Dead in the Water

(Amanda’s POV)
“Are you ok?” Erelin asked after Sisky swiped his card and the glass door opened.

“I’m fine. I am more worried about getting this blood back where it belongs.” I replied as I stepped in the hospital.

“You are hurt.” Sisky said noticing my arm as I turned behind me one last time to look out the glass door to see no one outside.

“Huh, oh, it will be fine. In two hours it will be a scratch and by the morning, nothing.” I said. “How about you?” You have a nasty cut on your head.” I replied.

“I heal fast too.” Sisky said leading us to a small lab that the blood is stored.

“I think he drank one of the packets. Sorry.” I said.

“It’s ok.” Sisky said taking the cooler out of my hands and placing it on a table.

“It looks like he only drank the one but somehow managed to steal the four bags and manage to keep it cool with all the ice in here.” Sisky replied as he opened the cooler.

“What vampire would want to steal blood from a hospital when they can get it for free and no hassle on the street?” Erelin asked.

“The only thing I can think of is that it was a desperate vampire.” Sisky said putting up the blood packets.

My phone rang and I answered it. “Hello?” I replied.

“Where have you been? I have left like twenty messages on your phone as well as Erelin’s.” Elissa said sounding upset.

“Oh, sorry. Erelin and I turned our phones off because we went today shopping and taking in L.A. I have to say that L.A. is a huge city with all these sub cities.” I replied. “We kept our phones off because we wanted to have some worry free fun. What’s up?” I asked.

“I wanted to know if you and Erelin wanted to go out slaying with me tonight.” Elissa replied.

“Sure. We should be there in an hour. I have some things to take care of at the hospital here.” I said.

“The hospital? Is everything ok?” Elissa asked concerned.

“Well there was an ordeal but I will explain when I see you. Erelin and I are ok but Sisky was ambushed and is ok now.” I said as I glanced over to him.

“You better tell me everything.” Elissa replied.

“I will. See you in a bit. Love you. Bye.” I said hanging up.

“What did Elissa want?” Erelin asked.

“She wants us to go slaying the three of us.” I sighed.

“I’m game.” She replied.

“Amanda, you be careful out there. Beckett is on the loose and I worry about that. Erelin said something as we made it to the door that you felt someone.” Sisky said taking my hand.

“I’m fine. Maybe it was my imagination.” I said trying to get him not to worry but Erelin knew better, giving me a worried glance.

“Maybe you should fix your arm first.” Erelin replied. “I found some bandages in a room for Sisky.” She said leading us.

“Really, it is fine.” I said.

“Let me kiss it for luck.” Sisky said kissing the deep wound on my arm.

“Here is some peroxide for infection. It is going to sting a bit.” Erelin said as I gritted my teeth for a second. “Voila.” She said placing a bandage on my arm and securing it. “It’s just so you don’t injure it again.” Erelin replied.

“Yes, mommy.” I said laughing.

I then turned around and cleaned up Sisky’s wound. Erelin was able to stop the bleeding earlier but the wound needed to be cleaned up. I liked having speed healing.

“We should probably go.” I said turning to leave.

“Wait. Thanks.” Sisky said grabbing my arm and spinning me to him. Then he locked his lips to mine. “You promise me to be careful and call me in the morning.” Sisky said after the long kiss.

“I am always careful.” I said as Erelin and I turned to leave the morgue.
