Dead in the Water

It's Going To Be A Long Day

(Amanda's POV)
"Oh, I want to seriously get up out of this bed and hurt something." I said sitting up to pain.

"Amanda..." Martin began to say as he helped me sit up.

"I don't want to hear it. I am stuck in this stupid hospital room and I have Frank over there for at least twelve hours here in this hospital!" I snapped.

"Hey, I don't want to be here any more than you do." Frank snapped back.

Then it dawned on me. Erelin and Nonnie went home and I am sure they are going to tell everyone I am here. This is not good. I may have to be the one to tell Pete and calm him down about Brendon but this is not a good. Brendon shouldn't be here.

"Amanda, your blood pressure is going up." Martin said as him and Brendon both looked over at Frank.

"Hey, I didn't say a word." He said.

"This is all wrong and bad. Pete will probably be coming tonight, Brendon. I can't tell him about you right now. I need to get out of this hospital. I hate hospitals." I said getting myself worked up.

"Shit. You are right. Once everyone knows that you are here, I am a dead man." Brendon replied.

"And you think that Nonnie and I have issues." Frank said.

"Martin, it is ok." I said grabbing his arm before he did something stupid.

"How did you wind up with this vampire anyway? I mean you see your boyfriend Sisky cheating on you with your sister and so you decide to cheat with another vampire?" Frank asked staring at me.

"I don't have to explain myself to you or anyone else. Martin and I go way back. Sisky and I are over. Martin has always been here for me like a knight in shining armor. If you know what is best for you, I would worry about Gerard." I said.

"He already got to you." Frank said pushing my buttons.

"You are seriously getting on my nerves right now." I said. "If I wasn't doped up on meds and not in pain, I'd seriously kick your ass right now." I replied.

"The feeling is mutual." He said as I gripped Martin's arm tighter.

"Look, guys, we all just need to chill. We are all stuck here together for a very long day." Brendon said coming between Martin and Frank who were flashing their fangs at each other.

"You got that right." I sighed.

"You should be out of here in no time though, right?" Brendon asked changing the subject. "I mean you should be healed up by tonight." He added.

"Brendon, it is a little more complicated then that." I said.

"What, you have a bigger wound then normal?" He asked.

"Something like that." I sighed not knowing how to tell him. I really did not want anyone to know.

Frank walked over and looked at me. I gave him weird look. Then he walked over to the other bed in the room and sat on it.

"Brendon, now is not the time." Martin said sitting on the end of my bed.

"I don't understand. You are a slayer and they bounce back. That is what slayers do." Brendon kept on.

"She's dying moron." Frank said.

"What?" Brendon asked confused.

"Don't you see how pale she is? Her wounds are taking longer to heal and Gerard was easily able to get to her. I remember now all the fainting spells you had and blamed it on not eating that day or from you continously being pale." Frank said. "There can only be one slayer and you made Erelin it, the day you died by Beckett. When the doctors brought you back, your body is stuck in a limbo of sorts of what it wants to do and now you are slowly dying because of it." Frank explained.

"Does Erelin know?" Brendon asked.

"No and you mustn't tell anyone." I said.

"She doesn't want anyone to know." Martin replied.

"If you tell everyone they will just feel sorry for me and bad. I can't handle that and I don't want Erelin to blame herself. Frank, you cannot tell Nonnie either." I said looking over at him.

"Frank?" I said his name.

"I can't promise anything but I will try not to let her know." He said. I couldn't tell if he was lying to me or not.

"Amanda, I think you should rest." Martin said always with the the sleeping.

"I am hungry not sleepy." I said fighting him.

"You can eat when you wake. I promise." He said holding my hand. "You have had too much excitement for one day." He added.

"Marry me." I blurted out trying to fight sleep.

"Ok." He laughed knowing I was fighting him.

"Ok, you said you will marry me, I am keeping you to it." I said losing to sleep.

"How do you keep her so calm?" I heard Frank say. "I don't use force when I am wanting her to do something for her own good as I saw you do with Nonnie." Martin explained.

"What else do you know how to do?" Frank asked as I fell into sleep.
