That girl... Alice...
She almost gave me away.
I look at my window and see my car being driven by Nathaniel.
I raise my hand and wave.
Nathaniel catches a glimpse of me and nods.
He turns to the driveway.
I walk out of my room in a hurry and glance at my left.
Good.
She's inside her room.
I silently go downstairs then open the front door.
"Seth."
"Nathaniel. Did you bring my stuff?"
"Yes, I did. What are you wearing, Seth? It's... horrible."
"I know. That's why I need to change. Fast."
"I see. Let me get your clothes."
Nathaniel reaches inside the car and holds out my clothes.
I snatch them from his hands and smother them on my face.
"Oh God. I miss my scent."
"Here you go, Seth. Oh, and your belongings. Where shall I put them?"
"Ah, right. Bring them upstairs."
I was about to lead Nathaniel inside the house when I stop.
I look up at Alice's window.
Curtains closed.
I take a deep breath and tell Nathaniel to follow me closely behind into the house.
He nods in reply then carries my luggage.
We quietly run up the stairs and enter my room.
Nathaniel places my things gently on the floor then asks me a question.
"Whose house is this, Seth?"
"Some random house. I have to stay here for the meantime."
"Why? You do know you have to go back to work, right?"
"No. Not yet."
"If you say so."
"I have to tell you something."
"Yes, sir."
"When you go back to the office, do not tell Mr. X that I am here."
"Yes, sir."
"I am disguising as Alice's long lost cousin."
"May I know who's Alice, sir?"
"Didn't you research about her?"
"Oh, right. Pardon me, Sir Seth."
"Tell me all the details as soon as I finish what I'm saying."
"Yes, sir."
"As what I was saying earlier, I have to be kept secret to the world for now. Understand?"
"Yes, sir. Understood."
"Good. I trust you, Van Allen. This will only be between me and you. Including Alice's parents."
"Got it, Sir Seth. Would you want to hear Alice's information now?"
I look back at the door then face Van Allen.
"Wait a second."
I head to the door and lock it.
I turn around then plop down beside him.
"Shoot."
