Last Flight Home

I walked out to the porch to see my lovely husband strumming on his guitar. A smile automatically spread across my face every time I saw him playing his guitar because you could see how happy he was with a pick and strings under his hands. Nothing could ever bring him that joy that he had while playing music and I’m glad he had that.

Alex focused in on the guitar and began to play a song that sounded rather familiar to me.

I slowly walked over to Alex and sat down next to him to watch his talent shine. He started to sing while he looked up at me with a grin:

It was obvious you were too much for me,

Alex strummed the last chord just as I began clapping at the beautiful performance.

“That was incredible,” I choked with tears in my eyes.

Alex looked up at me with those chocolate wonders of eyes. “It’s about you,” Alex confessed as he tuned his guitar.

It made my heart sing just know that it was about me. Saying that he wants to fall so in love with me and no one else would make any girl fall weak at the knees.

“I love you.” That was all I could say. That’s all I wanted to say.

“I love you too,” Alex answered me. I turned my head away and blushed into my shoulder.

Within an instant, Alex pulled me into his arms and stood up from the comfort of the wooden floor. He raised my hand with his and he rested his other on my back. Alex smiled and swayed from side to side. We began to dance all around the porch with not a care in the world.

“I can’t dance,” I failed to mention.

“Don’t give me that excuse,” Alex protested, “I’ve seen you shake that ass. Trust me, you can dance.”

The returning red spread on my cheeks. I couldn’t help but giggle. I rested my head in the crook of his neck and shut my eyes loosely to let go of everything.

“Well we don’t have music,” I gave the next excuse in my bag of tricks.

“We don’t need that shit. We’ve got the music of our hearts,” Alex tried to be poetic but it only ended in us both laughing hysterically.

The laughing died and I smelled the wonderful scent that he had. “I have a question,” I whispered into his skin, “Where do you see your life in a few years?”

I could tell that I put a loaded question on him. Alex took a moment to think about it and he finally replied, “I see myself still carrying on All Time Low and conquering the music world. I see myself being the happiest person that I am now.”

Alex paused, “and I see myself with you and no one else. Being together just like we are now. I never want to change this, except for a few new things…”

Alex smirked while looking down at my stomach and slowly rubbing his hands in circles.

“We’ll see about that last part,” I grunted and snuggled even closer to him.

“Are you trying to tell me that you don’t want kids,” Alex said bluntly.

“Well I do, but its just that we both are really busy and I don’t want to throw a child into the mix if we don’t have time for it,” I explained from the bottom of my heart. Don’t get me wrong, I wanted kids more than anything, but Alex and I were nearly kids and he had his music that took up a lot of his life. I knew that we both wouldn’t be able to handle it.

“Well I’m ready when you are,” Alex supported me fully… Thank goodness.

“Well we can always practice for the future,” I admitted to him with a small smirk.

As soon as Alex caught the drift of what I was saying, his face lit up like a Christmas tree.

“WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR?!” Alex shouted and threw me over his shoulder.

I squeaked loudly and couldn’t help but be excited for what was about to go down. Alex went into our new bedroom and laid me across the bed.

“I love you,” Alex repeated over and over.

“Kiss me Gaskarth,” I demanded with a grip on his collar and pulled him to me.

His kiss was mind blowing just like it always had been. I could barely breathe just by thinking about it and trying to keep up with Alex’s pace.

We dived into the abyss of the sheets and danced across our bodies. Let’s just say, our future was beginning…
