Don't Remember You

I planted myself on the couch next to Erin, who was watching some black-and-white documentary on a band. Mason was next to her, pulling her closer and closer.
“Hey, Luke,” she said with a smile.
“Hey, Erin. Mason.”
“Dude, you look fucking jazzed. What’s up?”
“So that girl from the party,” I started.
“Oh, the one you slept with?” Mason’s eyes were wide and excited now. I rolled my eyes and continued.
“Well, I met her today. And I got her number.”
Erin smiled and Mason gaped, open-mouthed.
“Breaking one-night-stand rule number one!” He looked terrified and livid at the same time. “Never reconnect with the girl! They’ll want a committed relationship!” He sounded as scared as he looked and shuddered at the word “committed.” Erin shot him a death glare and he shrunk back. “Not that there’s anything wrong with commitment, I like commitment…”
“Oh, can it, Aguirre.”
I laughed.
“So, Luke, what’s her name?”
I loved talking to Erin; she was like my sister.
“Teagen.”
She blanched. “Teagen Brown?”
I glanced at the contact in my phone. “Yeah, Teagen Brown.”
“Luke, she’s one of my good friends.”
“Yeah?”
“And she’s an intern for ESPN.”
