Temporary Home

Chapter 41

I was sitting on HIM's bus as we drove to the next venue. I was just sitting on the couch, staring off into space. So much was running through my mind. The one that kept coming back around was 'Why was Dad so against me talking to Alex?'.

"Kelsi, we're here, Love," Ville said softly. I looked up at him, snapping out of my thoughts.

"You want to go torture some rock stars with me?" Bam smiled, sitting next to me.

"Bam," Ville said warningly.

"What? I'm not going to hurt them! Just have a little fun... I need something to entertain me! So, Kels? What do you say?"

I just shook my head and got up to walk out. I went back to the bus when I knew no one was there and grabbed my acoustic. I went inside the venue to find an empty warm up room. I learned from Jimmy and Gerard to just let my emotions out through my music. And from the dream I had last night... Well, let's just say I had a lot of emotion to let out.

I sat down at the piano bench and just started playing.

Ooh, no
Yeah, yeah

She's got green eyes and she's 5'5"
Long brown hair all down her back
Cadillac truck
So the hell what
What's so special about that
She used to model, she's done some acting
So she weighs a buck 'o 5
And I guess that she's alright if perfection is what you like

Ooh, ooh, and I'm not jealous, no I'm not
Ooh, ooh, I just want everything she's got
Ooh, ooh, you look at her so amazed
I remember way back when you used to look at me that way

Tell me what makes her so much better than me (so much better than me)
What makes her just everything I can never be
What makes her your every dream and fantasy
Because I can remember when it was me

And now you don't feel the same
I remember you would shiver every time I said your name
You said nothing felt as good as when you gaze into my eyes
Now you don't care I'm alive
How did we let the fire die

Ooh, ooh, and I'm not jealous, no I'm not
Ooh, ooh, I just want everything she's got
Ooh, ooh, you look at her so amazed
I remember way back when you used to look at me that way

What makes her so much better than me (so much better than me)
What makes her just everything I can never be
What makes her your every dream and fantasy
Because I can remember when it was me

That made you smile (me)
That made you laugh (me)
Me that made you happier than you have ever been, oh me
That was your world (me)
Your perfect girl
Nothing about me has changed
That's why I'm here wondering

What makes her so much better than me (what makes her so much better than me)
What makes her just everything I can never be
What makes her your every dream and fantasy
Because I can remember when it was me

What makes her so much better than me (what makes her so much better than me)
What makes her just everything I can never be
What makes her your every dream and fantasy
Because I can remember when it was me

When it was me
When it was me
When it was me

"That was beautiful. A little sad, but beautiful." I turned to see Amy, from Evanescence.

"Did you write that?" She asked, walking over and sitting next to me. I just nodded. "Do you have anymore?" I nodded and walked over to my bag. I pulled out the CD I had in it and put it in the CD player. I had different CD's with my accompanist parts. Most of them were strings, or piano.

Once it was in, I started playing along on the piano.

Standing at the back door
She tried to make it fast
One tear hit the hard wood
It fell like broken glass
She said sometimes love slips away
And you just can't get it back
Let's face it

For one split second
She almost turned around
But that would be like pouring rain drops
Back into a cloud
So she took another step and said
I see the way out and I'm gonna' take it

I don't wanna' spend my life jaded
Waiting to wake up one day and find
That I've let all these years go by
Wasted

Another glass of whiskey but it still don't kill the pain
So he stumbles to the sink and pours it down the drain
He says it's time to be a man and stop living for yesterday
Gotta face it.

Cause' I don't wanna' spend my life jaded
Waiting to wake up one day and find
That I've let all these years go by
Wasted

Oh I don't wanna' keep on wishing, missing
The still of the morning, the color of the night
I ain't spending no more time
Wasted

She kept drivin' along
Till the moon and the sun were floating side-by-side
He looked in the mirror and his eyes were clear
For the first time in a while

Hey, yeah,
Oh, I don't wanna' spend my life jaded
Waiting to wake up one day and find
That I've let all these years go by
Wasted

Oh I don't wanna' keep on wishing, missing
The still of the morning, the color of the night
I ain't spending no more time
Wasted

Oh, I don't wanna' spend my life jaded
Waiting to wake up one day and find
That I've let all these years go by
Wasted

Yeah, yeah
Oh I don't wanna' keep on wishing, missing
The still of the morning, the color of the night
I ain't spending no more time
Wasted

Yes, I might have written these after Aaron... Well, after that whole episode. But they still held a lot of emotion and meaning. I did feel a little bit better after singing them.

"You have a beautiful voice. I'm sure you didn't take after Brian on that one," she said, laughing softly. I smiled softly, before turning back to the piano.

"Bam's looking for you, by the way. He said something about having a genius plan on how to 'spice up Pete's hair'?" Amy said, looking confused.

Oh Lord... This was not going to be pretty.

I found Bam, still on HIM's bus, laughing to himself. "What're you planning?" I asked, crossing my arms.

"Oh, Kelsi! Nice of you to join me!" He said, smiling. That's when I noticed the box of...

"Hair dye?! What the hell are you thinking, Bam?!"

"Prank War," he said, smiling evilly.

"Oh hell no... No, no, no. I will say it in five different languages if I have to! I'm not helping," I said, shaking my head and backing away.

"Aw! Come on, Kels. Pleeeaaasssseeee!! Pretty please!" He gave me the puppy eyes.

I sighed. "Mother fucker." He smiled, knowing he won.

"You'll thank me later."

"Uh huh..."

"Let's go! We have to do this before he gets in the shower."

Oh please don't let Pete kill us! Well... Bam at least. His ass is too sexy.
