.
