Dead in the Water

I watched as staff from all over the ER ran into my sister’s room. “No!” I screamed hysterically.

“Let them do their job.” Sisky said holding me back. “It is killing me too, granted in a different way than you but I love her too.” He added as tears ran down my cheek.

I watched as they began CPR on Amanda. When that was not working, they got out the paddles to shock her heart. I could not watch that part. I buried my head in Sisky’s shoulder. I could still hear the monitor going off where she had flat lined.

“Come on. Don’t die on us.” A doctor said.

“Sir, do you want me to call it?” A nurse asked.

“No!” I screamed.

I looked up to see a stranger walk by Amanda’s room. He took a long stare into the room then turned and looked me in the eyes. He was a vampire but was not here to fight. He was not the evil kind. Just then, the monitor started to beep and the doctors cheered. Amanda had started breathing again. My mind soon forgot about the stranger and Sisky and I went out to wait for the others as the doctors stabilized my sister to move her to a room.
