Scream Me a Dream

Chapter 58: Official

August 8, 2010
Pori, Finland
10 am

Ville cracked his eyes open when he felt something wedge itself between himself and Soya’s warm body. Looking down between the rustling sheets, he smirked at Impi was who arranging herself close to Soya’s body, resting her head on her chest.

“Well, good morning.” He laughed, looking at Impi, who looked up drowsily at him. “What happened to being a big girl?”

She frowned at him. “It’s cold.”

“So you decided to take my source of heat for yourself?” Ville chuckled. “Come on now, you have to share her.”

Soya gave a sleepily sigh. “So glad you only want me in your bed to be your heater.”

Ville grinned, looking at Soya who was staring at him with glittering grey eyes. “Ah kultaseni, you know I want you in my bed for so many reasons other than a source of heat.” His grin grew when he saw the red blush reach her cheeks.

“Not with Impi in the room.” Soya said with a laugh, moving her arms from where she’d had them on his chest, to wrap around the five year old. “How’d you sleep pikkuinen?”

“Good.” Impi yawned, snuggling deeper into Soya’s body, just as a knock rang out through the room.

“I’ll get it.” Ville said rolling out of bed to get the door, as Soya buried her face in Impi’s neck, causing her to giggle. Ville shook his head while opening the door, saying good morning to Linde and Mige as they walked in.

“Why aren’t you ready?” Linde asked, smiling at Soya. “Morning Soya.”

“Morning.” Soya laughed, as she sat up in bed with Impi crawling on to her lap.

“We just woke up.” Ville said. “What am I getting ready for?”

Mige rolled his eyes. “We’ll forgive you, given the fact that you’ve got Soya distracting you.”

Soya laughed. “So gracious of you.”

“We were going to go see some of the bands today. Iggy, Alice Cooper.” Linde hedged.

“Right, right.” Ville nodded, remembering that it was the first time in a while they’d actually gotten a chance to enjoy a festival they’d been a part of rather than leave it for their next venue. He looked over his shoulder at Soya who rolled her eyes.

“One of you take Impi to her room to get her ready and I’ll get dressed to go down.”

“We don’t have to go.” Ville said quickly, not wanting to drag her down to the festival if she really didn’t want to.

“And miss my chance to see ‘Iggy and the Stooges’? You’re crazy.” Soya scoffed, lifting Impi off the bed and sliding out herself, handing Impi to Linde. “Ask Rosalind if she’s going down as well.”

“Got it.” Linde nodded taking Impi and heading out of the room towards Rosalind’s.

“I’m going to grab a quick shower, Ville you get dressed; it won’t take me long at all to get ready.” Soya assured, as she unzipped her suitcase and rummaged through it for clothes.

“What do you want me to do Soya?” Mige asked with a smirk.

“Order me coffee.” Soya laughed, looking up at him. “Lots and lots of coffee.”

“I’m on it.” Mige chuckled going towards the phone to order breakfast for them.

Ville sat on the edge of the bed, watching as she pulled out a black and white dress, folding it and laying it on the floor. “Would you like to pick out my clothes as well?” He teased, watching as she reached towards the bottom of her suitcase, grinning in triumph when she found one of her black gladiator ballet flats, only to frown at him.

“No, I’m pretty sure you’re old enough to pick your own clothing,” Then she grinned. “Unless you want me to pick them out for you.”

Ville chuckled. “I’m fine; you should get in the shower before Linde comes in and finds that you’re still figuring out what to wear.”

Soya rolled her eyes. “I know what I’m going to wear; it’s just a matter of finding all the pieces in this thing.” She said gesturing to her suitcase.

Ville chuckled. “Soon enough you’ll have your own closet to hang everything up in.” He went over and scooped her up by her underarms and pushed her into the bathroom. “Go on, hurry up.”

“So pushy this morning.” Soya teased, accepting the clothing he had picked up from the ground, before closing the door to the bathroom. Ville rolled his eyes as he went to his own suitcase, taking out a pair of black jeans and a black Rolling Stones t-shirt that he was sure would end up in Soya’s suitcase rather than his own when he took it off again.

“Impi has new shoes!” Linde announced carrying a giggling Impi over his shoulder, Ville looked over and smirked when he saw the red Dr. Seuss themed converse with the word ‘Thing 1’ on one shoe and ‘Thing 2’ on the other. When she spent time with “The 69 Eyes” she tended to dress more to their style, preferring black clothing over anything else, but when back with her mother, Rosalind dressed her in brighter colors, including red sneakers.

Linde threw her on the couch, lightly, causing her black hair to go every which way as she laughed.

“Hey!” Ville laughed, looking at the white shirt she had on. “We match, pikkuinen.” He said pointing towards his own Rolling Stones shirt and then to hers, which she wore with a pair of dark jeans and a polka dot belt.

“Mami picked it out for me!” Impi said standing up for the couch and giving a bounce before jumping down to the floor and running over to Mige and jumping on him.

“What the hell did you give her to eat?” Ville laughed.

“Nothing.” Linde chuckled. “Rosalind was awake, so she took Impi to the bathroom to wash her up and Impi came out all hyped up.”

“It’s my natural charisma this early in the morning.”

“Dear god,” Ville groaned as he took in Rosalind’s attire. “Have my eyes deceived me or are you really wearing jeans?”

“I wear them on occasion.” Rosalind defended looking down at her jeans, just as the bathroom door opened, only for Soya to look at Rosalind with wide eyes.

“Jeez Rose, I know you like the bright colors, but can’t you tone it down a bit?” Soya asked as she put her pajamas back in her suitcase. “I’m going to have to wear sunglasses just to be around you today.”

“I hate blue jeans.” Rosalind said, “I think the hot pink works and don’t forget I’m wearing black and I never wear black Soya.”

“That I already know, there’s no need to remind me.” Soya laughed, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear as she sat on the bed to pull on her flats, taking in Rosalind’s hot pink jeans, black flats and black ‘Iggy and the Stooges’ shirt with a picture of Iggy bent over backwards. No doubt the shirt actually belonged to Jussi or Jyrki and Rosalind had stolen it, shrinking it down to her size so the guys couldn’t reclaim it.

“And don’t you look cute today, monada.” Rosalind teased. “Dressing up for someone?”

Soya blushed and sent a glare to Rosalind, before looking over at Ville who was smirking at her. “Yes Soya, dressing up for someone?”

Soya shook her head. “Obviously not for you.” She laughed as she pulled on her black cropped jacket that ended just below her bust. “I feel like I should wear leggings.” Soya admitted, looking at the mirror with a frown. The dress she wore was a cotton feel top with a low back and a black and white striped skirt that ended just below mid-thigh, with a bow accent at her waist.

“Don’t you dare cover up those legs,” Rosalind laughed. “I’m sure the fact that you covered up your back is killing Ville at the moment, cover up the legs and he might just keel over.”

“And I think it’s time for us to go.” Ville said as Soya tried to hide her laughter when she saw the red tint on Ville’s cheeks.

“Ville! You’re adorable when you blush!” Soya laughed, leaning up to kiss his cheek, before crouching down carefully to rummage through her suitcase again, taking out her jewelry bag. She got out a large black square ring, putting it on her ring finger, and a black necklace with a hand in the position of ‘I love you’ in sign language. She grabbed her ‘Hello Kitty’ wallet and handed it to Rosalind, who stuck it in her oversized bag.

Ville reached over and grabbed the necklace from her fingers, before opening the clasp and placing it around her neck. Soya pulled her hair over her shoulder as he pulled the necklace around her neck and closed the clasp. “Ready?”

“Ready.” She nodded, looking over at Mige who was watching them with a raised eyebrow. “Coffee?”

“I figured we’d get you some on our way over there, the good kind.”

“Ah, bless you.” Soya laughed, shaking her hair back. “In that case, let’s go.”

An hour later, after having stopped to get coffee and an orange juice and a scone for Impi, they wondered around the festival, Soya tucked under Ville’s arm as she spoke to Rosalind who held Impi’s hand as they wandered. Mige and Linde had separated from them, promising to meet up later at the stage where Iggy was planned to perform.

“I’m tempted to get merch.” Soya said, looking at the booths that sold shirts for the bands that were performing that day. “Regan’s an Iron Maiden fan.”

“I’m sure you can charm the vendors Soya,” Rosalind smirked, taking the half eaten scone from her daughter and handing her the cup of orange juice.

Soya looked up at Ville, only to find him distracted as he looked out at the crowd. “Ville?”

“Hmm?” He hummed, looking down at her.

“Go, Ville.” She laughed, moving out from under his arm.

“What?” he asked confused.

“I know you have friends out there also watching the bands, Rosalind and I are just going to wander around; you should go find your friends.”

“I don’t want to leave you.”

Rosalind rolled her eyes. “Nothing’s going to happen to us and we all have our phones. If you’re that worried about Soya, we’ll call you in an hour and meet with you.”

“Go Ville.” Soya laughed, leaning up to kiss the bottom of his chin. “I think I’m going to get Regan and Emmy some souvenirs and just walk around.”

Ville sighed. “Fine,” he looked down at Impi who was looking around in interest. “At least let me take Impi, I don’t see that girl nearly enough.”

Rosalind laughed. “Impi, quieres ir con tu tio Ville?”(Want to go with your Uncle Ville?)

Si!” she squealed, letting her mother’s hand go, running over to hug Ville’s leg.

“Perfect.” Ville laughed, picking her up and settling her on his hip. “Call me in an hour?” He asked, looking over at Soya while he accepted the ear plugs Rosalind handed him for Impi.

Soya laughed. “Yes, I promise.”

“Good.” Ville chuckled, leaning down to kiss her softly. “Have fun.” He called as he walked away, towards where he knew his friends were.

“That man is overprotective.” Rosalind said with an amused shake of her head as they walked around the merchandise booths.

“You shouldn’t have humored him by telling him we’d call in an hour.” Soya told Rosalind, looking at the Alice Cooper shirts that were hanging around the makeshift wall.

“If I hadn’t humored him, he would have ended up staying and do you really think he wants to stay while we shop, especially when he knows his friends are out there.”

Soya laughed. “Knowing Ville, he would have toughed it out.”

“If he knew it made you happy, monada, definitely.” Rosalind teased, pinching Soya’s cheek, causing Soya to frown at her friend.

Soya bit her lip as they walked around, Soya ended up buying Regan an Iron Maiden shirt, while finding Emmy an Anthrax shirt she knew the red head would like. Though as she talked with Rosalind, she couldn’t help but ask her Spanish friend the question that had been plaguing her since she’d found out that she and Ville had Rosalind in common.

“How long have you known Ville, Rose?”

Rosalind looked over at Soya and shrugged. “I don’t know. You know I’m not good with dates, how long have I known Jyrki? Nine years? I met Ville the first time I came up here for Christmas, but I didn’t really get to know him until I found out I was pregnant.” Rosalind shrugged. “Shit, I don’t know Soya; I’ve known the man a long time.”

“Fine, how long have you been trying to get Ville and me together?” Soya asked, stilling looking at her friend.

Rosalind shrugged again. “After I saw you both with Impi, so five years ago.”

Soya frowned. “What does Impi have to do with anything?”

Rosalind laughed. “You should have seen yourself when you first held Impi Soya, you were so afraid you were going to drop her. Even in the pictures that Josef took that day, do you remember? Your eyes were just filled with fear, but oh! You were so in awe of my little girl! I knew you’d been there after Aida was born, but you hadn’t really been around newborns, it was just…so endearing I guess.”

“All right, so I was afraid I’d break Impi.” Soya shrugged. “How does Ville come into it?”

“Ville got to the hospital a couple of hours before Jyrki and Jussi did. I asked if he wanted to hold her, he had the exact same expression you did Soya. It was amazing, so afraid he’d break her, yet so in awe that she was so tiny.” Rosalind smiled. “Remember how tiny Impi was?”

“I do.” Soya nodded.

Rosalind shrugged. “I guess I just knew you’d be perfect together, I mean he was the godfather, you were the godmother, god forbid something were to happen and Impi was left in your care, how in the world would that work with you in New York and him in Finland. You needed to be together for, you know, Impi’s sake.” Rosalind laughed.

Soya shook her head as she chuckled. “Well if it’s for Impi.” She said with a roll of her eyes.

“Also my feelings came out, and I knew it would be a right match.”

“But why didn’t you ever tell me it was Ville? Or tell Ville that it was me? Didn’t you think we’d be more receptive to go on a blind date if we had each other’s names?”

“Caught on to that did you?” Rosalind smirked.

“I also catch onto the fact that you never mention Impi’s father by name.”

Rosalind shrugged. “Habit.”

“And unhealthy.” Soya pointed out.

Rosalind waved her hand in dismissal. “We’re talking about you, not me.”

“Fine. Why didn’t you ever use names?”

Rosalind sighed. “You guys never talked about each other, so I never knew you both knew each other for one. I knew you were a HIM fan, you’re quite obsessive about it.”

“It’s not obsessive.” Soya groaned as she followed Rosalind around the grounds.

“Well, now I understand it.” Rosalind laughed, rolling her eyes. “But I just thought you were a huge fan, and here I was trying to set you up with the lead singer of said band.”

Soya sighed. “I get it.”

“I just didn’t want you guys making judgments about each other before you met. I didn’t want you looking him up on the internet and likewise for him. I wanted you guys to just sit down at a restaurant and talk, but no, you both had to be stubborn.” Rosalind sighed.

Soya laughed. “I’m sorry if I was hesitant to go on a blind date Rose, but I mean, you’ve seen the men Josef has set me up with.”

“You should have trusted me when I said I had the perfect man for you.”

“Sorry I doubted you Rose; never again will I shrug you off when you say you have the perfect man for me.” Soya humored.

Rose chuckled. “I’m guessing you don’t want to know how many kids you two are going to have.”

Soya laughed, hugging Rosalind to her. “I’d rather keep it a mystery, but when I want to know I’ll definitely ask. Either way it’s too soon to talk about children, we’re not even together.”

Rosalind snorted as she looked at Soya in disbelief, holding her hands up to stop Soya from walking. “I’m sorry, you’re not together?”

“Well, I mean, no. We haven’t talked about it.” Soya frowned.

Rosalind blinked at her friend incredulously. “So you’re telling me, you’ve stuffed your tongue in that man’s mouth and you’re not together.”

Soya winced. “I know you don’t have a filter, but I also know that you can turn that filter on.”

“I’m not turning my filter on for this conversation.” Rosalind said with a shake of my head. “Hey, look at me, monada.” she said when Soya looked away. “Why haven’t you and Ville talked?”

“We’ve talked.” Soya shrugged.

“Obviously not about the status of your relationship.”

“I’m sorry, are you giving me relationship advice?” Soya asked with wide eyes.

Rosalind blinked in surprise at Soya’s tone. “All right, I’m going to let that one go, my relationship with Jyrki has nothing to do with your relationship with Ville.”

“We’re not in-”

“Yes, you are.” Rosalind snapped, cutting Soya off. “If you think Ville goes around kissing girls he might sort-of like, then you don’t know him like you think you do. The man hasn’t dated in nearly two years Soya; he hasn’t even looked at another woman the way he looks at you. You guys are in a relationship whether you like it or not.”

“Rosalind.” Soya sighed.

“And you! I have never, in the twelve years I’ve known you, seen you remotely look at a man the way you look at Ville. Hell, I’ve never even seen you look at a man in passing; you don’t date so obviously you don’t kiss. Soya, you were practically mauling each other last night.”

“We were not.” Soya muttered, feeling the heat cover her cheeks.

“Soya, monada, I know you’re new to this, but you have entered in a relationship with this man. It doesn’t matter if the words haven’t been shared, the actions speak for themselves.”

Soya swallowed, ready to respond only for a male voice to break the tension between the two friends.

“Rosalind! Over here!”

Rosalind looked over her shoulder in annoyance and rolled her eyes as she saw the young man with the camera. “What the hell are you doing here?”

Soya looked over and saw the man Rosalind was talking to. He was young, couldn’t have been more than nineteen or twenty, with black hair and dark caramel eyes. He was dressed in black skinny jeans and a ‘Revolution’ band tee with a camera dangling from his neck.

“As your personal stalker, I had to follow you here.” He smirked

“Renaldo, if you don’t go home, I swear I’ll tell your mother where you’ve been this past summer.” Rosalind warned.

Renaldo laughed. “You speak as if my mother didn’t already know.” He lifted his camera and snapped a picture of both of them. “Who’s your friend?”

Rosalind looked over at Soya who was obviously still reeling from their conversation. “Don’t you know? Ville Valo is her boyfriend.”

“Rosalind.” Soya said, gripping Rosalind’s arm.

Renaldo raised an eyebrow, before snapping a picture of her. “Really?”

“I…” Soya frowned at Rosalind, who was looking at Soya curiously, obviously curious as to whether Soya would confirm or deny the statement. Soya sighed, running a hand through her hair, tugging lightly on a knot. Deep down she knew that there was no turning back from her actions with Ville the night before, they’d obviously jumped into….something and it was just a matter of labeling it. “I…yes.” She nodded, causing Rosalind to grin widely. “Yes, he’s my boyfriend.”

XxxxxxX

“Valo!”

Ville turned when he heard his name being called, grinning and lifting a hand in greeting as he saw Ville Akseli Juurikkala walking towards him, his camera dangling from his neck.

“Taking pictures Akseli?” Ville asked with a smirk.

“It’s what I do best.” Akseli smirked, chucking Impi under her chin causing her to giggle. “I haven’t seen you in a while pikkuinen.”

“I’ve been with my isi’s!” Impi grinned.

“Her daddies?” Akseli asked with a raised eyebrow over at Ville.

Ville laughed. “Jussi and Jyrki. She spent that last three months with them, but she goes home later tonight.”

“Ah! And here I thought I’d get pictures of your pretty face.” Akseli teased, causing Impi to giggle and hide her face in Ville’s neck. “I saw you earlier when you first got here.” Akseli said turning back to Ville.

“Did you? You should have said ‘hello’.” Ville said, adjusting Impi on his hip.

“I would have, but you seemed busy with the woman that was on your arm.” Akseli smirked.

Ville laughed. “If anything I was on her arm.”

“I took pictures of you two,” Akseli admitted. “Do you want to see them?”

Ville nodded slowly. “Yeah, I would.” He turned to Impi, knowing the five year old loved seeing pictures on digital cameras. “Do you want to see the pictures?”

“Yes!” She grinned, wiggling in his arms to get down. Ville put her down, reminding her to stay right next to him, as he accepted the camera from Akseli and crouched next to Impi to look at the pictures with her. A few of the pictures were of him with Soya and Rosalind as they talked, Impi pointing out her mother on the LCD screen with a giggle.

“Oh! Tio Ville! I like that one!” Impi squealed pointing to the screen.

Ville looked at where her finger was pointing, and couldn’t help but smile. Akseli had taken a picture just as Ville was leaving the girls, kissing Soya goodbye. “I like this one too Impi.” He agreed, as he stood up.

“So, Ville, is she your girlfriend?” Akseli hedged.

Ville chuckled as he handed Akseli back his camera, taking Impi’s hand in his. “I suppose she is, yes.”

Akseli smirked, turning the camera off and hanging it back over his neck. “Really? How long have you been seeing her? You make a nice couple.”

“Thank you, we’ve only just gotten together, she’s an old friend and we just reconnected a couple of months ago.”

Tio Mige!” Impi yelled excitedly, Ville looked up to see Mige and Linde walking towards them, only a couple feet away. He let go of Impi’s hand, allowing her to run over to Mige, launching herself onto him.

Hei Akseli!” Linde greeted. “Getting interesting shots?”

“Got some good ones of Ville and his girlfriend.” Akseli said, before looking back at Ville, who had suddenly turned red in embarrassment. “Do you want me to send you a copy?”

“If you don’t mind, yeah, I’d like…two?”

“Sure, I’ll get them to you once I get the prints, I’m going to go walk around some more, so see you guys later.” Akseli said, waving and ruffling Impi’s hair as he walked past.

“Girlfriend, Ville?” Mige smirked.

“Shut up.” Ville muttered, pulling his vibrating cell phone from his pocket, as Linde and Mige grinned at him. “Hey, where are you girls?”

“Behind you.” Soya laughed, causing Ville to turn, and grin as she and Rosalind walked closer. “Sorry we didn’t call sooner.” Soya said hanging up her phone as she leaned up and kissed Ville’s cheek. “We got distracted with Rosalind’s stalker.”

“Stalker?” Linde asked looking over at Rosalind who laughed.

“He’s a kid that grew up in my apartment building; he’s a fan of ‘Revolution’ and makes it his life’s mission to know everything about us. Apparently, he followed me here, he’s going home with me and Impi tonight though, I’ve already booked his ticket, his mother is going to kill him when she finds out he was in Finland.”

Ville looked over at Soya, as Linde, Mige and Rosalind began to talk. “Walk with me?”

Soya nodded, intertwining their fingers as he pulled her away from the group. Soya bit her lip and leaned her head against Ville’s arm.

“Having fun?” he asked.

Soya grinned up at him. “So much, I’m glad I get to experience this with you though, I think it makes it all the better.”

“I’m flattered.” Ville laughed, kissing the top of her head.

“Ville?” Soya said, biting her lip as she pulled him to a stop.

“Yes?” he asked, looking at her curiously.

“I said something to Rosalind’s friend earlier, and I did so without speaking to you first.”

Ville frowned. “What’d you say?”

Soya bit her lip, Ville shook his head, reaching up and running his thumb over her lip, causing her to let go of it. “I told him you were my boyfriend.” She admitted quietly.

Ville chuckled. “Did you tell him like that? Or did you say it like you meant it?”

“Ville!” Soya laughed.

“I’m just asking!” Ville laughed. “Because when I told Ville you were my girlfriend I said it like I meant it.”

Soya blinked. “I’m sorry; did you just refer to yourself in the third person?”

Ville laughed and shook his head. “I meant Akseli, he goes by both.”

Soya bit her lip. “So you told him I was your girlfriend?”

Ville nodded. “I did,” he grinned down at her. “So if we both told people that we were each other’s significant other, that must make it official, right?”

Soya laughed, wrapping her arms around his waist, burying her face in his chest. She felt his arms wind tighter around her own waist, his chin resting on the top of her head. “Yes, I believe that does make it official.”

“Oh, thank God, because I hate having that awkward talk with girls, I think this fits us much better.”

Soya laughed against his chest, “Yes, Ville, it’s very us.”
