Scream Me a Dream

Chapter 105: Presents and Planning

After Impi’s soccer game, which the girls’ team had won, they’d separated from Rosalind, Jyrki taking the time to accept Rosalind’s apology for being short with him as well as assure Impi he’d see her in the next month.

After saying goodbye to Rosalind as she was headed to her brothers house for an early lunch, Jussi, Jyrki, Soya and Ville had gone back to Soya and Ville’s hotel room to gather to couple’s things, since they were all on the same flight to Helsinki, where Jussi and Jyrki would get a connecting flight to Vaasa, Finland where their gig was that night.

Ville tried hard not to listen to the quiet conversation that Soya was having with Jussi as the drummer followed Soya around the room as she gathered her things, whispering to her. Soya’s reaction to his whispered muttering would either be met with a look of pity, a laugh, or a look of annoyance. To say Ville was curious was definitely an understatement.

The flight to Helsinki wasn’t eventful; Jyrki and Jussi had teased them both, saying that if they had any want to join the mile high club, they’d gladly stand guard at the bathrooms. Soya had rolled her eyes and said she had no interest in joining that particular club, only to have Jussi and Jyrki laugh at her. In his ear though she’d whispered the word ‘yet’ which had nearly caused him to choke on the water he’d been taking a sip of. That door she’d talked about him opening was definitely wide open, and he had no interest in closing it.

They reached the airport in Helsinki at seven that evening, parting ways with Jyrki and Jussi as they rushed to grab their connecting flight to Vaasa. Ville grabbed their luggage, meeting Soya outside as she commandeered a cab. Ville told the driver the address for his parents home, before dropping an arm around Soya and pulling her closer to him.

“Tired?” she asked.

“It’s been quite a week.” He told her with a grin. “Just ready to go home.”

“Do you want me to put in an order for dinner?” Soya asked. “I can make a call right now so it’s ready and delivered by the time we get back to the tower.”

Ville shook his head. “Knowing my mum, dinner’s ready and she’ll make us stay until we’ve had our fill.”

Soya laughed lowly with a nod. “True.”

Ten minutes later the cab stopped in front of his parent’s house, Ville hadn’t even had a chance to get his feet on the concrete below him before the front door flew open and Aida came flying out, nearly tackling him down on the seat with the hug she gave him.

“So I guess you missed us.” Ville laughed, hugging her too him as he got out of the cab.

“So much!” Aida squealed holding onto Ville tightly as the driver opened the trunk. Ville chuckled kissing the top of her head, before letting her down on the ground.

“Go say ‘hi’ to your sister before she gets jealous that you said ‘hi’ to me first.” Ville teased, causing Aida to squeal again and launch herself at Soya.

“Well hello to you too.” Soya laughed, picking her sister up and kissing her forehead as Ville grabbed their bags. “Did you have fun this week?”

“Yes!” Aida said hugging her sisters’ neck, “Mummi took me to the pet store!”

“Oh no.” Soya groaned. “Did she get you anything?”

“No.” Aida sighed. “Did you bring me back anything!?”

“Lots.” Ville laughed, closing the trunk, setting the two bags on the sidewalk before going to the front of the cab to pay the driver.

“It thought you only had one bag.” Aida said with a frown, looking at the two suitcases sitting on the sidewalk.

“Your sister made me buy another one.” Ville teased, paying the cab driver and thanking the man before grabbing their bags. He gestured for Soya to walk in front of him and followed her into the house, dropping the suitcases by the door before closing it.

“How was your trip?” Anita asked coming down the stairs with a smile. “I see you ran into Aida on the way up to the door.”

“The girl ran out so fast she nearly pushed me back into the car.” Ville laughed, kissing his mothers cheek. “And our trip was good.”

“It was wonderful.” Soya said, nudging Ville, before hugging Anita the best she could with her sister still in her arms. “We missed you guys though, especially this one.” She said bouncing Aida on her hip causing her to laugh.

“Trust me when I say the girl missed you as well.” Anita laughed. “Come on, take a seat, dinner’s ready, and your father is on his way now from the shop.”

“Told you she would feed us.” Ville teased, as Soya set her sister down.

“Show me what you got me!” Aida said tugging on Soya’s arm back towards the suitcases.

Soya laughed, pulling her sister away from the bags and towards the dinner table. “We will show you once we get back to the tower, right now you have to eat dinner.”

“But I want to see!” Aida whined.

“You keep whining I’ll tell Ville to hide your presents until I say different.” Soya said watching her sister stop her tugging and walk towards the table with Soya. “I promise, once we get to Ville’s tower we’ll show you what we got you all right?”

“Fine.” Aida sighed, sitting at the table next to Ville, leaving the two to talk while she went to the kitchen.

“Do you need help Anita?” Soya asked.

“I’m fine, Soya, I’m just keeping everything warm until Kari comes home. Tell me about your trip!” Anita said excitedly causing Soya to laugh as she leaned against the counter.

“It was wonderful, I don’t think Ville and I ever had a chance to really tour cities we’ve been to a million times before.”

“Did you play the tourist Soya?” Anita asked teasingly.

“Yes!” Soya laughed. “And I spent money like one too!”

“I saw the extra suitcase!” Anita laughed with her. “Did you get the tourist shirts with the words ‘I heart Berlin’ on it.”

Soya shook her head with a grin. “Nearly bought one for Ville in Barcelona, but he talked me out of it by buying me shoes.”

Anita laughed. “And how many shoes did my son end up buying you?”

“Only two pairs.” Soya laughed, “But I bought myself nine.”

Anita shook her head. “You have an addiction my dear.”

“So I’ve been told.” Soya agreed with a nod. “Luckily your son indulges me.”

“Good thing you’re marrying him then.” Anita teased as she set a kettle on the stove to warm water for tea. “Have you and Ville talked about the wedding?”

“A bit.” Soya said, knowing Anita would be thrilled to find out that she and Ville had somewhat set a date. “Ville’s adamant that he wants to get married in May.”

“Of next year?”

Soya nodded. “And I think May’s a good month.”

Anita grinned at her future daughter in law. “Well, we’re just going to have to start planning!”

Soya smiled back. “I don’t even know where to start.” She admitted. “I looked at a couple of wedding magazines during our trip, but none of them tell you what to do first.”

Anita laughed as she started grabbing plates and bowls. “No they don’t. I think you and Ville should talk about what type of wedding you two want. Do you want small or big? A church wedding-” At Soya’s scrunched up nose Anita laughed. “So church weddings are out, I think once you and Ville figure that out then you can start making a guest list, see how big it’s going to end up being and go from there.”

Soya sighed. “It sounds so overwhelming.”

“It is.” Anita agreed, hearing the front door open the sounds of Ville greeting his father filling the room. “But once you both sit down and start talking about it, it will all fall into place, you’ll see.”

Soya watched as Anita went out to the living room to greet her husband, turning off the stove as the kettle began to whistle. As she steeped the bags of teas in the mugs filled with hot water, she started thinking of everything she and Ville needed to get done before May, that is, if she even had a week free in May to get married. It looked like even if Ville didn’t follow her to New York in January, she’d have to drag him there because she refused to plan the wedding by herself.

“Now can I see what you got me?!” Aida asked the minute she stepped foot in the tower, Soya still outside taking the key out of the lock.

“Would you like me to wait outside while you ransack the suitcases, which Ville is still getting out of his father’s car?” Soya asked with a raised eyebrow.

“I can wait.” Aida said with a smile as Soya took her keys out of the lock and walked into the tower, looking back to see Ville hug his father who had driven them.

“Go upstairs and get your pajamas on, I’m going to help Ville with the bags all right?”

Aida nodded, running up the stairs, as if the quicker she got changed the quicker she could get her presents. Shaking her head, Soya left the tower going towards Ville and grabbing Aida’s bag, shouldering it, along with Ville’s backpack and her own messenger bag.

“I swear she’s more excited about what we got her, then actually seeing us.”

Ville laughed. “No, she’s more excited about the presents and me then seeing you.”

Soya laughed. “I’m not jealous that she hugged you first Ville.”

“I never said anything about jealously.”

Soya rolled her eyes at Ville’s teasing, as they dragged their bags inside, Ville closing the door behind him, making sure it was locked.

“You better get Aida’s gifts out or she may very well ransack everything to get to what’s hers.” Soya warned, dropping the bags and going to the living room, falling onto the couch.

“Did we put her things in the suitcase with our stuff or the one with your shoes?” Ville asked staring at the suitcases.

Soya laughed, tilting her head back to look at Ville. “I mixed everything.”

Ville grabbed both suitcases, bringing them to the living room as he sat down and unzipped one, as if it were her cue, Aida came bounding down the stairs, nearly vibrating with excitement. She plopped down on the floor looking at Ville with wide eyes.

“What?” Ville asked, looking at her amused.

“Soya said that once we were in the tower I would get my presents.”

Ville shook his head. “I have no idea what you’re talking about; we didn’t get you any presents.”

Soya laughed. “Stop teasing the girl before she kills you Ville.”

Ville laughed, “Fine, we got you presents.” He laid the suitcase on the coffee table, unzipping it the rest of the way, and scrounged around, finding the stuffed flamingo and dolphin he’d gotten Aida at the Zoo.

“I got those for you at the Zoo when I took Impi.”

Aida squealed. “I love them! You got to see Impi!”

Soya nodded. “We did, she misses you, but she and her mom are coming up for Christmas. So you’ll get to see her then.”

Aida grinned. “What else?!”

Ville laughed as Soya scrounged around the suitcase. “We got you some clothes from The Disney Store that I need you to try on tomorrow, if they don’t fit then when Rose comes up I’ll have her return them. And we got you your chocolates.” Soya laughed, showing the bag to Aida before setting them on the table.

“Can I have some?” Aida asked with wide eyes.

“Not tonight.” Ville laughed as he unzipped the other suitcase. “You can have some tomorrow though.”

“Fine.”

“We got you a couple of movies too.” Soya said, handing the girl the DVD’s they’d gotten for her. “I know you said you’d wanted The Princess and the Frog, so we got you that one, and you’ve been begging for the Tinkerbell movie so we got you that one too.”

“You’ve left us nothing to get you for Christmas.” Ville teased as Aida got up off the floor to climb onto his lap.

Aida giggled, “I’m eight Ville, I always want something.”

Ville laughed. “Well then, at least we won’t have to worry about that.”

They showed Aida the rest of the stuffed toys and games they’d gotten her, her exclaiming she loved them with each thing they showed her. Though it was nearing ten in the evening, Ville had given in and put in one of the movies they’d gotten her, settling down to watch the adventures Tinkerbell had with her friends, only for Aida to fall asleep twenty minutes in.

When Ville came down from settling Aida down on the mattress near his bed, he found Soya zipping their bags back up, before falling on the couch next to her.

“Ready for bed?” he asked.

Soya nodded, moving closer to him, snuggling up to his side and wrapping her arm around his waist, feeling his arm drop around her shoulders. “We need to start planning.”

Ville blinked looking down at her. “Planning?”

“This wedding you want in May.” She teased, looking up at him. “We need to start planning it.”

Ville groaned. “I don’t like that you said ‘we’”

Soya pulled away slightly to rest her chin on his shoulder. “I refuse to plan this alone Ville.”

“You would have my mother, and you know, Toni and Vedrana, and Rosalind.”

“How did this all turn into a woman’s job?”

“You said it yourself; I’m in charge of helping with the flowers and place settings.”

“Well now I’m letting you have more responsibility.” Soya laughed. “And that was before you told me you wanted a short engagement.”

Ville nodded, though he was dreading the amount of work he knew went into planning a wedding, he was excited that Soya was letting him do more than just helping with the flowers and settings.

“All right, where do we start?”

“Well I think we should start with telling the rest of our friends before they find out through magazines or invitations, but that’s just me.” She teased.

“We’ll tell them…soon…ish.” Ville said with a teasing grin.

“Fine,” Soya laughed, “I don’t want a big wedding Ville,”

“I don’t either.” Ville agreed.

“Only family and close friends.”

Ville raised an eyebrow thinking about the amount of family and close friends they both had, so being the loving fiancé that he was, he broke it down for her. “All right, so with my family and close friends let’s say 100 on my side and that’s without the overlap of mutual friends.”

“All right.” Soya said with a nod.

“And with your family and your close friends-”

“The only blood family I want there is Aida.” Soya cut off. “Inviting my mother is out of the question.”

“Still, say with your friends at the company and friends from the studio both here and in New York, that’s…what another 100?”

“Well,” Soya hesitated knowing she couldn’t invite one girl from the company without inviting the entire company itself.

“Plus with our mutual friends, that makes an even 250? 300? Plus their plus 1. So double it and it’s nearly 600, and that’s if everyone brings someone, plus there’s the kids of our friends, so we bump it up to at least 650.”

“Oh god.” Soya groaned. “That is not small at all.”

“We could always just do very close friends and family at the wedding and everyone else at the reception, it’s what Bam did.”

“How do we even go about picking people to attend our wedding?” Soya groaned, hiding her face in Ville’s side. “Let’s just elope.”

Ville snorted a laugh, hugging her closer, kissing the top of her head. “My parents and our friends would kill us. We’ll deal with the guest list later, how about an easier questions, do you want to have the wedding here or in New York?”

“Here.” Soya said instantly, not needing to think about it.

“Well that about cuts your half of the guest list in half, I doubt too many people would want to travel from New York to Helsinki.”

Soya jabbed his side at his teasing. “Ville.”

“So we have the where down, so that eases things, we need an actual location right? So tomorrow we can go take a look at some or at least research somewhere that will hold nearly 300 ballet dancers and rock stars plus their spouses and kids.”

“You are not taking any of this seriously.” Soya laughed, looking at his grin.

“Soya it’s nearly eleven o clock at night, and you want to start planning our wedding now?” he laughed.

Soya sighed before groaning. “There’s so much to do.”

“I know,” Ville nodded. “But we have time, we don’t have to figure this out all tonight Soya.” He pulled her closer, turning on the couch so that she lay on her back and he hovered over her, her hands clasping loosely around his neck as she looked at him with those wide grey eyes. “I think if anything we have to start with the small things for the wedding and work our way to the big.”

“What’s considered the small?” she asked as he leaned down and kissed her softly, his lips brushing against hers but never probing further.

“We can start picking colors.” He whispered, skimming his lips down her neck, hating that she’d worn her Ramones shirt that didn’t have any give in the neck so he could pull it down.

“We could do that.” She whispered, her fingers moving down and under his shirt to rub his back.

“You could find your dress while you’re here,” he said against her neck, as Soya’s legs opened, letting his body drop between. “Get the girls together, you like shopping.” His eyes closed when Soya nipped at the lobe of her ear before she pulled away.

“You better stop.” She teased, though her eyes were darkened. “We’re not in a hotel room anymore; we have a sleeping eight year old upstairs.”

Ville pulled back, kissing her lightly again, knowing that with Aida upstairs she could wonder in any moment, and Soya wouldn’t risk it, and frankly he didn’t want to either. Moving off her, he ran a hand through his hair before getting off the couch. Soya sat up on the couch, smiling lightly at him.

“I’m going to run upstairs and take a shower before going to bed.” He told her starting towards the stairs.

Soya nodded, chewing on her bottom lip, before calling him back. “Ville?”

Ville turned and looked over at her. “Hmm?” he watched as she continued biting her lip, resting her arms over the back of the couch her chin on top of them.

“When do you think you and the guys are going to get back together to make a new record?”

Ville blinked, caught off guard by the question. “I’m…not sure.” He said slowly. “Probably once Linde, Mige and Burton get back from their tour. We said we’d talk about what we wanted to do, but nothing set in stone yet.” He shrugged. “Why?”

“So you have a few months free?”

Ville nodded moving closer to the couch. “I do, why?”

“I’d really like it if you came to New York with me when I leave in January.”

Ville smiled, crouching down behind the couch so he was eye to eye with her. “Are you asking me to come because you don’t want to plan the wedding by yourself, or because you want me to go with you?”

“Does it matter?” Soya asked with a raised eyebrow.

“Not really, but I’d like to know.” Ville admitted.

Soya smiled, “A bit of both, mostly I just want you there with me.”

Ville nodded. “What of Aida?”

Soya sighed, “I don’t know yet.” She admitted. “As much as I hate to do it, the closer to January it gets with no sign of my mother, I may have to leave Aida in Sipoo with Niina and Nathan. I can’t uproot her from Finland to take her to the states.”

Ville nodded slowly. “What about the living situation now? Are we going to keep shuffling her from my tower to your flat until we leave?”

Soya shook her head. “I think this week we’re going to go back to my flat, while she’s in school, come here during the weekend, if that’s all right?”

Ville nodded, hating that Soya wasn’t staying with him during the week; he knew that he was always welcome at her flat and he would most likely pack a bag so he could go stay with her for the week, but as selfish as it sounded, he preferred being in his own home. Especially since this was the first time in a long time he’d been able to be home for a long period of time rather than coming and going as it usually was.

He also knew that he could never quite sleep as comfortably in his own bed without Soya at his side, he’d figured that one out after sharing a bed with her at Bam’s, and not having anyone to cuddle with during his tour. Ville inwardly winced, he really wondered how they would end up faring when they went on their own separate tours, as Soya had admitted that she never quite slept comfortably without him next to her either.

“You still haven’t answered my question about New York.” Soya said, watching him.

Ville nodded. “You know you didn’t even have to ask, kultaseni, I would have followed you either way. It’s just nice to know you want me too.”

“I always want to be with you Ville.” Soya said with a roll of her eyes. “At least, ninety nine point nine percent of the time.”

Ville laughed. “That sounds about right.”

“I just didn’t want you following me out of a sense of obligation.”

“No obligation, I want to go with you Soya.” He kissed her forehead. “Now, either you go get ready for bed and wait for me, or you join me in the shower.”

Soya blinked. “I’m not joining you in the shower.”

“Sorry,” he grinned, standing from his crouching position. “Shouldn’t have given you a choice, we’re showering together, and I promise I’ll keep my hands to myself.”

“That is one promise you know you can’t keep.” Soya laughed, standing from the couch, making sure everything was off and locked, before following Ville up the stairs, her fingers grasping at the back of his shirt, in case she fell.

“I promise if you promise.”

Soya scoffed, able to hear the grin in his voice. “Fine that is one promise I can’t keep.” Thought she protested she wrapped her arms around his waist as they quietly made their way to the bathroom, Ville closing the door behind him.

“You better keep it.” Ville said pulling off his shirt, watching as Soya turned on the taps to the water, “Because if you don’t, you’ll be the one explaining the birds and the bees to Aida.”

Soya laughed as she pulled off her clothing, bit her lip as Ville stepped out of his jeans and got into the shower, following closely after him. “She’s eight, I think that’s old enough for her to learn right?” she asked with a teasing grin.

“Oh definitely.” Ville chuckled, leaning down and kissing his fiancé, grasping on to the last few minutes of alone time they had.
