The Life I Never Knew I Had

The Life I Never Knew I Had Chapter 18

I snuck out of my bed and headed down stairs to the kitchen.
I made myself a glass of milk and stole a cookie from the cookie jar.
Whenever I needed think I would do this.
I was dreading coming home today.
I didn’t want to plan my wedding with Elliott. Sure it would be fun, but I don’t want to marry him, anymore.
I stole another cookie and I heard someone walk into the kitchen.
“Jennifer?” asked a tired voice.
“Ryan?” I asked.
“Yeah, what are you doing up?”
“What are you doing up?”
“I heard you come down here. What’s up?” he asked joining me.
“I couldn’t sleep,”
“Why?”
“What if I told you that I didn’t want to marry your brother,” I whispered.
“I would say don’t. I can talk to my dad,”
“No, don’t,”
“Jennifer,”
“Ryan,” I said cutting him off. “We’re not suppose to be together,”
“Then why is everything inside me tell me we should,”
I sighed and grabbed another cookie.
“You can’t avoid this,” he whispered.
“Watch me,”
Ryan took my hand and kissed it.
“Stop doing that,”
“Doing what?”
“Being nice and cute,”
He chuckled. “You mean being me,”
“Shut up,”
“Princess,” he gasped pretending to be shocked.
We laughed.
“So, how’s school?” Ryan asked, trying to make small talk.
“Good, my final year,” I grinned.
“Good,”
“Well,” I said. “The milk did it’s job. I’m sleepy again,”
Ryan chuckled. “I’ll walk you back to your room,”
“Thanks,”
Ryan took my hand and intertwined our fingers.
I smiled and moved closer to him and he smiled.
We reached my room and I gave Ryan a hug.
“Good night,”
“Night,”
Our lips collided and sparks flew. The kiss moved more intense, as if this was going to be our last. All of our love was being forced into one kiss.
Ryan picked me up and took me to his room.
*****
I was awaken my a gentle shaking.
I slowly opened my eyes and looked up at Ryan.
“Hi,” I smiled.
“Hey,” he said brushing my hair out of my eyes. “Elliott will be waking up soon,”
“Oh,” I mumbled. I got out of Ryan’s warm bed and headed toward the door. “I’ll see you,”
“Yeah,” he said with a painful smile on his face.
I walked out the door and tip toed to my room.
I snuck in and cuddled next to Elliott.
My eyes slowly closed and sleep took over.
********
I woke up an hour later and got ready for school.
Ryan and Lance took my to the hospital.
I spent most of my time with Doctor Martin.
We gave birth to ten babies today and did surgery on a man with a tumor.
Today was a good day.
After school I hung out with the guys then Ryan and Lance took me home for training.
They went a little easier on me today. Instead of practicing my fighting skills we went over the basic military codes and weapons.
They take war here pretty seriously.
I still needed answers about my birth place and my family.
Antonio told me something but I wanted to know more.
Damien was playing something. I needed to know what.
I took a long shower and did my homework.
I didn’t have a lot.
An hour later I was called down to dinner.
Damien said that right after dinner the wedding planning would start.
And it did.
Sebastian took Elliott and I to one of the many studies.
Waiting for us was a wedding planner.
“Hello, your highnesses, I’m Tessa West and your wedding planner. Now, Princess since this is your wedding I want everything to be your way. So, tell me, everything you want,”
“Wow, um…” I said kind of shocked.
She was very straightforward and I haven’t even thought about the wedding.
“I’m not sure yet, honestly,”
“And that’s okay,” Sebastian said.
“It sure is, I’ll help guild you along,”
In the two quick hours, we deiced on the colors, the flowers, where in the castle the wedding was going to take place and most of the gust list.
At the end of the day, Elliott and I escaped to my room to have some cuddling time.

Ryan’s Point Of View

I was with Shelby, lying on her bed and talking.
“Oh, um, my parents want to meet with you tomorrow,”
“Tomorrow?” I asked surprised.
“Yeah,”
“Should be fun,”
“Fun is not the right word,”
“How bad could it be?”
“Bad,” she muttered.
I gave her a quick kiss. “Don’t worry about,” I smiled.
She smiled back and turned off the light.
“Good night,”
“You too princess,”
As I laid awake I thought about Jennifer. Last night we made it clear. We would stop sneaking around and stay faithful to our fiancés.
I just don’t know how long I can keep that going.

Jennifer’s Point Of View

I thought about Ryan as I slowly drifted off to sleep.
I could stay away from him forever.
But I have to.
