What's the Difference?

Holy shit. I just invited him in. To meet my mom? God, he's going to think I am such a freak. I have been in all his classes and have been glancing at him all day. I even sat at him at lunch. And hugged him no less! Wow. He's definitely not going to like me if I keep this up!

"Mom! You home?" I asked loudly while closing the front door after letting Kelly in.

"Yes, I'm in the kitchen sweetheart!" My God?! Is this woman trying to embarrass the hell outta me? Wait, she doesn't know he's here. Duh!

"Mom, I brought a friend home for you to meet. Is that okay with you?" I asked nervously with a slight blush.

As I said that she rushed out of the kitchen. Apparently she's excited I brought someone home for her to meet. She almost stopped in her tracks when she saw it was a boy. We were standing quite close. Not that I minded of course. She probably thought I liked him. Not that I could say she was wrong.

She then smiled brightly and said "Well hello there, I'm Amelia. Cayden's mom of course. Are you a friend of Cayden's?"

I just chuckled. "No mom, he's a random cute guy I pulled off the streets, duh he's my friend." Shit. I really need to think before I speak! I blushed furiously and turned away from Kelly. Hoping inwardly that he wouldn't see my blush.

"Yea, I'm a friend of Cayden's. I'm Kelly. I'm your neighbor as well." His arm outstretched and my mom took it smiling.

"Nice to meet you Kelly." Was all she said.

"We're gunna go hand out in my room, call me when dinners ready?"

"Will do. Have fun with your newfound friend."

"I shall." With that I took his hand and led him up the stairs to my room.

After showing him my room with my multiple movie posters and random colors on the wall we sat on my bed. We sat there for a while in awkward silence. Until I had to break the silence.

"Want to listen to some music?"

"Sure. Whatever you want to listen to is fine. I will not object."

"How do you like Every Avenue?"

"Never heard of it?" OhMyPancakes! How had he not heard of them?!

"Really?! Oh wow. There awesome! Just listen!" With that said I reached into my pocket digging out my iPod. I plugged it into my speakers and 'Tell Me I'm a Wreck' started to play. I sang softly along with the lyrics. Knowing every word.

With the last line ending Kelly kissed me. He whispered in my air. "You're anything but a wreck. I was wondering... Do you want to go on a date with me Friday night?"

"I.. um... ugh" I was speechless. From that kiss. His lips. Were amazing. How could I ever compare? Why would he as me out?

"I'm sorry. I should go..." He started to get up. I stopped him. I grabbed his wrist. He looked confused.

"Wait."

"What? Don't you want me to leave?"
