V: You know, you can’t be my assistant if you’re not doing anything, Jack.

J: [picks up camera] Babe, please. Let me concentrate. I’m helping.

V: I just want to get some shots of all of us before everyone leaves, you know, maybe put something together for fun?

J: [silent, adjusts camera]

V: Jack?

J: Yeah.

V: …you’re trying to film up my skirt, aren’t you?

J: Yea- I mean, no…

[Scuffling, static noise, blank screen]

M: The lease is up in three days. Then Lila and Butcher are going back to Milwaukee before her and Victoria leave for New York.

C: You’ll just have to stay with me, Mike, and William until we can afford our own place.

M: We’ll have to save up for awhile…will they mind?

C: I don’t care if they do or not.

M: [exasperated sigh] Michael…

C: I got that job teaching guitar at the shop a block over. The one I told you about.

M: I knew you would.

C: I know it’s not much, but it’ll help until we start recording in the fall. I have some extra money saved up, too, just in case…

M: We’ll be fine. I can find soundboard work or something.

C: When are Lila and Victoria coming back?

M: Not till tonight.

[squeak of shifting sofa cushions]

C: Wait. What’s this camera doing here?

M: Jack and Victoria must have forgotten it. I’ll turn it off.

[Muffled giggling, fumbling, blank screen]

B: What time do you want to leave for Milwaukee tomorrow?

L: Doesn’t matter. Whenever you want. How long are you going to stay?

B: As long as you are. I can help you pack.

L: I’ll be there for a week. Victoria’s staying with Jack until we all leave. We have to find an apartment as soon as possible.

B: Maybe I’ll come to New York for awhile, before we start recording the album.

L: You sure?

B: I won’t have much else to do.

[Silence]

L: You know how much I’m going to miss you, right?

[Hushed whispering, battery low, blank screen]
