The Life I Never Knew I Had

The Life I Never Knew I Had Chapter 14

Elliott and I ran into the meeting hall.
Everyone looked at us when we walked in.
“Where is she?” I asked excitedly.
“Here I am,” she a voice then a head popped out from behind Damien.
I stared at her shocked. She looks just like me.
She must have saw it too because she looked just as shocked.
“Um, I didn’t know I had a twin,” I chuckled.
“Neither did I,” she said. “Um, I’m Shelby,”
“Jennifer,” I smiled shaking her hand.
“Nice to meet you,”
“Likewise,”
“You must be Elliott,”
“Princess,” Elliott bow slightly as she curtsied.
“Well, I’m glad you girls get along because you will be sharing a room together. Shelby’s room isn’t done yet,” Skye said smiling at us.
“It’s fine with me,” I said.
“It’s fine with me too,”
“Great,” Skye smiled.
“Hey Jen, do you have any clothes that I can change into? This dress is so uncomfortable,”
“I know what you mean, I’ll show you to our room,”
“Thanks,” she smiled.
Shelby and I left the meeting hall and went to my room. On our way there we started talking and in no time we hit it off.
When we got to my room she changed into a pair of jeans and a tank top, which was what I was wearing, but my tank top was red and hers was white.
I showed her around the huge house then afterward we hung out in my room.
There was a knock on my door.
“Come in,” I answered laughing.
“Dinners ready,” Elliott said
“Okay, we’ll be down soon,” I said calming down.
Shelby and I took several deep breaths to try and calm down, but that only caused us to laugh even harder.
“What’s so funny?” Elliott asked.
“It’s a girl thing,” we said together.
“What?” he asked more confused than before, which made us laugh even harder.
Honestly I don’t even know why we were laughing in the first place.
We walked passed him still laughing.
Shelby patted his shoulder and I kissed his cheek.
“Do you remember why we were laughing?” I asked.
“Haven’t a clue,”
We started laughing all over again.
“It’s so much fun hanging out with girls, I forgot what it was like,” I joked.
“Same here,” she giggled as we walked into the dinning room.
Shelby sat next to Ryan and I sat across from him. Elliott sat next to me and kissed me on the lips.
I smiled and turned back to the table.
At dinner Shelby and I talked mostly and the guys joined in.
After dinner we still were at the table, because we had to talk about the ball coming up.
We waited for Sebastian and Lance to come and join us.
The two men came down stairs, bowed then sat down at the table.
“Your highnesses, I have a proposal for the ball date,” Sebastian said looking at the king and queen.
“Yes?” Damien asked.
“In two weeks on a Saturday,”
They nodded there heads.
“Now, princesses, you have two weeks to get ready as well as the princes,”
“I’ll help with the princes and Sebastian will help the princess,” Lance said.
“Sounds good,” Damien said as Skye nodded her head.
“Great, we’ll start tomorrow,”
*****
The next day I woke up bright and early for my daily hike with Lance and Ryan.
After our daily routine of being trained Sebastian had thought me how to dance.
Ryan was my partner like last time.
“Let’s see what you remember from last time,” Sebastian said as he walked in. he started the music and we started dancing, but Ryan didn’t say the steps out loud.
I didn’t do to bad.
Sebastian started the music again and we started to dance again from the beginning. This time Ryan surprised me with adding new moves.
I caught on quickly.
At the end of the song Ryan dipped me.
His face was close to mine and our eyes locked.
His beautiful green eyes, they had no end, I was lost in them.
He brought me back up slowly, still looking into my eyes.
His hands fell to his side. “I think I should go, I’ll see you later,” then he left, leaving me confused.
****
A week has past and everything was starting to come together for the ball. I finally learned the dance, it took about three days for me to learn.
Ryan and I kept our distance, well tried to. We seemed to be at the same place at the same time. Ryan even stopped sitting next to me on the ride to school, he drove the helicopter there and Lance drove me to school.
I didn’t mind, much.
Shelby and I were in our room. I was doing homework and she was looking at dresses.
We had to pick a dress for the ball, I had three in mind.
“Can I ask you a question?” she asked.
“Go ahead,”
“When did Elliott kiss you? I mean how long did he wait to kiss you?”
“Um, about three days,”
“Ugh!”
“What? Ryan hasn’t kissed you yet?”
“Yes! I want to kiss him so bad,”
I laughed. “Then kiss him,”
“No, he has to do it,”
“How about this, take him to the sunroom,”
She have me look.
“Trust me,”
“Yeah okay,”
“Yay, you get ready and I’ll get him,”
“Fine,”
I hushed out of the room.
“Hey Shelby,” Ryan said.
“I’m not Shelby,” I said turning around to see a shirtless Ryan.
I blinked and tried to look at his face. “Shelby wants you to meet her in the sunroom,”
“Okay, why?”
“Just because,”
He nodded his head and walked into his room.
“Okay, Shelby, the plan is set,” I said once I walked into my room.
“Great,” she said walking out of my bathroom.
“Looking good,”
“Thanks,” she said biting her lip.
“Go,” I said pushing her out the room.

Ryan’s Point Of View

I made my way to the sunroom to meet Shelby.
I walked in and saw her looking out the window.
“Hey,”
She turned around and I took a deep breath.
She was wearing, I think it’s called a sundress, anyway it was yellow and hugged her body perfectly.
She smiled and for a moment I saw Jennifer.
I blinked and Shelby was there again.
“You look…great,” I smiled.
“Thanks,” she blushed a little.
I took her hand and lead her to the balcony. She smiled and followed.
The wind blew in our faces as we looked out at the view.
“It’s so beautiful, I love it,”
“It is beautiful and so are you,”
She looked at me and smiled. I smiled back and took her hand pulling her toward me.
Took my other hand as I leaded in.
She meet me half way and finally our lips touched.
They moved as one.
My hands went to her waist and she pulled me closer by wrapping her hands around my neck.
I felt her smile.
We pulled way, smiling.
“Um, I think dinner’s ready,” I said interlocking our fingers.
“Okay,”
We left the sunroom and headed down stairs.
